Hi All,

I've been changing a few settings around with the accounts to help block out spam. But whilst doing this its meant changing a few of the elite members accoutns etc, so if anything isn't working pelase say.

With regards to spam, they can now register but they can't get on to the board...Han will be pleased to know lol

OK peeps!! Just a quick note to this. I think I speak for all the moderation team when I say if you see any kind of spam on the forum, please don't respond to it, it just makes it stick to the top of the board.

If you see any spam that hasn't yet been noticed by a member of the team please message one of us and we'll sort it out!! Try a bit of ignore it and it'll go away!! Don't encourage them!! ;) Cheers!! (thumbs up)

Okay Han, will do....I have seen quite a few spam messages on here the last couple of days which irritate the hell out of me too. I thought it best to ignore them but didn't know how to report their post - I've only just seen the report button now :unsure:

:angry: tell me about it! i reported a post by a new user which content i thought was rather inappropriate for on here,i foolishley clicked a link to check it out,to give a detailed report of what in was,my pc was then infected with spyware and ive spent all day since sorting it out! and had to purchase a new anti-spy package,hopefully the probs sorted now,my cousins a pc doc goona get him to give it a check over just to be sure,just thought id warn you all,these idiots irritate the hell out of me

Yeah you have to be careful what you click on Linzi - one of my computers got wiped out by a virus once and I lost everything, its very annoying.

You also have to be careful what pop up's come up etc...a couple of year's ago I also got one of those premium rate trojan things once where my own internet number (when I was on dial up) was replaced by a premium rate number and I didn't know and was still dialling the internet up...I ended up getting my mam a £95 bill for my internet usage. Very, very infuriating. Luckily my mam was okay about it but I felt awful for ages.

I am on broadband now so not sure if those premium rate things can be done now.

:angry: it was all trojan files i was infected with today i have broadband,bit nervous about the bill coming now :huh:

Don't be nervous about your bill coming, I think it only infects the dial up system and it was years ago that I got mine and it was a certain sort of trojan, it doesn't come with all of them :)

If you want to be sure, just go and check your internet properties and see that nothing has been changed. But I am sure that you will be fine as it sounds like you got rid of them quickly. :)
