Title: Forum Move

Lydias - December 9, 2008 02:18 PM (GMT)
We will shortly be moving the Trukz forum over to our own servers. The primary reason for this is that we need the forum on our own hardware and under our own community aegis.

We can appreciate that this might come as a surprise; but we also hope that you will understand that as a company it makes sense for us to host on our own hardware. (As a truck company would you prefer to own your Truk or rent it from someone else and operate under their rules and restrictions? ;) )

We had initially hoped to migrate all of the existing posts and user accounts over to the Jolt forum, however it now appears that this will not be possible.

The migration will follow the following stages:

1) All users that wish to post on the new forum are required to create a new user account on the Jolt forum which can be accessed Here. We would suggest that you use the same email account for this that you used on this forum. The moderation team is in the process of setting up the new Jolt forums to be as close to the current ones as possible and hopefully, you should not notice too much change. Your moderation team will, of course, be coming over to the new forum :).

2) All new posts from this moment on should be made on the Jolt forum; however we will leave this forum open until Saturday 13th December.

3) On Saturday at 18:00 GMT this forum will be made read only, however your posts will not be lost and a link to this forum will be available in the archives section of the new Jolt forum for people to look up old posts.

The contest results will be announced when the competition finishes, on the Jolt forum so watch out for that! Oh, and this is not the Christmas, er...Holiday Surprise…

Yes, spammers will be reduced on our part of the forum. Most spammers will be stopped at the main jolt forums and not get to us!

Also, I encourage all of you to register at the new forum. It looks almost identical to this forum. Please lets make this as quick and easy as possible.

I just made an account and it looks just like this forum.

jefffan24 - December 9, 2008 02:37 PM (GMT)

Unfortunately we will loose all post counts. Also everyone will start at a 0% warn level.

Well thats stupid...all this work of getting mine up for nothing...there is no way to add on this new forum?? For people that care?

Lydias will have to comment on this too. Maybe Lydias can do something but I do not know. I would like to keep my post count to but I don't know if that is possible.

P.S. If you have any questions, I am open to PM's about this.

adams901 - December 9, 2008 02:51 PM (GMT)
If people seriously want to keep their post count I'm sure we can accomodate this.

Thanks you Adams :)

hiwire - December 9, 2008 03:35 PM (GMT)
I am not sure I quite understand the whole issue of post count. I always thought of that as just people that couldnt find anything important to say trying to look important but maybe I have missed something. Is there a rating system or a contest involved? Will everyone keep their posts or only those that ask?

Lydias - December 9, 2008 03:46 PM (GMT)
Only those that ask as Adams has to do them all manually

Masking should be quicker this time. All mods can mask now!

Thanks Gravedigger.
It was a bad day at work, and I guess I took out my frustrations here.
My appologies.
