Title: February Forum Rules Amendments
Description: Additions and Changes
dmw devil - February 4, 2008 04:29 PM (GMT)
1) Linking to other online games will henceforth be a warnable offense. There will be a 2-week grace period (i.e. until February 18th) during which you can remove any such links from your signature and such posts will be given verbal warns just in case you "didn't know". After that, the full warn will come into effect.
2) Gravedigging will now be classified as posting in a topic that has not had a post in the last 1 month. If you would like to "re-open" such a topic, you can start a new one and link-reference the old one. This includes the Bug Report forum. Exclusions include the company advertising forum and the Game Guide (though really most of the Game Guide posts would do well as new topics in the Question Center). (Amended September 2nd, 2008)
Gravedigging
Gravedigging is not allowed anywhere on the forums. Gravedigging will now be classified as posting in a topic that is dead and has no active discussion regardless of time. 30 days is a good reference point, though. Your warn level will be raised if you are caught doing this. To be more specific
I'm keeping this topic open for now so people can ask intelligent questions. If anyone has any complaints or other comments, PM a staff member. If I see anything other than intelligent questions, you will be liable to receive a warn.

I think we'll let that one go, since I've seen a few other people with it. And your not spamming it everywhere or pushing people to play it, it's just casually in your sig, your fine.

Wait, we have a new rule that games are not allowed in sigs unless moderator approved? Why not have the rule state this instead of an all out ban? Maybe I'm reading this first rule wrong?

The question, of course, is what counts as a "game" for these purposes. Other text-based or player-interactive games are certainly out of the question, but if there's something that may fall under a gray area, it can't hurt to ask the administration.
Would you like to query us about something in particular? Please PM someone :^)

When someone describes thier own link as a game, I'm pretty sure it's a game. I have no problem with the "gray areas" which may be things like drawball, but I can see new members recieving warns for linking to online games and using the defense I saw XXX with a game in thier sig, when this had been ok'ed by previous mods. I think it would be more helpful for you guys to just add "moderator approved" to remove any doubt and it gives a non-warning solution to the gray areas. The rules should model the reality that is being enforced. Do you agree?

No grave-digging violation for a stickied thread, but Connerman still gets a warn for trolling against two post by forum moderators/admins.

If you are caught Gravedigging, how long do you have to wait to appeal that warn?
