He's not talking mobile homes, he's talking a house like a 2 story brick house. They can't go 50mph,

Oh. Alrighty then

That still wouldn't work because for the most part those houses travel 5 miles tops, however in the game you have to go at least 300 miles.

it can work it will just take longer and pay better

Who moves an entire house assembled?

Seriously, I understand the modular thing, but the entire 2-story brick family home?! Not only is it illogical, highly unlikely it's going to happen too.

It would at least be broken into pieces to be moved, and is very rare then, too.

Complete house/building moving is pretty common and something that has been done for a long time. But like I said earlier the majority of the time it's for very very small distances.

Multi-page article on it:

Houses definately get moved while together, my family when i was 4 moved a house about 50 miles from a different town to my town, then again moved a log house about 90 miles from a town to our farm, both completely disassembled from the basements the were sitting on, picked up by a crane with supports, set on a semi, hauled the 50 and 90 miles, then set down on the pre-poured basement... so yeah houses are moved in real life, last month i had to wait for a house to go by to use a back road, because it was too wide, and i dont think they go as slow as 5 mph, i think its about 15 or 20, thats just a guess from seeing them move though

bigcody - November 25, 2008 06:48 AM (GMT)
you watch the show called mega movers they use jacks and dollies to move the house or sometimes huge buildings wieghing upwards of 300 tons asembled from point A to point B

The local catholics church nuns house got bought, and it was a 2 story brick house, they demolished the garage, and moved it about half a mile up the street, they had to close some of the streets, take down power lines. It happens more then you think.

N. Reeki - November 25, 2008 06:50 PM (GMT)
I still don't see the point in it. We're not moving these things over 300 miles, you guys said yourself the most is about 5 miles. Personally, I don't think it's going to work with the current game design, but that's up to the admins.

maxwell - November 25, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
Doo rider you are watching too much discovery channel. Anyway going 10mph at 10ppm is only 2600$ per day, or 78000 a month. You make better now. :gunes:

Black Mamba - November 25, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah I think this is way too specialist, moving whole houses, even though i'd be shorter distances and at higher ppm its too much out of the ordinary.

What I like though is the general idea of having another specialist cargo where you need a very high driver rating for. But 2-storey brick houses...ummm?!
Maybe we can find something else...

maxwell - November 25, 2008 08:20 PM (GMT)
I will suggest something, just thought of it.

renegade - November 26, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
i still like it the 300 mile limiter can be taken off if this was to become a real thing on here

Well the game is still in ßeta 1.0, and while I'm not really sure if/when the ßeta level is ever going to change, but I think by ßeta 1.5 if not 2.0 the 300 mile limit may not even be around anymore.

Drow - November 26, 2008 04:40 AM (GMT)
actually I see it a fair bit here in west aus, people buy prefab transportable homes, and want them in th ecountry. problem is all the people who build them are in the city, so they get moved by truck, usually in 2 pieces, with the concrete pad being laid on site.
they also move at around 60km/h or so, so about 25-30 mph.

Fisha695 - November 26, 2008 11:38 AM (GMT)
Those are more or less Modular homes, and not exactly the same thing the OP was suggesting, he was suggesting more along the lines of a regular "Timber Frame" style house.
