It took them a year to bring this, and i bet unwillingly, on PC.I have played all the major star wars games, racers, role playing, flight sim games from the N64,on Dream-cast,Gamecube(rogue sqadron), Ps2 (i still have my cartridges and discs back in France) to PC(Jedi knight outcast ,jedi academy ,Kotor1 and Kotor2..).I always bought Lucas arts products but it felt like a let down when they said they wouldn't release it on PC because you will need ,to quote them,a "4000$ PC to play it like it meant to be played" I was like what the hell ? what a lame and retarded excuse.I know they make games to make money and they should have been honest with us instead of serving some BULL.The game got released on the SO ADVANCED PS3 AND XBOX360 WITH MAJOR FRAME-RATE AND GLITCHES ISSUES(LOL).Well it was obvious the consoles would choke on this. seeing how the game Euphoria physics engine is so taxing.Anyway...I tested it and it's great and play smoothly. It's a definite buy for me once it hit the shelves here in Montreal. It will comes with a nice box, like the consoles, and will have collectibles.

I didn't really like the game. I played it on Wii so that's probably why.

Wesker95 - November 2, 2009 11:53 AM (GMT)

always spent money on games if i felt it was worth it, some games get so dull after a short period of time that they may be fun for a week but then you dont want to play them again for eons, like dark crusade. others like arkham asylum demand your money from the get go, and its just a matter of making sure they actually work when you buy them.

You are absolutely right it would be a waste to buy a game and then find yourself in such a position that u can't play it or that the game does't have much of a replay value
Best thing is to try it then invest if u like it by thi I mean playing demos and even downloading it and giving it a spin around the block

lucasarts just stuck a huge middle finger at the consolers who already purchased this game with every dlc, to find out that we have to buy the game again for one exclusive dlc to the ultimate sith edition. this is not even worth torrenting, nothing is worth torrenting

el-b - November 5, 2009 10:02 PM (GMT)
pretty sure f3 and arkham were worth torrenting lol.

this is why i wait so long to buy games that tend to get dlc packs. they make you spend loads of money on the seperate and probably broken ones that need patches that delete your saves...then release the whole thing in one tidy package for less than you payed.

i still havent got hl episode 1 or 2 yet cause you know as soon as 3 comes out theres going to be another pack, like the was with part one and the orange box. hopefully it wont come with hl2 in cause frankly i was already cheated into buying that game twice (they sold me a second hand one without a key in it as a first hand game, then threatened me when i tried to get a working replacement...the shop no longer exists, sadly not my doing).

well to some extent,
dead rising 2 will be worth torrenting

finally got the game, heres my cents so far.

it starts off with darth vader, who cannot run so the level is slow and
easy, since the wookies your slaughtering to fuck all damage.

as far as i can tell thre are only 4 proper force powers, the rest being
combos of lightning dash push and choke. the aiming is finicky and
when force grabbing objects using choke it either movies really really slowly or so insanely fast it cant be aimed properly. there are
dozens of costumes, most up from the get go, and unfortunatelythe
ones that have cloaks andlongcoats are just stuck to starkillers legs
rather than having bones, ruining their awesomeness...you can play
as sion though, the undead jedi from kotor 2. i'm using the skin for a
cyborg sith assasin, his almost completely droid, with a malek like
face and a blank area where his inards should be...it looks brutal.

the game crashed to desktop on me in level 2, and the movement
of the character, especially jumping, seems a little dated, the
camera, like on most 3rd person shooters isnt great and i can see
combat getting repetative. the levels are made of many little
breakable things that can be gravity gunned at people, if you dont
want to gravity gun the people at the people. overall its okay, but i
have no idea how it was so popular.

the games worst flaw is the bindings, it doesnt actually allow you to bind everything, and it openly states that the in game promps will
not change, this means that the quicktime like scenes and tutorials can be bastards. right now, e is my right mouse button, and space is
on my keypad. if a games going to tell you to press specific buttons for finishers it should actually tell you what they are.

