Tommy's humour was in a way, quite similar to Peter's in that he also enjoyed having catchphrases. His most famous must be "Just like that!" And he is also best known as being not only a comedian but a bit of a magician, and a fan of wearing a fez! :D

In 1984 Tommy was on stage in the middle of a show when he suddenly collapsed, people in the audience at first assumed it was part of his act, until they realised that there was something seriously wrong. Tommy was pronounced dead on arrival at the nearest hospital. It's nice to know that he died doing what he loved best, making people laugh and entertaining.

Again another favourite of mine from childhood! My grandad used to have tons of tapes of his shows and i loved it whenever i went round to have tea or whatever to stick on some classic Tommy Cooper!

It was a shame and a joy the way he died. As Haze mentioned he died on stage doing his act on television show 'live from her majestys' which i believe is still running as a variety show. It was a shame because people thought it was all part of his act, and he also died quite young and broke, I think he was in his 60's? But it was also a joy becuase he died what he loved doing best and i think every entertainer would love to go out the way he did!

He was a genuis and another influence on todays comedians, i've heard storys where he could just walk into a room and stand there and people would cry out laughing! Thats how good he was!

A TRUE LEGEND!

Awww yessss I loved Tommy Cooper - his face just made you laugh, when he wasn't even saying anything. I remember the night he died very well - I had taped it 'cos Donny Osmond was on the same show so unfortunately I had Tommy's demise on tape too :( and people did think it was all part of the act - even when the curtain came down people were still laughing, thinking it was all a joke :( Very very sad, but it was probably the way he would have wanted to go; making people laugh like he'd done all his life. Bless him :)
