Did you get it? Yep, Assassins Creed



Been playing this the past few days on my (crappy) PC, and I must say, after all the verbal masterbation this game got, I was a little disappointed. It's reallly quite unoriginal, even if it is good at what it does. The storyline and attrocious plot are cringeworthy to the extreme. Plus, you cannot SKIP those stupid plot links inbetween missions, like most games allow you to.

The main character is a complete nobhead from start to finish, and I really wanted to assassinate him!

Despite all of this the game has it's moments, but even the initiallly cool parts of the gameplay become very repetative after a while. I was blown away by Gears Of War, which lived up to all the hype, but somehow I just don't quite 'get' why this recieved so much praise and countless awards? It's good, but not great.

Am I alone here? I feel like it's a sign of getting older when you just don't see the huge appeal in something everyone else is kiss arsing! :blink:

When I say it 'runs' I have to set the game to 640x480 (the lowest stting available) and mess with the other effects settings gauges a bit, but I can get it looking, and more importantly 'moving' quite good. There are some jaggies because of this, but my monitor is only 17" anyways, so it isn't so noticable.

i played it on my dads 360 and i was surprised at how fun faceplanting from 6 floors is:P

i liked the acting and even it the main guys a dick, i thought it was worth playing if not paying for. was pissed off that it came out on consoles months before pcs and dad took it back before i could complete it (i was at the part of the game where breathing sets the city and all its funky lepers at you)

long short, been waiting for this to come out on pc and completely forgot about it, thanks dude, now i have something else on my torrent list :)

Its a fun game when you play it at its best settings but after about 3 missions it gets really really repetative, And the ending is just retarded, But I wont ruin it... What little there is to ruin <_<

What's your machine specs? Mine aren't so great, 2gb ram, Pent Dual core 3.4Ghz with a 7500 LE 512mb gfx card, and I still had to trim the effects settings a bit. With everything off it looked like a total scabby hooer , and Idon't seem how anyone would find the minimum setttings acceptable.

It needs some kind of AR fix also, as well as other minor fixes (Archers spin around like Taz when they fall dead off the tops of buildings. It looks freaky as fuck!) They'll probably come with the first patch.

i got this itchycats thing for free but its not a reliabale way to get games cause theuirs no details and the files are usually twice the size of everywhere else, even if they do go faster i'd hav eto delete most cause they havent got the crack, or arnt crackable without deamontools, and i've had that forced spyware on my comp before and it slowsly killed my intenet, needed to reformat to get rid of it in the end, so i stick to tried and tested for games cause the get feedback to avoid fakes.

Everyone knows that AC did so well in sales because it had a huge marketing campaign which hooked all of your gullable everyday people who thinks they're gamers, but don't know any games that didn't have some million dollar marketing campaign.

That's why AC did so well. Jade could probably sell a turd in a can to thoes same people and make just as many sales as Ubisoft did with AC.

Sorry for the extreme hate. Really if you can make so much money off such a mediocre game, there's something to be said for that. However that doesn't make the game any better.

it was the graphics and what it promised that sold so well, the fact there were no demos (to my knowledge) of regular gameplay, probably helped. its sad that most of the game is avoiding lepers and being chased cause yoru covered in knived and swords, it he was a little more subtle in his appearance (im an assasin, you can tell cause of my massive armoury), the quests didnt become so tedious (now where can i find another pair of identical quests from informants, sit on a park bench and listen in to people or steal a wallet, beat up a guy...and thats it., and the guards didnt slowly become telepathic (by the last level you have a sign on your head saying raep me), it would be a really fucking good game,

some people woudl complain about unskippable cutscenes but i have a problem with dropping pads due to my wrist problems so it doesnt bother me, but double clicking like on dreamfall would probably be best.
over all it was another big ubi mistake like the complete incompatability of splinter cell double agent with life, and thefact there are two different versions of the game, resi evil 4s port, the farcry for the wii (i had never been on a wii before a month or two ago, looked at the back of the farcry box and it has pc or 360 screens, in game theres no real textures, fog about 3 inches away and everything is about 4 polies) ubi has been making some wierd game decisions recently...and the sad thing is their going public stealth again with the next splinter cell, one of my fave series has become 'an hero'

Did anyone actually find AC difficult at ANY point? I haven't played it all that much (3 -4 hours total) but for an assassin ( as you mentined el-b ) your about as stealthy and inconspicuous as Michael Jackson at a kids party. Not that it matters, cos you can kill two (or tree sometimes) guards, inches away form each other, and neither will even notice you killed his pal, with the blind bastard hitting the deck shortly after! I read the game actually becomes EASIER as you get further in, which is a worry, and also doesn't make sense?

My mate finished this on his 360 a while back, he is a total NON gamer really, buys just one game at a time until it's complete. Yeah, really!? And he completed AC within the week!? Are games being made with the gameplay span of a rental or wot!?

Pretty but not playable. Expected from women. I'll admit I like my things pretty. :o

But I actually like them playable too. Not all of us are the same.
