What good new cars are out there. State your car if you wish. Also the cool new gadgets being made for cars. :D Don't turn this into an argument I felt like doing something fun for once.
I have 2 cars and thinking of getting another. I have an 06' 300 C chrystler, a lexus IS 250, and recently thinking of buying...

. I can't live without GPS I am horrible at remebering locations. So yea thank you techies for inventing GPS :)

Lexus is nice because it is part of the Toyota line. The 300C is a horrible car. Nothing but a crapified Mercedes E class.

I am a strong supporter of bmw and volvo cars. I will be putting my mother in a bmw 3 series or a volvo next. Volvos dealership service is second to none.
BRANDON - December 5, 2008 11:47 AM (GMT)
nicholas, how much horsepower does that lexus have thats a nice looking car there.. If i were to buy a new car now i think i would look at the new dodge challenger thats a nice looking car I think.. and if i were to buy a new pickup i would like to have a new chevy colorado with a 5.3V8 there offering the V8 finally this year...or a gmc 1500

Volvo's aren't quite the car they used to be. But you can't go wrong with a BMW.

Personally I'm more into old cars than newer ones, but then again, everything in my life has been old so far. I'm living in a house built in the 1800s, my computer is about 5 years old, and I still play some of the videogames that I had when I was a kid.
With that, time to get back on-topic.
I LOVE the new Chevy Silverado's styling.

Look at all the chrome on the front bumper. The thing looks like a toy. ICK
N. Reeki - December 5, 2008 03:17 PM (GMT)

Sheesh, look at that bumper set. Looks like a crappy tuner.

Thats called a concept car, they look like crap for a reason. The truck you posted however, was a real model for sale. I'll be glad once GM goes under and all those crappy trucks will slowly die off.

Agree with you on the Challenger, but I feel Ford just wanted to be the first to come out with the "Retro" cars and threw the mustang together a little to fast in my opinion. Although the 2010 looks a little more time thought out.

I wouldnt mind having a 2009 ford F350 fat boy or F450 with a 6.4powerstroke diesel and 6speed stick
JD3020 - December 5, 2008 09:31 PM (GMT)
We have a F-450 and its nice. Really smooth. Probably rides better then Alcos Toyota. So far our 6.4 hasnt really had any problems. I think it was the radiator cap or something wouldnt stay tight, but i think they had a recall for it. But my favorite looking truck is the OBS(old body style) fords.

The best part is it will outlast any import, other then maybe a diesel VW.
As for cars, i liked the Mustang, but its now the Civic of the muscle cars. Im in love with the Challenger, but my first car will probably be a diesel VW Jetta. 40-50 mpgs and pushing 330 horses and 4-500 lb ft of torque with upgrades.
BRANDON - December 5, 2008 09:54 PM (GMT)
nice looking old ford JD, Im in love with the new body style myself

Yeah, i hate Chevys new front end, GMCs are ok, Dodges wasnt really changed, but i think Ford did really good with the new super dutys. The interiors are awesome. But i believe in 2010 Ford is coming out with another body style, and that will be the end of the Powerstroke. 2010 and the Powerstroke will be no more. But another awesome truck is the Ford Raptor. The first ever production Baja based truck.

I also agree i like the OBS fords myself. This is my old truck. The 1996 f-350 i had.

BRANDON - December 5, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
nice mack man love the john deere plate on the front.. JD the new fords are going to be the same the hoods are going to be a little higher for the new 6.7 scorpion motor with 6speed automatic and i do belive manual..
JD3020 - December 6, 2008 12:38 AM (GMT)
I did a quick search and came up with this. Id say that if they are changing the F-150, then the Superduty will see some more changes, but we wont know for a while.

It is an LS 460. Has 380HP goes 0-60 in 5.4 secs. I don't need huge amounts of speed though I just need something that looks shiny. :P I love the new cars from lexus and mercedes. I don't like toyota, ford, or GM. I am more into the modern look than that old pickup look. No offense to anyone it is just my own personal taste and I am HORRIBLE at technical stuff with cars.
The 300 C has been a really good car for me. It is big and still looks nice which is why I like my 300 at all. My first car was a toyota but it broke down WAY to much. This is back in college when I was on my own and all I could afford was a 1995 toyota. I forgot the model I do remeber it was a sedan and after about a year and 30k miles it went to the junker it was so bad.
Like I said though not offending anyone it is just my personal preference. I am not car savy and I won't argue with anyone over it for 2 reasons.
1. I couldn't go into detail about the technical stuff that may have made it so bad.
2. I don't want to argue about what car is better than the next it is just how I like my cars. I simply like modern cars that look shiny and have alot of gadgets. :P
Alco PA1 - December 6, 2008 05:35 AM (GMT)
If you don't like Toyota I dont understand why you like Lexus. Lexus is part of the Toyota family and the LS460 is very similar to a Toyota Camry.
Nicholas - December 6, 2008 05:48 AM (GMT)
I love lexus and I don't get how a toyota and a lexus could be related in anyway. I had that experience with my first car and decided to never buy a toyota again. The IS I got was what got me liking lexus. It is a great car. But yea I just don't like toyota because of the look. I have driven toyotas from the 95' I had but I can't see myself in one again.
Besides toyota cars aren't a beutys to keep your eyes on. Like I said I am horrible at the technical stuff. I just like how the car looks. So if they are of the same line or whatever then it is probably just the look and bad experience putting me away from toyota.

This diagram explains how Lexus is a branch of Toyota.

And observe the striking similarities between the LS450 and the Camry

I rest my case.

Alco, nice chart. Where did you find that?
The LS460 may essentially be a Camry but I sat in the back of a LS460L at the LA Auto Show last week and it may look like a Camry but it sure doesn't feel like a Camry.
Nicholas - December 6, 2008 07:00 AM (GMT)
Not really. You proved mine. The toyota is buffer. The LS is sleeker and for damn sure better looking. The slight differences in a car is what makes all the difference. It is like clinton and obama. They have very small differences but those small differences make ALL the difference.
Like the saying goes "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." this beholder prefers lexus. :P I'm done man don't turn this into a back and forth. Let people just have a discussion without it becoming a dilema.
Kudos on the chart though it proves how the automotive companies are all connected in one way or another.

Personally I prefer Toyota. Toyota is more of a man's car. Lexus is nice, but its something you are more likely to see a grandma driving.
BRANDON - December 6, 2008 11:45 AM (GMT)
out of those two cars the lexus looks the best just becuase of the lines the only thing that will keep me from buying a car is winter, hunting, and work.. I need a truck for all of them.. thats just me though and 380hp in that car will get up and go man they cant weight that much

Of course not. Either Western Star will seperate itself, like EMD did from GM, or someone like Mitsubishi or Izuszu would by them up.
BRANDON - December 6, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
ok i was just wondering cause freighshaker and western's are big names on the road and that would be terrible to see them leave..
