This topic is to help out people who need to know how or when to counter a virus or Navi. I've done my best to descirbe them. Please point out anything that seems unclear or wrong.

Mettaur: Any time when it is bent back and the axe is coming forward.
Piranha: After the target makes contact with you, when its mouth begins to open.
HeadyA: Uncounterable. The game claims it to be when the head launches, but there is no counter.
Swordy: When it raises its sword.
KillerEye: After it blinks its eye. Sometime when the first dot appears.
Quaker: Before it jumps. It sort of twitches when its at its counter point.
Catack: After it stops moving, when the little guy comes out of the tank.
Champy: The instant it appears in your area.
WindBox: Uncounterable.
OldStove: Once it stops and starts shaking wildy.
HauntedCandle: Instant the flames appear. Best if Reflector is used.
Puffy: When it starts to puff faster, before a needle is launched.
StarFish: Before a bubble comes out, when it's bent back.
EarthDragon: Instant it appears in front of you. Still counterable after it flies across two panels After roar.
ScareCrow: After lightning is shot. Best if Reflector is used.
PulseBulb: When it opens up but before it fires.
BigHat: During its throwing animation.
BombCorn: When its mouth bluges, but before corn is shot.
Shrubby: When its mouth bulges, but before log is shot.
HoneyBomber: Uncounterable.
Gunner: During the first four shots after it targets you.
FighterPlane: After it stops flying, during first three gun shots.
DarkMech: After Thunder is shot. During his approaching slash.
SnakeArm: During and after it launches at you.
Armadill: Once it finds you, when it begins to roll up.
Cragger: Anytime after the fist is thrown.
Nightmare: During its slice. Best if Long Sword is used.
LittleBoiler: Uncounterable.
Trumpy: When it's bent back, before music plays.
Protoman: Before any of his slashes. During the first movement when he uses Neo Delta Ray Edge.
Blastman: After random movement, hit when he stops but before he puts his arm forward. After twister is shot.
Diveman: When he shoots Dive Bombs, but when the cap is still closed. When he swings his arms to use Tidal Wave, but before he finishes it
Circusman: When he raises his whip in the air. When he twitches, but before he dissapears to become a tent.
Judgeman: A small moment before he raises his whip. Before he raises his arms in the back row.
Elementman: EX and SP only, at second movement wait a small while, hit before he raises his arms up. V1, at third movement.
Colonel: When the screen shakes before his sword comes out. Best if Reflecter is used. When he raises his Rocket Launcher, before missle fire.
Hakushaku: When he puts his arms forward. When he raises his arms to use spires. The instant he glides to the middle panel.
Aquaman: Before he puts out his buster, when he stops for a while. After he twirls, the instant he appears in your area. After water is shot out of hose. Best if Reflector is used.
Tomahawkman: When his axe is about to swing. When he puts his arm back to swing a flying axe. When he his in the air about to land a giant axe.
Tenguman: The instant he shoots his nose forward. When his arm comes forward when using tornados. When he raises his arms and is about to launch himself in a dash.
Groundman: The instant he appears beneath you. When he stops in the back row, before he turns into flying drills or dashes.
Dustman: Instant after ScrapReborn is spitten. When he stops near you to shoot panels. When he begins to inhale for DustBreak.
Heatman: During the time he puts his arms forward. When he lands on your area in a box.
Elecman: When he stops, but before he does anything, little time at any counter point. 1, 2, 3
Slashman: When his claws reach out to attack. Best if Reflecter is used. When his spinning attack reaches two panels in distance. When his arm comes forward using kunais.
Killerman: Before and during scythe attack.
Chargeman: When he appears in your area, before fire shoots out.
Forte: When his guns are shown. Hit when his cape bulges. After a moment of charging his Dark Rings with his arms back. When his sword comes out forward. After his arm comes out forward when using Golem Fist. Before fire comes out of Hell's Burner. When he pulls out his Tank Cannon, counter after shot is fired. After he raises his arm to charge up, but before Dennojuu Breath.
FBeast: When his arm comes forward. After Faltzer Claw appears, but before it ends. Before Tengu Storm fires.
GBeast: When Thunder is shot. After first slash of Grega Claw.
Faltzer: Before his Tengu Storm but before it fires.
Greiga: When he uses his Fire and Electric breath. When he recoils using his tail shot.
Megaman: The instant any chip is used. Reflecter counter most of his attacks.

When my friend used a cross in a battle, when he did his charge, I countered with moonblade, and I actually countered. Watch this vid:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_OM5AxW6mo . It happens around the 2:00 mark. My folder sucked at that time. I made it now an S-coded folder. Who would have thought that you can use chips when stunned? Our games WEREN'T hacked.

You can still Time Freeze Counter while paralyzed. Although countering Megaman is kind of easy.

Is it possible to counter the enemy with the cheat that you wonīt have Time Freeze? e.g. Proto hits an enemy which is going to attack will you get a counter hit?

The heady viruses can be countered the instant they start to move, but only if the aura is gone.

Have you actually scored a counter hit on them? Cause I haven't. I've used Vulcan on that, and that is a sure shot counter.

I'll go test it with airshot. It has the fastest reflex, and I can tell when it happens.

Vulcan shoots like 3 times a second but there are 20 frames per second.

I am a countering master. My Vulcans are instant Full Sync. I would have noticed it if it were true.

Yeah, but the counter window is that 20 frames. The airshot will hit. I'm conifdent in my reflexes.

I decided to show you up, and use supervulcan after 2 areagrabs, standing on the back panel, against a 500 HP heady virus...and you were right.

Why would he close it? Better forms ofountering enemies should also be listed. Maybe a recommended chip.

I should mention times.

Vulcan/AirShot is the fastest shot type attack. You can safely fire these when the enemy hits their counter point.

Cannon is a tad slower, so you will have to fire a little before the counter point begins.

Mini Bomb is the slowest type of attack. You'd best not try countering with these. But on some enemies, it is possible...

While thats true, many enemies can pass through it. I also just found out that a well timed copydamage can counter.

Or... You could just hack a chip to counter the enemy when it attacks... That works too.

You could counter and and go to full syncro so they turn blue when its time to counter.
