we know how Zero was created but during the X series there are a number of unexplained sistuations which question just who was in control of all the madness, this theory gives evidence that all the chaos done by Sigma the X Series was really done by Dr Wily.

we know how Zero was Created, and what he was created for, but because Zero is a Reploid, his feelings would get in the way, Dr Wily created a failsafe to ensure that Zero would carry how his duty, this failsafe was the Zero Virus as the Zero Virus in Megaman NT Warrior that Mr Wily created inside Zero to destroy the net is based from the Zero Virus in the X Series in a way, how ever, this Virus was more than any old computer virus or pathagen, it was the essence of Dr Wily as explained below.

now Sigma used to be the head of Maverick Hunter, before he came to be the Maverick we all know and hate and love to kick his butt around the room, in X's ending of X4 you see Sigma being called in due to a rampaging Red Reploid that we see as Zero, during this fight Sigma is almost destroy yet apon defeting him, Sigma contracted most of the Zero Virus which later becomes comman;y known as the Sigma Virus, i'm not sure juts when the Virus get Sigma to become Maverick as "Day of E" (Sigma, i can't seem to add Sigma).

during X2, when you defeat Sigma and Zero comes in, before that Sigma says that he was destinded to follow him and then when you kill the baldy he says in his last words directed to Zero "why? you was the Dr's greatest creation" or something in those lines, we know from here Sigma seemed to know Zero's Creator which is Dr Wily however X2 is when some evidence of the Sigma Virus being Dr Wily himself and here's why,

when you defeat all 3 X-Hunters before you enter their fortress at point 0, you get to encounter "Black Zero", now some say this is an imperfect copy of Zero and can't fight however the real Zero returns to destroy this imposter, however during the scene where Sigma fight Zero we see at one point, where Zero's Crystal glows and a W appears on it, Zero turns into a Balck Zero for a second or two, also, in other games, Zero can get a Black Zero armor, you see this is Zero's original form and Sigma being able to create the Black Zero somewhat proves that Dr Wily is in Sigma (the Sigma Virus), some say that the Zero Virus was Dr Wily's Memories however that measn Zero can create millions of himself then because he knows how to create himself and that is really stupid, the Virus being Dr Wily means that he created the Black Zero to open Zero's eyes.

in X4, when you start a new game as Zero, you see a scene where Zero is sleeping and he wakes to find a figure telling him to "Destroy Megaman X", we can tell fro the voice that the funky hair that this is Dr Wily, Destroying X was one of Zero's duties, some say that this is a loop of Zero's central program but he's a Reploid and acts on his own, this means that some of the Zero Virus in still in Zero (which allows him to become Black Zero) is still inside him and Dr Wily is trying to make Zero remember what he was created for.

in X6, the Dr who created Hi Max (i can't spell his name or even say it as i keep saying it as Cossack) keeps claiming that he knows a great deal about Zero, at the end of X6, Zero and X find the Dr dead and he looks as if his soul was taken out, the fact that he claimed to know a lot on Zero is one thing but him being dead after the chaos of X6 ended and his soul gone shows that some of the Zero Virus went into him when Gate found that peice of Zero.

that's all the evidence i can give on this as there seems to be none in X7+ and in the Zero or ZX series but i think all of this is quite enough, remember this is a theory and may not be the full truth but it does explain a hell lot in the X Series

You do realize on that zero vs sigma cutscene in x4 takes place WAY BEFORE mmx1. As for the black zero part.. I dont remenber reconizing a W on his life support crystal but ill review that.

@Grez: yeh in a way, ofcause i don't carry out this theory in my Megaman Series since when Sigma destroyes the 21XX world and travals back in time to 20XX he steals the in development Virus to implant into Vile, Darlex, Dark Zero to allow them to come back to life after they are destroyed juts like him (all the Elite but Dynamo, Colonel and Agile get it) and to further incress his power

@blazedout: didn't i say that in the 1st post, my bad, i know that, it was when the Zero Virus got into Sigma and is one of the thing that helped Sigma go Maverick

i posted this on another site and i got a reply asking about Dr Weil, beofr someone asks that here i'll clear it up before that happens Dr Weil has nothing to do with Dr Wily, even though their names are almost the same here are the reasons why they aren't the same

1) in the Japaness versions of the Megaman Games, they call Dr Light Dr Right but keep Wily as Dr Wily while in the japaness version of Zero 3-4, they call Dr Weil Dr Vile (remember Vile's japaness name is Vava)
2) even though Weil claims to know Zero, if he was Wily he would surely know that even if he was human, he was not safe from being killed by Zero since Zero was created for evil perposes and apart from the Robot Masters, if had been activated before X, would have been the first Maverick (but ofcause Zero's and Sigma's battle chnaged that)
3) Dr Wily wan'ted to conqure the world, wether or not he created Zero to continue this fater he had destroyed X, Dr Light and Megaman Weil's goal was to make humanity suffer just like him
