This is very terrible, I go to the net and download LimeWire, just when I finish the download, the computer begin very very lag (which spyware detected) even my desktop background give a warning.

I need your help to help me how to get rid of this Spyware, Please tell me which is the best Anti-spyware program....

this Happened to my cousin before you have a virus and you need to take it to a Person who fixes Computers and theyll check it out if you dont then soon you wont be able to get on the Computer for a while

Exceeding Light - June 20, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
There are a couple of things that you can do, but some are kinda risky.

First off, uninstall LimeWire, that's what got you the virus. Next, install the demo of Kaspersky Anti Virus. I can't remember if the demo will let you delete spyware. If so, great! If not, then you're gonna have to pay a hefty bill whether or not you go to a specialist.

Because LimeWire is illegal, you better uninstall in before you go to a specialist.

Limewire isn't illegal. Sharing copyrighted files is. It's like emulation. The emulators are legal, but the ROMs aren't

Anyway, what d'you mean that your desktop background gives you a warning.

Some spywares change the desktop wallpaper to show fake warnings. It is prossible that the spyware he got has that ability.

Install an Antivirus program that detects and deletes spies. Then disable System Restore (System Restore can sometimes save Spies in its restoration points). Then run your Security program and the spy will go away.

If you don't want to install anything, you'll need to do something risky: identify the spy executables and delete them along with their registry keys (if you haven't done that before... it's better to not do it, you can screw up your computer if you do something wrong...)

Offtopic @EL: As Chimeran said, Limewire itself isn't illegal. The illegal thing is copyrighted file transfer. Anyway, where I live, 'Computer Specialists' even install pirated Windows copies to repair computers.

So, should I uninstall Limewire?

Is Kaspersky Anti Virus is the best software for anti spyware?

course now i'm using spybot-search & destroy, will this works?

OK, Kaspersky is not a free software, I can't even use paypal, is too costly for me

First off, what type of computer do you have and what OS is it running?

Exceeding Light - June 21, 2008 06:47 PM (GMT)
Yes, uninstall Limewire.

Spybot is a good option for those who can't afford Kaspersky.

Can you just go to download.com? It's safer and it has no spyware and it let's you know if it contains a adware in it. also about limeware, I think that software really sucks because you can get a virus so easily by downloading a simple program and my dad forces me to uninstall it because of it.
I use windows care personal to fix computer problems, removed spyware and prevents them.(Thats a REALLY nice feature!)

Download.com's not gonna help, because if it has a registered (cracked) version of kaspersky, you could go to jail for downloading it.

no your not going to jail because you download a crack version and you didn't know until you find out. The website will just get sue.

It doesn't matter whether or not you know. You might get a lesser sentance but by willingly using and downloading cracked software you ARE in violation of the law.

Official Netbattler Chaud - June 23, 2008 09:43 AM (GMT)
government can maybe trace your IP address downloading it.

anyway, I will try treatfire and see if it work

Exceeding Light - June 23, 2008 04:41 PM (GMT)
What's treat fire? I don't recognise it, and neither does my dad. My dad's a professional when it comes to computers.

Go ahead and use the kaspersky demo, it's fully functional and if that doesn't work, you WILL need it repaired.

Whatever you do, don't use norton. It's not worth the space it takes up.

SerenadeDS - June 23, 2008 05:53 PM (GMT)
You should have been more careful with LimeWire anyway. Unless you got it from the Official website, it most likely will contain a virus.

Well, hopefully you problem gets fixed.

Not only is not worth the space it takes up, it's also not worth the CPU it uses aswell. I had it on my laptop, and it slowed it to a halt just for those stupid notifications.

Computer Associates is good software to use, I barely notice it running.

I know a website that have completely private and that has keygen and stuff.(I AM NOT GIVING THE ADDRESS! SO DON'T ASK!) if 600,000 people do it each month, its expected. There is NO WAY that they can jell all those people and besides it the same as video piracy and roms and we hack those roms which also consider ILLEGAL! Thats why they spent so much money on piracy proof teck so they can't do it in the first place.

off Topic: use fire fox for spelling

...and I came to my senses and deleted all of my ROMs because it IS illegal and if they catch you, you WILL get a heavy fine or go to jail. Keygen is just as bad. If you use it, you WILL get a heavy fine or go to jail, both of which will show up on your resume, your criminal record, etc. The fact is that such programs are against the law and should not be discussed at this forum.

And in response to you being off topic: Look, my spelling is a non issue here. You bringing it up is only an attempt to self-gratify yourself when you are in a loosing argument. Besides, it's hypocritical to tell me off for misspelling something when you have misspellings in your own paragraph.

Now if the next post isn't on topic, I will lock this.
