The first ps3 I buy was broken after 2 month. The second was already broken. The third is alive... yet.
I have a friend who buy the ps3 two year ago and he still have it.

It all comes down to how you take care of your Ps3 and how much you play it... With a 360 it just dies randomly.

I take care of my ps3 I even by a new ventilation system and some new accessory for increase her life.
Some day I don't even play whit it for the fear of this broken. :(

The first ps3 only the laser, when I take the second my tv dosen't receive the ps3 signal and if it does the ps3 froze after 10 second of play.

I want only say something: if you have a 60gb ps3 who read the ps1/ps2 game the probality of broken are 90%.
If you have a 40gb ps3 who don't read the ps1/ps2 game the probality of broken are 10% because the 60gb ps3 heat to much for the fact that it have two console inside: the ps2 and the ps3.

Btw, the 60 gig PS3 was the best and most stable PS3. PS1/2 compatability and almost never overheated. 80 gig overheats and yellow lights. 40 gig is cheap because it can't play ps1/2 games. 120 gig... haven't tried it. No opinion.

NEVER had a problem with my PS3. Then again, I take care of EVERYTHING like a new born baby.

You have to be pretty fucking careless and/or unlucky to have a "30 year product" (The PS3) break on you.

Depend on the fact if it can read the ps1/2 game and how time you spend on it .
The friend I was talking before have a 80gb ps3 who can read ps1/2 game.
He buy it two years ago and he spend 24/24 hours every day.

I've left my ps3 on for like... 4 days straight before. No damage what-so-ever. The PS3 is a good product. Sony actually CARES is there is bugs in their products. Unlike Microshit. My theory is that they know how to fix the problem. And the problem isn't even a problem because it's probably deliberate. Notice how much money Microsoft makes from the RRoD? Alot.

I've managed to fix the RRoD on my bro [from-another-ho :lol: ]'s Xbox for almost 3 months, before. I wrapped it in a thin towel and left it out on the balcony in about 40 degree fahrenheit for the night. Next morning, worked like a charm. 2 and a half months later, broken. Tried the same method, didn't work. It was totally fucked that time. Sent it in, came back. 2 days later, broke. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Anyway, console wars are for kids with nothing better to do. They are pointless. PS3 obviously came out way after Xbox 360 so it's obviously a bit more advanced. OBVIOUSLY. Anyone who says otherwise is plain ignorant. Simple as that. Xbox has more games because it was out more than a year before. Duh. Xbox holds back game developers from maximizing the gaming experience [content, graphics, etc..] the Xbox can only handle so much. Thank fucking christ that Konami was smart enough to make MGS4 PS3 only so that they didn't have to get rid of 5/6ths of it.

Anyway, buy both consoles. Take good care of both. If you're lucky, you won't get the RRoD. If you're SMART, you won't get the yellow light [PS3]. ;)

They both have their great exclusives. Neither are better than the other. PS3 is a bit more advanced and reliable. Xbox has more exclusives. That's all.

When ur console is broken it means ur just unlucky because those big companies are making millions of concoles each year so ur gonna have a few % of it that are gonna be broken or that some parts quality are less better.

The xbox has more games because pc games are coming on it, developers can more easaly put a pc game on the xbox then the ps3.

You have right abaut XBOX 360 exit but the ps3 is my favorit console because it have more exclusive game like: metal gear solid 4, killzone 2, resistance, infamous, uncharted, heavenly sword, gran turismo...ecc.

I bought a PS3 slim a couple weeks ago and after about a week, the hard drive failed, but it wasn't right from day one. It had slow read / write times, would lock up, etc. before it ultimately failed.

I reformatted the drive successfully, but when I tried re-installing the firmware, it would get to 99%, then lock. Anyway, I got a new slim now and it's been all good.

I have a 40gig ps3 that caN read ps1 and ps2 games. the first xbox 360 i bought died in less than 30 days, inside the warranty so thank god. the 2nd xbox 360 died outside of the warranty so i was fucked, but since i was outside of the warranty i didnt give a fuck about voiding it by opening so i fixed it myself... temporarily. for a couple months my 360 looked like a school project and a fan sat beside it to keep it kool. and it died again, so i temporarily and sold it to buy ps3.... and been happy every since

best thing u could ever do....kinda. depends on what games u like. not many ps3 games are on pc and seeing how much of a ps3 fan u used to be, the games on the pc might not satisfy u, but i would get it anyways