I tried it, I personally don't really care for it. I've never been to big on Star wars though, I don't hate it or anything, I Can watch the movies and enjoy some parts of it, but could never be like "ZOMG!! LIGHT SABERS! *nerd gasm*" But I could see how people could get into it :>

el-b - November 17, 2009 04:59 AM (GMT)
well if i cant get a crack for it that fixes his crashing i'm uninstalling it, also, it takes up 25 gig of your hd, that makes this the biggest install ever and i cant see why, surely consoles couldnt handle that?

it crashes constantly on level 2, start uit up, a few minutes later that fucking noise!!! then back to the start again. i dont think id put money up for this game even without the crashing, the combat is quite shallow.

Coming from someone who's a hardened WOW player, i find it ironic.... :>

@ el-b

It's Vader of course he's going to be overpowered,i personally liked the first level because it was giving you a glimpse of what you will be able to do with your character later on and gave you the occasion of messing around with the game physics engine.the physics engine is not extraordinary but it's not bad taking into account it has been developed for consoles.

-The crash is crack related and a fix for it has been released. There's also a patch that came out with which addresses the game performance issues and bugs.As for the clothing physics apparently out of sloppiness they didn't activate it in the pc version and you have to manually do it yourself
Go to your AppData\Local\Aspyr\Star Wars The Force Unleashed directory
edit the Config.xml and set the id="ClothLevel" option from 0 to 1.

-As for the binding issues lol i was using a gamepad i just can't play those type games(devil may cry like) with the keyboard, it's just counter intuitive.

-As for the repetitive action ,that's the "plague" of all hack/slash/button mash games.Devil may cry ,God of war suffers from it and i think even Bayonetta will suffer from it despite the INSANE amount of possible combos.Doesn't matter much combos they throw in, you always tends to stick with 3 or 4 at most that you overuse. As for the the game fighting systems nothing great but it's overall consistent with a vast amount of combos, force based combos ,throws available and customizable light-saber attributes.
I also liked the bonus missions mainly on Tatooine and few of the boss( Obi-Wan,Boba fett,Darth maul, Luke...) and mini bosses fights(Rancors,AT-ST..).
I overall enjoyed the game and already ordered a copy of it (for my game library collection so i can show my gran kids the kind of shit we were playing back then lol)

but here are the things i didn't like about it
-The retarded size of the install which goes up to 30 go after being patched this is fucking ridiculous....
-The random crashes prior the patch
-The unavailability of a AA and AF options (you have to do it manually)
-The clothes physics options turned off by default
-The force aiming was a bit off even for a game-pad ,the Destroyer force take down was a shore but it was satisfying to single handily smash it to the ground.
-The 30fps cap even tough i didn't have performance issues but then again i guess my PC compensated for it.
-Good game by essence but kind of a sloppy port, why don't these guys follow Capcom example...

-And more importantly I HATE Sam Witwer!

el-b - November 17, 2009 10:22 AM (GMT)
i love how scion looks in this one, hes a badass scottish monster lol, so far my fave costumes are him, the sith assasin rebuild and his toxic costume from the junk world. at kashyk part 2 now, not bothering with the patch, even though i'm getting a lot of sound issues in cutscenes and it just did one of those horrible crashes that forces you to reset (my comp really doesnt like that, i have to shutdown and startup again cause it just keeps crashing and fucking up after a restart), its just too large an install for me as it is. i only have 3 small hard drives, 75 gigs.

after seeing all the upgrades and possible combos, the costumes and saber upgrades, this isnt that shallow a game, its just unwieldy. you can tell why it has such a massive install though just on that mushroom level alone, everything is animate.

is it just me or do you just throw your enemies round for most kills, you dont even need to get your saber on lol.

i dont find it counter intuitive to play with the mouse and keyboard, i used to ages ago, but now i'm so used to this and just use the same controls with each game that its easier for me. although i have to say, for some reason dead space seems to just suit a controller, maybe its cause you can grip it hard when your scared, cant really do that with a keyboard.
