i got this game cheap with resi 4 after my external ate it, and after playing rthe first one was looking forward to a smooth and epic tanking strategy game with great graphics and extra nazis to slaughter.
i havent even got that far yet and i need to vent.
first off, all games take forever to install nowadays so you cant fault it on that, but when i did launch the game it tried to make me make an account...to log in to a game i bought.
then before i can even log in it FUCKING FORCES me to download a 137 meg patch...it takes a while thanks to my shitty aol connection. then just as i think the hell is over IT FUCKING FORCES ME TO GET ANOTHER FUCKING PATCH TEH FUCKING FUICKUGHAEULGBECQIUECBQKRJWECBLWERIUCBLKQGU!! ad verbatim.
this patch has also taken a realy long time and its applying now, i dont even care about playing the game anymore right now, i just want to turn the computer off and go to bed, i'm bored shitless from watching a little grey bar move across a black screen for the last hour and a half. and i bet it is going to try and install another.
what fucking game forces you to update before you can even play the singleplayer, and how is it good design choice to ambush new players with it like the online gestapo. PAPERS OR NO PLAY FOR YOU!
ive decided i'm not going to buy the official sequel to company of heroes when its released, i'm going to download the shit out of that bitch, i'm not supporting a company for making me fall asleep...unless they make beds or something i guess.
turns out i had to take seven of these evil bastards (several over 100 meg) before i could make an account.
i looked it up on google and pretty much everyone who has played this game is disgusted by this decision, especially because i have found out that even downloading the latest patch right on install doesnt work, the autopatch system that wont let you even play the game until you meet its massive and muddied list of confusing demands doesnt recognise an updated game unless you get each and everyone one put on at a time.
wich means i'm going to have to downloadf every patch and put them on my more reliable external for when i put it on again, at least that way i only have to install them, and not download for like 3 hours.
