Title: More Trucks
Description: Place truck suggestions here!
OverSurge - January 29, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
Place your truck suggestions here! Placing them here DOES NOT mean they will be created. It just makes us aware of them.
Jason BD - January 29, 2008 01:28 AM (GMT)
I was thinking if we could get some more cabover trucks (flat nose)
there is only 3 of the 36 trucks in total that are cabovers
1994 Freightliner FLB
1989 Kenworth K100
1981 Peterbilt 352
There are no new cabovers only one's under $5000 i'm shure there is
alot of cabover fans on this game

Hi Guys,
I started work on this yesterday as, although I'm enjoying "driving" the Trucks in the game... I have to say that I've never even seen a single one of them on the roads anywhere within Europe.
Obviously I've heard of them but I feel its a little unrealistic driving all these conventional trucks over the European continent.
So I've come up with some suggestions I hope will be considered, I have included some information which I think is fair, and some pictures which I hope conform to the requirements for inclusion.
If not I'm more than happy to do some of the background work involved if they are to be considered for inclusion.
Trucks:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2001 Mercedes Actros

Top Speed: 52MPH
Fuel Capacity 200
MPG 5.9
Load Limit 50,400Lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2002 Volvo FH12

Top Speed: 50MPH
Fuel Capacity 220
MPG 6.2
Load Limit 50,000Lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2004 IVECO Stralis

Top Speed 58MPH
Fuel Capacity 200
MPG 7.8
Load Limit 51,000Lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2005 Scania R470 Topline

Top Speed 60MPH
Fuel Capacity 210
MPG 5.8
Load Limit 52,200Lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2002 MAN TGA

Top Speed 55MPH
Fuel Capacity 220
MPG 7.6
Load Limit 52,000Lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2006 Renault Magnum

Top Speed 59MPH
Fuel Capacity 210
MPG 5.9
Load Limit 51,400Lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2005 DAF XF

Top Speed 58MPH
Fuel Capacity 220
MPG 8.4
Load Limit 52,000Lbs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I know obviously none of those figures are "real" especially with the MPG, but I have tried to fit all those figures in with the other trucks in the game to keep things fair.
I think that the selection of trucks above would give a far more realistic approach to the European arena and certainly make it feel a little more homely. Especially If I could have my beloved Iveco Stralis included cool.gif
I hope they will be considered, and if there is anything at all I can do to help that then you have only to ask!
All the best,
Scarab

Not sure where you are from mate but all those Volvo's in the game aren't available for sale in Europe at all!
Volvo don't actually sell a "conventional" cab design within Europe. The only people who did are Scania with their "T-Cab" (as we call them) and they stopped making that last year.
Its also not the best looking truck around!

Im shamelessly bumping this guys stuff as I think hes taken the time to do allot of the leg work for the game makers. Plus even though I dislike EU trucks for their looks the EU drivers deserve to have EU based trucks!!!! Cmon oversurge!!! =P

I think instead of focusing on more American trucks now, they should focus on adding Europeon trucks to the game to make the Euro side more realistic...
trailertrash - February 3, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
Great job Scarab putting together the list of trucks for Europe. There should be Euro trucks in Europe. As for North America I'd like to see a Volvo 730 for all the flatbedders out there and maybe a new pete 387. There really should be some kind of Peterbilt on that last page.
Haulinazz - February 3, 2008 04:28 AM (GMT)
I would like to see a peterbilt 386 added to the game as there is currently not one offered and it would be a good compromise between a full on aerodynamic truck (387) and the more traditionally styled trucks (379/389 etc).

As a driver who works for a LTL freight carrier id like to see more day cabs. 1 Mack on the last page is all there is offered in game currently and I had to buy a sleeper cab cause I couldn't afford the breakdowns on my International!

I lived in Europe(Romania) most of my life...I remember Volvo trucks but honestly I don't remember the models...But looking over the lot again I don't see any flat nose Volvo trucks so yea you have a good point...I did see some Kenworth and International trucks back home though(one would be the 1997 Kenworth W900)...they use them to haul huge parts and equipment for construction and drill sites...I live in the US now so I guess I got used to the trucks here more :)
it would be nice if they built 2 separate truck markets...one for each continent

Thanks for the bump mate, preeshyadeit
Yes I did do as much of the leg work as I could as it just seems to make the most sense, its a bit disappointing reading this thread and seeing people just say "Id like the International XYZ"
The developers give us a good game to play, free of charge if you can't/wont donate, if you want something more then do a bit of work. That list there took me probably 7 or 8 minutes to put together, hardly any work at all, and lets be honest, we've all got 10 mins to kill at some point haven't we, especially if you get a mechanical failure in game and loose a FP repairing.
next time you have to wait an hour for your FP to go down why not just grab some pics off the net, resize them to the proper size and stick some stats down like I did.
I'm hoping that the Developers take some of my options because I tried to help them out rather than putting more work on their plate.
Keep the suggestions coming though guys! especially from Europeans! one day I dream of looking at the Trukz truck lot and seeing a vehicle I've heard of :D

DanTaylor - February 5, 2008 03:26 AM (GMT)
Yeah no worries man. Id love for you EU drivers to have the proper trucks to drive on that continent. Seems only fair as we get the correct trucks to drive in the NA.
pickle - February 5, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
I think we should be able to individualize the avatars.... I think the game would be alot more fun if it was more about customizing the trucks.. I think making money will just get old after awhile if the only thing you can do is buy the same truck everyone else has... I dunno
I STILL LIKE THE GAME, but I'm a gear head, I want my truck to be different, maybe having a paint job option where you could have different versions of the same truck, be it color schemes & graffix, tu-tone & murals, neon, etc.....
Rat Rod - February 5, 2008 11:57 PM (GMT)
Yeah it'd definitely be cool to be able to customize your truck, although I have to wonder if that'd be going beyond the scope of this game.

i'd like to see some more macks on the game and a few pete 359's also and a kw w900a
big trucker - February 8, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
i think there needs to be a 1995 or 96 truck and a 02 or 03 that way it will help the drivers from :explosion:

I think this thing (just unveiled today at the Chicago Auto Show) would be a pretty interesting addition...

Now theres and idea... more Pete's'. At least a brand new one on the last page. Ya know a really nice day cab or a new flat top.
We need new Pete's' :psycho:
Totalhauler - February 8, 2008 05:06 PM (GMT)
I think at a minimum, we need a few trucks to fill the gap between the $30k Volvo and the $45k Volvo.
$15k is a big jump... when there are trucks above and below those two that are only $2-4k apart in cost.
Here are a few I found with a quick search...
2001 Kenworth W900:

2002 Freightliner:

2003 Freightliner:

2003 Peterbilt 379:

Scarab - February 19, 2008 10:04 AM (GMT)
If anyone wants Euro trucks just check the post I made way up the top of this topic.
I didn't post the real fuel economies with them as it would be unfair if they suddenly dumped in a load of trucks with 10mpg+
I don't think there's many companies, apart from unusual load hauliers, that would buy a truck that couldn't get 9mpg these days.
