"TV stars to join in Farnworth fire station fun

STARS of television will be turning out to a special birthday bash to mark Farnworth fire station’s 30th birthday.

Residents are invited to a fun day on Saturday, June 27 at the station in Albert Road from 11am to 4pm. Entry is free.

Shameless TV actors Rebecca Atkinson and Ciaran Griffiths are invited, as is Bolton comedian Paddy McGuinness.

Organisers are asking the public to join in the fun activities to help raise money for the Firefighters Charity and Bolton firefighter Steve Morris, who was badly burned in a house fire last year.

Attractions will include old and new fire engines, a bouncy castle, face painting, a raffle and tombola, a rowing machine challenge and rescue demonstrations.

Organisers are appealing to residents and businesses to support the fundraiser by donating raffle prizes.
