I love this guy and I think he his funny in Big Brother Big Mouth. I am not sure about his new show. I might go and see him on Tour in Liverpool next year

kegs - September 17, 2006 12:26 PM (GMT)
O Juliet I love him too! I've got tickets for Liverpool. I must admit I prefer Paddy, but there is something about Russell that makes me laugh. My parents hate him though, they much prefer Paddy too!!!

gemma - September 17, 2006 02:44 PM (GMT)
Russell is great, especially BBBM he makes me laugh soooo much watching that (thumbs up)

dark_side06 - September 17, 2006 03:09 PM (GMT)
Russell fans cover your ears!

i cant stand him! he actually makes me angry seeing him...
the way he's so over the top on things and i know people think thats funny, but it doesn't make me laugh at all, it irratates me

sorry russell fans...but i can't stand him! <_<

Leslie - September 20, 2006 12:14 PM (GMT)
I have to agree with dark_side06 and, of course, Paddy who both say that Russell Brand is an arrogant little t**t.

Sorry to any Russell fans on here but I just want the womanising money-grabber OUT of the papers and OFF the TV screens once and for all... FACT!

:)

You'lldo4me! - September 20, 2006 12:18 PM (GMT)
Oh, I'm sorry I can't stand him either - He looks like a dirty little bugger ; I want to scrub behind his ears every time I see him - He needs a haircut an'all. Sorry

Han - September 20, 2006 01:36 PM (GMT)
Me neither -- I don't find him actually to be that funny?!?!? There's just something about him I can't stand. I don't know what he was like as a host for whichever BB show he hosted, but I've seen that thing he's been doing lately -- that great debate thing or whatever it is and I'm not impressed!!! So won't be paying good money to see him tour and will avoid him at all costs!!!

So that's 4 of us who no like-y!!!

Don't you mean 'FIVE of us', Han?

Paddy doesn't like him either, remember?!

dark_side06 - September 20, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
also, whats with the tight jeans/waistcoat??

Leslie - September 20, 2006 04:14 PM (GMT)
Exactly!
Russell Brand should NOT be allowed anywhere near our TV screens, the scruffbag he is.
Let's all make a pledge to get him OFF our screens once and for all... *ahem*

kegs - September 20, 2006 05:40 PM (GMT)
R no - don't! I still like him! He's not the type of person that I'd normally go for but for some crazy reason I do think he's quite alright and he makes me laugh!
I admire the way he has tried to turn his life around and also been open about his problems.
I know he's a little bit dirty and crued, but I don't mind that. If you look beyond all of the hair, there is actually a really nice looking fella there.
You are all entitled to your opinons though and I respect that, but I'm gonna give the man a chance and see him on tour in February.

You'lldo4me! - September 20, 2006 05:57 PM (GMT)
Awwww Kegs (hug) I'm sure you'll have a great night - he's just not for me that's all (hug) Each to their own m'luv - you carry on ...... :)

dark_side06 - September 20, 2006 06:02 PM (GMT)
yeah,i'm sure you'll have a brilliant time when you go see him in Feb!!!!
let us know how you get on,i'm not a fan of his but i still hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy yourself!!

SaRah...x - September 20, 2006 10:21 PM (GMT)
I really rather like Russell. I find that in a way he's sort of like Jimmy Carr. You either love him or hate him.... most people decide on the latter. lol

ellie - October 7, 2006 10:31 PM (GMT)
I'm undecided on Russell Brand.

I think I like the style he has, but I reckon after more than five minutes I'd want to jump off a cliff. I'm leaning more towards not liking I think.

Well he won most funniest man recently so he can't be that bad!

Aaah Kegs, you see you're not alone then - somebody voted for him :P (OOO)

Sorry I'm only kidding with ya (hug) (I still think he needs a good wash though!) :)

I know! If nobody else is volunteering then I will quite happily give him a good wash! i'm not seeing him until February though so you will have to hold your nose till then!

Well I went to see Russell last night and I have got to say I was very impressed.
The tickets were £15 and he was on after the support guy for over 2 hours and then offered to signs and get photos with anybody who wants to meet him - literally hundreds and hundreds of people.
The support act was on first and he was ok, but not to everybodys taste, but when Russell came on there wasn't a dry eye in the theatre.
He started off with a good 10 minute walk around the audience where he nearly choked us all with his mike lead, nearly took off my head at one point! He then started 'getting to know us all’ by reading the local papers. This was spot on, he does a boss scouse accent and took the micky in a fantastic way that it was hard to take offense.
Russell then picked out a couple of phone numbers from various articles and phoned them on stage and left some very funny messages (thank god it wasn't my mobile he borrowed!)! One old lady answered and he had a laugh and joke with her before telling her who he really was but she didn't believe him, god I'd love to know who she is!
After about an hour he asked what time it was and said that he'd best get started on the show, as that wasn't the show just a bit extra for us. This is when it got a bit dirty, but really funny - I never felt uncomfortable or sick just couldn't catch my breath for laughing!
Another hour or so passed and then he let the audience shout out questions and answered them there and then which was great as he had an answer to everything and made you laugh every time.
Before he left the stage he invited anybody who wanted to meet him for a photo etc in the bar area. I thought this was extremely kind and generous considering the size of the theatre.
We qued for about 20 mins but the que went on forever, deffo over 1000 if not more people. When we got to meet him he pulled me on his lap and said that I can sit there coz I'm 'little and cute' and then my friends sat either side of him and the photographer took a photo. Russell was joking about and was really funny pulling my hair and god knows what else but I remember slapping his leg at one point but I really can't remember what he said to make me do it!
He grabbed my DVD and signed it and then we said are goodbyes and they swiftly moved on to the next. It is a good system that they have, they take the photos for you and you can dowload them from a website in the next few days for free. Guess it saves time messing about with cameras and stuff!
Bit scared though of the photo coz I had a bit of a risky top on and I just hope that everything is hidden away just fine! Fingers crossed hey - I'll let you all see it in a few days (after I've censored it) along with a few good photos that I took myself when he was on stage.
So there you go - in all an amazing night, far funnier then I'd ever imagined and an excellent end to the night by getting to meet him. I'd recommend this to everybody (who is old enough) and hope that some of you may have a bit of a different opinion of him now. He really is a nice, generous and intelligent fella who doesn't just talk about sex and filth all of the time! He’s made mistakes in his past, but I genuinely do think he has leant from them and I admire that.

