Title: Speed governor/rev limiter

as a purchase item. flatlines max speed at say 65 or 70 mph, reduces tickets by 10%?
here in australia, all trucks are nominally supposed to be fitted with a governor to keep their top speed to 90km/h or less... admittedly, most of them seem to have "critical failures" virtually straight away, but still (actually I believe more than a few drivers have their governors rigged to a switch so they can turn them on for random inspections, and keep them turned off the rest of the time)

looks good but some disadvantages

Reduce ticket prices? Or ticket occurances? Either way, I would rather run +5 over the given speed, and never get a ticket. :)

i dont like this idea, because well... i dont get tickets, because i dont go over the speed limit, excluding while on my cell phone and it doesnt properly load the screen and i go 85 in a 60 zone, but that wasnt my fault lol, anyways it would make people in NA and Europe have an unfair advantage in getting DR, because if Australia was limited to less MPH then they cant haul nearly as far in the same amount of legs

Plus if we were going for realism, uk trucks are limited to 56mph (even though our laws allow them to run at 60 on motorways - stupid EU); a law which applies to all european lorries. That makes anything above about an i8200 pointless in game (I picked the 8200 just for a little leeway in condition)

Its called self-control. Don't go over 5 MPH over the speed limit and you wont get tickets. Terrible idea, means I cant do 98 on my last leg if I need to get there quick to complete a contract in time or w/e.

ya this is a pointless idea if your dumb enough to speed its your fault

As in trucking, so too in Truckz. If you speed you get a ticket and you'll have noone to blame but yourself in either case.
