My parents used to drag me to different chruches, different religions...They wanted me to experience different religions so I could chose which one I wanted to become. But during all this I had to wonder...what if there isn't really a higher being? What if God or Allah didn't exist?

I mean, think about it. After all the crap that's happening in the world, would a higher being want us to suffer this way? If so, what kind of higher being is that? Letting His people suffer, live in pain and hate?

Sometimes I pray, but I don't think that God hears me...if he even exists...because my situation doesn't get better.

So, my question would be is do you believe that there is a higher being?

I am taking a class called Myth and its symbols. It explains that certain things are made by man to explain the unexplainable. maybe it is the same for religion. maybe not. It all depends on your opinion. there is an age in the cycle of myth where the gods turn their back on man kind because we have ignored their teachings. It is roughly i would say the iron age (if i remember my ages correctly) and that we are almost going to go through another flood, to wash away all of our sins. Me, do I believe in a higher being? I am open to the possibility of one existing, but right now i don't.
