Cyberia... now it's too late....
some they had to think about it before...
the only thing we kan do now is to give some, how can I put it..., injections....
but what done is done...
Although we can try but no guaranties can be made at this point.... I think u know it better than I...
Agneton - June 24, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
Now i'm curious as well, let's listen to it... (:
Damn this track has quite some attitude! Kinda rough, dark and nasty!
Like some kind of hybrid between Uplifting and Darkpsy, leaning towards
Zed reactor style...
Nice done, keep it up!

hah I can't believe you said that...
:)
actually I said that as well(exept the zed reactor comparison) when he first played me the track:)
at that time he was still doing uplifting, and then began exploring psy..
hah:)
myStiq^ - June 25, 2007 07:25 PM (GMT)

No leon its not to late yet. Europe is a place that hasnt really heard yet the Uplifting Sound. lol its all about marketing. its the way u r going to present it in the world. if u present it as a dead gerne of trance thats the way people will listen to it. if u present it as something different u can have your shot..
DjLeon - June 26, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
I believe from what I have seen... that only at eastern Europe will join us... West...I see it a bit bitter to listen Uplifting or as Unicorn had very good pointed out with "Good Mood" compile Greek Trance...
And we want west to join us...'cuz it's were the merketing game being played...
You have pointed well...that we need quality of tracks...and not by composing... were we have given many on-line battles lately through this forum...
We need quality of production... with good productions we have good marketing...with good tunes and lack of production we have a mediocre value of track were no one will be interested except us..
As happens today...!!!!
Agneton - June 26, 2007 05:15 PM (GMT)
I am sure that Western Europe will be interested in Uplifting. I spoke about this with Glytor, who is half-Greek half-Belgian. He shared the same vision as I do.
It's not about the best & cleanest production, it's about the best tunes. Nothing else. I know almost every single popular Techno & Dance genres in Western Europe, and they all are about catchy melodies without caring too much about production. In Spain you have Makina, in Belgium you have Jump, in the Netherlands it's Hardstyle, Germany is all about cheezy Hardtrance, Italy has Italodance, in the UK you find Hardhouse & Happy Hardcore,...
Believe me. If you have the right melodies, the music would easily conquer Western Europe.
The only problem is how to get the attention of people drawn towards Uplifting...
Maybe I should try to contact some important Belgian Dance labels and see how they react on this stuff...
Puppet_Master - June 26, 2007 05:18 PM (GMT)
we don't even have a complete site,we don't have new melodies...
Agneton - June 26, 2007 05:21 PM (GMT)
Yes you do. Uplifting is not known in Western Europe. People would react to it as something new, as they never heard any melody structure that is typical for Uplifting trance. I'm not talking about "new or "innovating" melodies. It's about good melodies (which is sometimes the same, that's true...) ;)
Puppet_Master - June 26, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
we can't create a new style of music in an another country with tracks we were hearing 10 years before.if you know what i mean.

| 10 years before |
9 years not 10 LOL joking :P
well the point is that we have many ppl who cant open their mind to accept our music.also they think by messing up with genres they make a ''evolution'' of the a specific genre like ours after some period of time lol
Agneton - June 26, 2007 05:36 PM (GMT)
This IS possible, believe me. It happened before.
In my country there is even a perfect example.
Italodisco was a style of music that boomed during the mid 80ies until the early 90ies in Italy. After that it loosed popularity. People in Italy didn't like it anymore. Nobody listened to it, except some freaks (if you know what I mean ;) ).
Then some belgian DJ's discovered this music and Italodisco had a big big revival in Belgium during the late nineties. People were dancing to it, everybody saw it as 'new' and 'hot' and 'cool'. But they were just playing the same old tracks (: ...
On the other hand I get your point, it's not really interesting to give a rebirth to tracks that were made 10 years ago in another country. But then again, Uplifting is still alive nowadays. We could just let people hear NEW albums. Transistance 12, Q-Delusions, Spectrum CD, Eutuchia,...these contain new tunes. If Western European people would capture the flow of it, it could give a big injection to the Uplifting scene both in Greece as outside Greece, in Europe.
Puppet_Master - June 26, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
you have a point ;) i finally agree with you.
the only problem is tha i don't care about the foraign scenes but what is happening here in our country.not much i suppose.
p.s.:sry for my english :P
Agneton - June 26, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
Nah, you speak all right. :)
Hm, I understand that you are rather interested in the evolution of the scene in your country, but that wouldn't help me! or I should move to Greece...lol.
Puppet_Master - June 26, 2007 05:47 PM (GMT)
it doesn't matter.
your efforts are worthing even from far away...
i'm lookin forward to hear new noises from u ;)
DjLeon - June 26, 2007 06:27 PM (GMT)
and by the way...
I've just listened to the track, but i'm a bit comfused....
i've noticed what cybergod mentioned about it, but it seems to me tha it's more like goa/psy-trance than an uplifting trance...although it has this "tsifteteli" like melody that tricks away....
about all the other comments...
well, I think that you're both right & wrong...
greece doesn't have even a trance scene....so it's invain to discuss about that... if anyone wants to be in trance scene from us only outside the borders can.
as for catchy tunes.....no good production only half success... the production part is very important nowadays unfortunately... in my tries to slowly promote uplifting outside the borders of greece the only complain I kept feeding back was tha the production had been awful (i've sent them tracks with catchy melodies, at the time)
so it kept me thinking...
nothing is as it seems...maybe the productions you mentioned the weren't completly bad as u think but on some of our released tracks here....oh, boy... they are years behind!!!!
Agneton - June 26, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
In each case, this is an interesting discussion
@ Leon, you could be right about the production thing, but also be aware of the fact that the "big mass", the 'normal people', don't hear that...they just want the tunes (: ...
@ Puppetmaster: thx! ;)

dj leon, agneton writes pure uplifting as it was at the birth of this music (transistance 1,2,3) then the things changed a lot and the music became more trancy...
do you cant say that this is not uplifting, but you can say that for many "uplifting" tracks.
it is hard to promote a kind of music if you dont have the means (djs).
if dj's dont support this music, noone will be interested...
