this is really stupid
Black Mamba - November 28, 2008 07:25 PM (GMT)
So they say in the papers there Ive heard. I think it may have not been sent by the top though but there could have certainly been involvement by some right-wing elements within Pakistani intelligence to sabotage the improving relations at government level between India and Pakistan.
We will see what will come of it and what they find out...
Hope you and your friends and family are ok 100Trucker.

I look at it this way, this is just another reason why EVERYBODY needs to have guns and needs to be trained on how to use them.

Yeah especially for that moment in EVERYBODY's life when they are REALLY PISSED OFF. Giving them a gun would be a wonderful, marvelous idea!

Somebody comes into my hotel (or whatever that place is) room with a gun threatening me, I'm going to kill them before they get the chance to kill me or other people that have done nothing wrong.

Uh huh and the same will be true if a family member walked in at an awkward time when you were not expecting them.

So..... you're going to ensure that you are licensed and registered in every potential place that you may travel to? Highly unlikely....
Nicholas - November 29, 2008 06:57 AM (GMT)
I don't carry a gun on me while in the U.S. But when I travel to a foreign country (Not in most European countries) I do carry a weopon with me.(Registered under someone elses name) and regardless usually not traceable unless you take a photo and put it on the gun... I will admit it because the simple fact is that we are more safe in the U.S. Not to mention the criminals we do have here compared to other countries are 1. not very experienced and 2. morally binded.
So having a registered gun relevant? To me not really. Having a gun relevant? To me very relevant. You go to a middle eastern country and don't carry a gun... I am not Tony Stark to be building some huge robot if I am kidnapped.

The effects of a gun owner going nuts are far outweighing the benefits of you being able to defend yourself in a time of crisis.
And Im pretty sure that you are far more likely to die in a traffic accident in India or Pakistan than fall victim to a terrorist attack. Same goes for the US or elsewhere...
Im not anti-guns but the situations where you really need them are very very rare. Hunting rifles are ok though, unless you wanna play Matrix, you wont carry them concealed anyway. :ph43r:

No I'm sure I can tell the difference between a family member and some dude waving a gun yelling at me.
Even then you don't shoot to kill you shoot to disable, take out their knees or their arms.

I am not anti gun, but your posts show complete and total ignorance. According to the National Safety Council's "Odds of dying 2007 survey", you are 60% more likely to shoot and kill a family member than you are to shoot and kill an intruder. So go on, you can take that risk, of constantly arming yourself and all the consequences that come with it. Also, there are many situations that a firearm will make much worse, not better.

Alco, do you HAVE to turn every topic into an argument? And I don't buy that "survey" you've quoted. Give me a link to that survey, then yeah. But that was 07. This is 08. Almost 09! Citing a study nearly two years old....wow. Why don't we start citing studies from 1920 then?

I don't care if your family member or not but if you are breaking into my house at 3am screaming and yelling you are going to get shot.
You can use your little surveys all you want, but Surveys only represent the data they collect which is not all the data there is.
