Title: EA Buys BioWare
Description: *sobs*

Press release link.

Since the acquisition is still underway and I'm a BioWare mod, I'm legally obliged not to comment on this.

But, on a completely unrelated note, have I mentioned that Sims 2 phones home unless firewalled or disconnected, eats up memory like nobody's business (I'm talking in terms of a major leak here), and requires third-party critical fixes in order to run, because EAxis won't admit that there are severe design flaws inherent to it?

Or that Black and White 2 was a crushing disappointment in every way, shape and form?

Or that Spore is being advertised as phoning home, as though this is a good thing?

Or that I'm getting rather practised at working around geases? :P

If by "phone home" you mean it contacts a central server and exchanges your creature designs with other players', then hell yeah is that a good thing! The game will utterly flop if the only other creatures we have to interact with are the ones supplied on the disc cos there is no way they're going to be able to provide enough diversity to be able to populate an entire universe.

Which is all well and good as long as you trust EAxis to only send the data needed to swap species.

Given that Sims 2 attempts to phone home even when you turn auto-updates (the only reason it should ever have to do so) off, and given that it's being made by the same division of the same company, I don't.

You just had to go ruin my day!

Such a pain, mass effect gets out before the big change, but dragon age is going to be right in it - - and I was so hoping that this title would be a return to the old glory days of sp rpg gaming - - - well now I'll have to hold out for Diablo III

I really don't want to comment on this because it isn't proper for a forum admin to do something he should be banned for

Well I, for one, welcome our new EA overlords.

Overmind - October 14, 2007 02:50 PM (GMT)
I vote we burn Ajwz to the gaming gods to try and revert the dominance of EA (or to try and get them to put gaming before profits)

themadone - October 15, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
I vote we applaud Ajwz's fine knowledge of quotes and pop culture *nodnods*

Yes. Specifically:

I never thought I' have to link to the FAQ off-site.

See especially the final question: 'What will you accept as proof, damnit?!'

*is a modly metic*

Until K3 is announced, which IMO is looking less and less likely to ever happen by the day, the FAQ is God.
