reinstalled gears last night, trying to play it now and it either says there no disc in the drive (there is) it says that theres an error with the startup, or that i cant run the game with a modified exe, and i'm using the one that it installed!

is there some kind of fix here that doesnt require me to waste an hour reinstalling it just to find that that didnt work?

this might help others with the same problem as me. i cant believe the released a game designed to stop working at a set date. epic should be penalised for something like that. it seems wierdly deliberate, especially since theyve been working on fixing it for almost a year.

that doesnt work either and i'm still getting startup errors and fuckups not recognising theres a disk in.

a patch fixed it. however, on my old hard drive it would not work.

uninstalled and reinstalled, if it doesnt work then i'm putting the patch on, if that doesnt work i'm getting my sword collection and going to epics head office lol.

lol, have a collection myself, including sercret airsoft guns in new york(airsoft is banned in new york) and i have a wooden katana, and a detachable double bladed sword, and a dagger with a dragon design on it. all in the secret compartment in my house.

i have a 22 air rifle, 2 one handed swords, a short sword, and a longsword. i also have a walking stick sword and a kukhri. theres a ww2 bayonet i want at grandmas but its inside a dark and horrible shed full of spiders and collapsing rusty objects, so i'll pass on that one for now lol.
eventually i hope to get a flamberge and a baker rifle, the first ever rifle, pure british ingenuity :P
i also hope to get into metal work when i can get room so i can build custom designed swords and possibly sell some online if i get good enough.

surprised airsoft is banned in new york since real guns arnt lol. probably to stop kids messing round and getting shot by cops or something.

That happened to me the night I finally found a server with good aussie connection. I couldn't uninstall it either. In the end something screwed up the computer and we reset it, and I sold GoW1.

played gears online for the first time, its been going so long now that its overrun by clans and pros, so online noobs or people whove not played for eons die like, instantly. i killed one guy in like, half an hour. the maps are far more maze like than youd think due to all the knee high blocks and walls everywhere.

it wasnt bad i guess, but when i played the singleplayer again i realised exactly how rusty id gotten. i was dying loads on normal simply cause i wasnt ducking fast enough, i got up to raam on the hardest difficulty last time i had it installed, going to take some practice before i'm ready for deathmatch again lol.
