Title: Favorite Semi - Truck
Description: Please Vote
Mr Bear - November 20, 2008 12:53 AM (GMT)
Man, I have such a variety to vote from. I like Kdubs because of the looks and comfort, I like Peterbilts, just because they look cool, I like Volvo because of Aerodynamics, and I like Western Star because they can pull tough crap, but I have to say my overall vote is Kenworth. I have loved them since I was 5 and probably always will.

They are good, but I just think they are hard on the truck.. Old school is the way I go :)
BRANDON - November 24, 2008 02:05 AM (GMT)
how are they hard on the truck??? there is no gear grinding just step on the throttle and go and they also hold you back going down a hill like a standard and thats why i like them...

Not always. However not to hijack this thread but I do recall that Hyundai made some absolutely awful transmissions and still do.

When you stand on the Throttle, you rev the rpms up and it stays up because it shifts in such a high RPM, causing bad fuel mileage when you are in traffic jams, and in cities. Sure its cool when you get going and going down hill, but up hill, its hard because it downshifts with the rpms high, and that to me is just hard on your ol' cummins ;)

have you ever rode in one or drove one???? cause in my cuz's kenworth lowboy truck the lever to shift the trans into drive reverse or neautral is mounted right along side of the driver seat like were your shifter would be for an 18speed or what ever you have.. its a 4700 allison its got seven forward gears and if your in a traffic jam you can keep it in first or what ever you need to do and they dont shift at high rpms unless you have the sucker just floored then it will... I for one love it
