Title: Companies

admin - March 13, 2007 07:16 AM (GMT)
Companies allow drivers to interact with one another and cooperate in the game. The following is a complete list of requirements to start a company:

- A startup investment of $7,000 by the company founder, known as the company CEO, is required to create a company. $5,000 of this is automatically used to purchase the company's first terminal.
- Company founders need to have logged at least 10,000 miles in the game.
- Company founders must not have any existing loans in the game.
- Company founders must not be a member in any existing company.
- Company founders must currently own a truck in the game.
- There can only be one CEO per company.

There are many possible benefits to being a member of a company in Trukz. Companies can provide members assistance based on percentages of repair fees, fuel costs, and ticket fees. The fees that the company assists its members with come out of the company’s budget so it will be up to the CEO to manage the company carefully and select assistance percentages that the company can afford as well as hire members who will be responsible drivers for the good of the company. Other BIG benefits of belonging to a comany are zero fatigue penalties for refueling and repairing while at a company terminal as well as increased profits on route collections for hauling company prefered cargos. See the routes topic for more details on driver pay calculations.

Any player can start a company as long as they have the necessary funds and are not currently a member or CEO of an existing company. If you are already a member of an existing company you will need to leave the current company you are working for. Once you leave your current company the Create a Company link will appear on the Trukz left navigation menu. To start the company you will need to give a name for your company and then choose percentages for route collections, repair assistance, fuel assistance, and ticket assistance. These percentages are important because this is where new drivers would decide if they like your company based on the percentages that would be taking away from there pay on end route collections and how much assistance they would receive for their repair, fuel, and ticket assistance from your company. Even drivers who are working for other companies might quit their company and come work for your company, becuase they might like the percentages you have set for your company over their existing company. Once a company is created the CEO will have access to the following screens:

Main Display: After you create your company the View Company link will appear in the Trukz navigation menu. This screen will display all the details of your company, link you to additional company options, and it is also the place where others drivers will place an application to work for you.

Applicants: To view the drivers who have applied for your company go to the View Applicants link and you will see the information of your driver applicants. If you need more details on a particular applicant click on the driver’s name. This will take you to the driver's information display screen and from there you can view the applicant's routes (if they were late or on time) and if they have any tickets on their driving record. This is important because you want good drivers to work for you, to get the shipment on time and not late to the company. At this point you can choose either to approve or deny the application.

Terminals: Company terminals are located in cities of the company CEO's choice and represent primary operation centers for your company. Company terminals provide a 10% bonus for goods delivered to a city with a company terminal. Company terminals appear on the map as blue markers where as non-company terminal city locations appear as red markers on the map. Each company can have up to 10 terminals. Each company is allowed to select one headquarter terminal. Headquarters provide 25% reduction in the cost of fuel and repairs for drivers who are currently in the headquarter city and NOT currently in-route.

Ledger: You can also view your company transactions by going to the View Ledger tab. The ledger like a bookkeeping of your company’s money where all of your transactions are recorded. Here it will show your income on what comes in and what goes out. It also keeps a record of your money of the date and time of the transaction, the reason for it and how much you spent. Income will be shown in green and expenses in red.

Edit: You also have the option to edit your company at any time via the Edit Company tab. This will allow you to go into your company and do some changes to your Collection Percentage, Repair Assistance, Fuel Assistance, and Ticket Assistance. Be careful if you do decide to go up on your percentages you could lose some drivers that work for your company.

How do you change a member's, in your company, job title.

Duncan007 - July 13, 2007 04:19 PM (GMT)
It should Also be added that you can't start a company with existing loans.

Assuming this is to be added, wouldnt that be contrary to most RL businesses? Businesses are started with loans all the time

Duncan007 - July 13, 2007 06:57 PM (GMT)
No, The current setup doesn't allow you to start a company with any loans, as i found out today, therefore the OP needs updated

Billy Bob Fischer - July 13, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
This set up doesn't seem very realistic to me. Loans are usually a big part of the set up cost in starting a new business.

You don"t mention additional co. I just started a co. and can"t find out how to buy more terminals. Do you have to be a co. for so long? How much do additional terminals cost? thx for the help

LyNkS - August 17, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
Go to terminals, click a city, click the city name, click purchase terminal.

King C - August 20, 2007 07:35 PM (GMT)
On the edit, I notice there isn't something to edit your company name. I was curious if you are able to do this and it wasn't mentioned, or are you stuck with the name?

AlexG - August 21, 2007 12:34 AM (GMT)
You can change it. It is the 3rd option down. Under Company CEO, and Cash Available.

King C - August 21, 2007 12:44 AM (GMT)
K, I didn't know. Don't have a company  .....yet ;)

Allnighte - August 28, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
FYI:
"Each company can have up to 10 terminals."
That should be 20

I noticed this as well. Was going to ask why there is a maximum of 10 terminals and a couple companies have more than that - 1 having 18 !

This should be changed in the original post to reflect the accurate number of terminals a company can have.

How do company wages work?

How do company wages work?

say a company has a 10 percent collection. wages come out of the driver collections. so if a driver gets $1000 for finishing a route, the company takes $100 from that. if you have a 1% wage, you get $1 from the $100 that the company collected from the driver.

How do you disolve a company?

Vor - January 21, 2008 01:38 PM (GMT)
Run it into the red, or hand over control to another player.

winstonopia - January 26, 2008 04:50 AM (GMT)
what constitutes an 'active' player? Online within the last 24 hours? Has run a route in the last 24 hours? Some other timeframe?

It's probably like 7 days or so to become inactive.

Ok....so ive been trying to get deemed a CEO of a company for about a week now and had no success. i pm'ed the person in charge of giving someone authority to post in the ceo room but got nothing. i dont know if theres a reason i cant get authorized or what. the only thing i can see being a problem is that i owe $.01 on a loan, but it says its repaid. i know people that requested ceo mask after me are posting in the restricted room. anyone got any suggestions?

Knockoff Norman - February 17, 2008 12:00 AM (GMT)
Just wait, it takes time for someone to go trhough the list. In the meantime just use in game PMs to advertise.

Also, there is no relation to any in-game situation to the speed of mask updates.

I think you can go to that company's page and you'll already have a button to leave that company or cancel the application.

I have company CEO and I don't have other drivers so I don't want company but I don't know how can I cancel my company.

Cummins97 - May 27, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
You can either give it away to someone that wants it or run the money into the negative then liquidate it..

I agree with you on this one JD3020. Well actually there is only one area that you can recruit at. That is the Trukz Companies at which you having to get masking privileges if you are a CEO of your company, or VP, or Communications Mgr if I am not mistaken. Only then you are able to recruit, but anywhere else is prohibited under the rules and regulations of the forums.