Yey! I'm glad somebody else here likes him, thought I was on my own there!
It was fabulous Ian, he did use a bit of what was on the DVD but only after over an hour of other stuff that was completly original as it was takin the mick out of the local paper.
The funny thing was though he had somehow managed to pick up the local paper for Ormskirk which although it feels like its Merseyside coz it's so close, its actually Lancashire - but I used to live there when I was a student and still visit there a lot so i knew of all the places that he was talkin about!
I've not heard his radio show Ian coz I'm always out on a saturday night, but if you let us know what time its on then I will try and catch it somehow! Thanks

gemma - February 19, 2007 12:34 PM (GMT)

Must remember to take my DVD and see if he wil sign it for me.

Thanks for the update, you've made me a very happy girl. Only 12 more sleeps!! Must make myself 'little and cute' before I see him so I can sit on his knee too!!! ;)

aw you lucky thing, you still have it all to come. If your sitting near the front make sure you have your phone to hand and make sure it has speaker phone!
He will deffo sign your DVD, I didn't even have to ask, he just grabbed it out of my hand and starting scribbling away.
Hope you get to sit on his knee too, he was laughin at me tryin to position myself without flashin to the camera, I was also scard of crushing him so I asked him if he was comfy and he laughed and said 'of course I'm comfy I'm in the middle of 3 lovely ladies!'
You'll have a fab night, wish I could go again! Look forward to your review.

Gemma, thanks for your comment, I'll put mine up tonight, but I'l have to wait a while for Russells peeps to put the other piccy up before I can get it. xkx

O you should have said you were goin, we could've met up. I knew you were thinking of goin but didn't know you had tickets.
The phone calls were fantastic - I've never laughed so much! Glad you enjoyed it too, did you see Chris from Hollyoaks, the Irish lad? Shame you didn't wait to meet him but I don't blame you, we were lucky to only wait 20ish mins but I imagine that que was a good 2 hours if not more long!

Han - February 20, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)
Sounds like a good night -- I may see if I can make it to see him live one day ...... *wanders off in thought*

Wow, great picture :D

Have you had it enlarged and framed??!! :P I would have done if it was me!! I have framed my signed pic' of Paddy and have it proudly on display in my bedroom (Not bedside table, am not THAT obsessed! ;) ) Surprisingly though ex boyfriends haven't liked it!! Might go some way to explain why they are now 'ex' boyfriends!! ;)

It might just go in a frame, we shall see. Thanks for that and as for the ex's they're just jealous, though I think I'd get smacked if I did that - my fella wouldn't be happy!

PaddysBitch!57 - February 21, 2007 08:37 PM (GMT)
Sounds like a fab night! Great pic aswell!

I must admit I was really unsure about him at first but I got his DVD for my birthday and really love it!

Tinkerbell - March 5, 2007 08:46 AM (GMT)
Saw Russell live on Saturday evening and he was really really good. Unfortunately he had just flown back from the US and was really jet lagged so didn't hang round in the bar afterwards for photo's and stuff, but that said, he came on stage at 9pm and didn't leave til 11pm.
Would def' recommend anyone going (as long as you're not easily offended!) :D

Han - July 15, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
Can someone pass me the ketchup?? I'm about to eat my hat.

Went to see Russell at Hull City Hall last night mainly out of curiosity but also because it's a local night out which makes a nice change ;) and I must say he is actually quite good. I was pleasantly surprised and I do think I'd go see him again. Of course my loyalties lie with Paddy first, but Russell isn't bad if you can get past the hair. And having read the programme I bought you have to give him some props for being open about stuff and letting it actually be printed and in thousand of homes!! ;)

Don't think BBBM did him any favours now having actually seen him in the flesh. There is photo linkage if you're interested but that dodgy City Hall lighting doesn't really lend itself to good photos!! ;) Besides there were annoying ushers who stopped me taking photos about 15mins from the end -- take note though, that, even after I stopped, there were still OTHER people taking pics!! <_< But anyway, if you want to take a look, enjoy!! (thumbs up)

kegs - July 16, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
He,he! I'm made up you went Han, I knew you'd love him. As you know I went again last week and think he is fab. I've still got bruises from when he got mobbed, can't beleive I got stuck in the middle of it - ouch! I Love the way he pulls his fans! How funny is that - if only Paddy would start opening auditions for F@ck idol too!
