Peter Kay is taking on another female role following the success of his singing alter ego Geraldine - this time for a children's animation.

The Phoenix Nights star will provide the voice for Big Christine as well as her son Big Chris in new episodes of Channel 5 show Roary The Racing Car.

Big Christine is described as a "karaoke fanatic", and the first episode of the new series sees her performing a duet with her son.
The show features Sir Stirling Moss as the narrator and this series will see the introduction of two other new characters: James, an Aston Martin-inspired chauffeur car, and Loada, a huge transporter lorry from Eastern Europe.
The new series begins on Five on July 13
