Title: With Love From Belgium! :)

Agneton - February 24, 2007 10:05 PM (GMT)
Hello to everyone! I live in Belgium and one of my favourite music
styles is Uplifting, together with Nitzhonot. Like most of you know,
there is no such thing as an Uplifting scene in Belgium or anywhere else
in Western Europe. The only way I am connected to this music is by buying
CD's and searching through numerous internet pages...some of my favourite
artists are Zillion, Darma, Zodiac and Loop (I know that for you guys these
must sound as big cliché names, but they're good!). Lately I also enjoyed
the work of Cygnet, Cyberia and Mergous on the latest Transistance.

I know the scene in Greece has dried out somewhat, but lately
there seems to be a ray of hope... It's great
to see how you guys still manage to hold on & get some CD's released
and party's arranged! I'd like to support the scene and that's why I try to buy
as much Uplifting as possible...

But there is still so much more to do! Why not make a Wikipedia page
about this music? I already wrote a page concerning Nitzhonot (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitzhonot) but I believe that a whole page about Uplifting
should be written by someone from Greece. I consider myself an Uplifting fan,
not an expert.

Don't give up the scene and be aware that there are some big fans around the globe that give about Uplifting!

Yes I am aware that Zillion & Zodiac are quite new compared to Cyan, Zootrax or Destination. But I classify those as "Nitzhonot" artists, the word they used in Israel...I am equally in love with Nitzhonot, but this music has dissappeared entirely...

I mean, nowadays the melodies are much more epic & heroic, much more influenced by the Western European Trance scene, while back in the late nineties, you could clearly hear those Eastern & Goa-ish influences. I'd love to see that come back, but I'm already happy to see how Uplifting is still remaning strong on this site (:

Mind the difference that I make between Nitzhonot and Uplifting, for me it's crystal clear these are two different things. I once wrote a small topic about it, let me hand it over to you guys (:

"In fact, yes, Nitzhonot music can be divided into two sub-categcories.

First of all, we have the real old Nitzhonot stuff, the music that invaded the clubs in Israel during 1998 and 1999 and dried out after this period. Think of guys like Syntezia aka Stargate, Iceman, the first two Cyan albums, Holymen, Eyal Barkan & Oren Barkan aka Reverse Psychology, D-Zager, Syndrome, old Astrix, Luminus, Kintaro,...

Before Nitzhonot died entirely in 2000, it managed to escape to Greece, where it saw a new birth under the name of 'Uplifting'. This music stands further from Goa Trance than Nitzhonot, as the oriental melodies fall away completely. A typical Uplifting track contains heroic, epic, over-the-top-cheezy- melodies, a fat pulsating laser-bass and apart from that, not much (: ...
Heroes in this scene are Darma, Lennox, Star Children, Zodiac, Oxydow, X-Men, Dementia, Zillion, Mendark...
But it seems that, although Uplifting staid steady until 2004, this music is disappearing too. In 2005, the last official compilation came out under the name of Transistance 11, and it was only a mediocre success. Uplifting still gets some attention in Athens and in Bulgaria, but the scene mainly has gone "underground", ore "dead". Cyan quit the scene in 2003 after a last album, for example."

Dear friend,

My name is George, I am Half Greek Half Belgian, In greece i live in Athens and in Belgium i live in wervik.I love Belgium very much, i willgoand live there in 2 years.

In belgium, I believe people hearing Hardstyle techno, seek to find real trance, uplifting trance.I will explain why i say this. When talking on MSN with some of my Belgian friends, i showed them an uplifting trance track, Divine Beauty. They liked it so much, that they enforced me to send them all my uplifting trance tracks. Their next question was : "Where can i buy those songs" I didn't know what to answer.

Uplifting is a hidden treasure that exists only in some places and its not alive at the moment as it used to be. No other kind of trance music can replace the feeling that uplifting trance causes.

People in Belgium LOVE uplifting trance, they just haven't discovered yet.

What you sayabout the subgenders of uplifting is exactly right my friend. In my opinion, and according to what Dementia_Jim says, every music is evolving, to fit the expectations of a certain period. That is how Nuage Uplifting started, it is the exact spirit of uplifting, but with some new elements that attract people and of course, uplift them.As i see it Nuage Uplifting is far better than the old thing that i find a bit confusing

As you say,we have muchwork to do.Uplifting is unique

I would like to hear from you

George de griek

BTW do you speak french or vlams?
