Title: Re5 Ps3 Idea
Description: moddable?

LeonPlisken - March 23, 2009 12:50 AM (GMT)
Well with older xbox 1 games you were able to install things in gta, I just figured with having to install re5 on my ps3, does anyone thing there is anyway to at least texture mod in it?

Satyr - March 23, 2009 03:36 AM (GMT)
I know it will be probably possible to change the textures directly in directX using Textmod On the PC version.Your best bet will be to wait for the PC version to come out so people can identify exactly how this game works and if it's modifiable. Then see if it can be applied to consoles.

el-b - March 23, 2009 03:50 AM (GMT)
if i remember right some copied versions of resi evil 4 have had mods added before they were burned to disc. but i dont know how or where. obviously the mods were made and tested on pc, but the consolve versions most likely use the same folder and file layout as the pc version, i'm guessing it will be possible when there are pc version mods out.

i just wish theyd hurry the fuck up with it lol.

if you put hi rez texture on consoles, I'm sure it'll run in 5 FPS lol

Umm, the game is hella high res enough, I just want to change a few things.

Mainly I think Chris's unlockable Safari outfit is gay and needs redone, but other things for fun.

lulz i saw it too and asked myself if whoever designed those clothes wasn't high at that time .It's just plain gay <_<.They call it a Safari outfit but it doesn't look anything like an actual one (with Safari hat and shit).

mercs in prison with safari...the re5 mercs looks kind of dull actually, waaay less enemies on screen on it. it looks like a duller re4 with mods on and lighting from thsi vid. they seem to be exhanging massive hordes for a few special enemies, i dont think i would enjoy it as much.

can you choose yoru own mercs weapons on 5 or something? he seems to have inf ammo as well on those guns...kind of beats the point in it being a challenge when you can make yourself a god of war after completing the singleplayer once or twice.

No No No! There are 3-4X As many enemies! And they CONSTANTLY Come back. Unlike the limit in re4. You can't choose weapons, but on the ship deck, you can find 3 Rocket launchers and a grenade launcher.

must just be a really crap game then on that run, theres like, 3 at a time lol.

ive have shitty experiences on 4 mercs before, all of a sudden enemies stopped spawning just as you were a few hundred points off the 60k mark and you have a minute or two left...wonder if something similars happened there.

god that pissed me off lol, it was waterworld with hunk, took me 5 tries just to kill the first salvador lol.

Consoles are nothing but mini PC components anymore. They're powerful and I'm sure RE 5 has high resolution textures already since it's meant to be played in Hgh Def.

but consoles tend to have a terrible depth of field level. halo 2 was really well noticable cause of this since when the camera angle snapped in close in a cutscene the character was plain as fuck for a second while the high textures appeared.
gow1 on pc, the timgad area has lots of depth of field glitches, especially on the timgad sign at the beginning.
the dc (my last console, the reason why i'm going so far back here) had a clear line right across the screen where the new textures where put in, very smoothly done, but still very noticable as there were only three textures, high low and med...stalker has like, 8, their all in the same image file as well for some reason.

as modern games go, fallout 3 really breaks down at range on consoles, especially on the ps3 which is the weakest version, (look at the gamespot comparisons). the depth texture/model swaps are a lot smoother nowadays as discs can fit waay more on them.

also, depth of field effects in games mean that a lot of textures could bereplaced by lower quality ones and it probably increases performance. the games industry will cheat processing power whenever they can if it can mean in increase in graphical potential, the fact that it can look awesomes more of a side effect lol.

PS3 version of FO3 is the worst optimized game for PS3 ever.
I just played it on my friend's PS3 and it freeze like every 10 mins, not to mention the poor FPS and draw distance <_<

Shut up... now...

1. I played FO3 through all the way on my ps3, and it never froze at all.
2. The graphics still look pretty damn good.
3. Frame rate? Everything moved really smooth to me.

Look, maybe I'm just not a GRAPHICS WHORE like some people around here and actually care about the game play.

Not everyone can patch their games, I guess... anyway, seriously, ps3 has pretty decent graphics... I mean I got a 360 and a ps3 and never can seem to see a huge difference.

the ps3 version has higher res texture like the PC version, but the draw distance is shorter than the x360.
X360 version has lower res texture than the other versions
