ive reinstalled splinter cell 2 after ages of not butchering indonesians (its hard to stop) and when it gets to the obligatory system compatability check, there are two things wrong.

first things first, i sys my drivers are too old or out of date, but i just completed crysis warhead again (i spent about two hours on the last level piling up all the trucks jeeps and explosives to make a fireball higher than the hangars next to it).
it tells me to install drivers from the first disk but this would cripple my comp on my newer games.
also my systems cpu frequency (whatever the hell that is) is supposed to be 1000 meg or higher but its at minus 14 million....which seems fine for everything else.

when i start the game up it is insanely jerky (like my crysis fireball on an applemac would be) and there is no sound...pressing escape exits the game (not sure if thats regular on pt but i doubt it)

is my comp just too good for this game now or will the drivers on the disk break my comp?

and what the hell is a cpu frequency? this game worked on my radeon system (before it melted and i upgraded it to this).

CPU refresh rate I believe.. measured in Hz.
