Title: IRON MAN movie
Description: This... Um... Rocks.

MachSabre - September 10, 2007 02:21 PM (GMT)
I AM IRON MAN.

I'm glad they kept the Sabbath song in there. :D

Dr Archeville - September 10, 2007 02:26 PM (GMT)
Given that the Sabbath song is about a former hero who returns from the dead and seeks to kill everyone he'd once saved... should Marvel really be wanting that?

I mean, sure, it'd work for Tony as he's being portrayed in the comics.....

MachSabre - September 10, 2007 02:49 PM (GMT)
Hey, they place al sorts of out of place music in trailers all the time. My personal favorite was some AC/DC songs being used in Disney films.

BlackZarak - September 10, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
Heh. They used "Rock you like a hurricane" in the Iron Giant trailers. heh

Nowadays the just like that it says "I am Iron man". They'll just edit out the last lines about "vengeance from the grave". When do they ever play the whole song in a movie anymore?

Blade Raider - September 10, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
The voice at the end makes me think of something...

But that's just me. Anyways, looks neat. If nothing else, I'll watch it for the suits.

EDIT: BZ, did you hijack TFD's smilies? Cause it's awesome!

Roadbuster - September 10, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
heheehehehee... no... we don't know where the smiles came from!! :kremzeek:

The Dialeks are an all time tops villian. Who else could decimate whole star systems and yet not be able to go up stairs (well, until the new series that is)

Dr Archeville - September 11, 2007 02:36 PM (GMT)
Even in the old series, they could go up stairs and fly. They did so in The Chase (1965), Planet of the Daleks (1973), Revelation of the Daleks (1985), and Remembrance of the Daleks (1988), and in the 1960s comic strip.

Computron - September 14, 2007 12:09 PM (GMT)
Didn't R2-D2 fly in the episode 1-2-3 series of Star-wars and never flew again the episode3-4-5? Anyways the Iron Man movies looks promising, hope they don't screw it up like the hulk.

To quote Ozzy Ozbourne-we rarely do-:

Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
or if he moves will he fall?

Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We'll just pass him there
why should we even care?

He was turned to steel
In the great magnetic field
When he traveled time
For the future of mankind

Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
That he will soon unfurl

Now the time is here
For iron man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron man lives again!

Roadbuster - September 14, 2007 03:15 PM (GMT)
Yup, R2 never flew in the original episodes (though not sure how that came up, other than flying dialek mentions) They just 'cut' away from him whenever he got near some stairs.

MachSabre - September 14, 2007 03:52 PM (GMT)
*reads Iron Man lyrics*

Wow... That actually kinda explains Tony Stark's actions lately.

Roadbuster - September 14, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
Yeah, he's a little :twitch:

Prisma Nova - September 14, 2007 04:25 PM (GMT)
You seemed to be fixaded on that new cool icon, Roady. What is it?

Roadbuster - September 14, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)

Icefang - September 15, 2007 11:24 AM (GMT)
Sounds Hot! :kremzeek:

Blade Raider - September 15, 2007 07:21 PM (GMT)
Oh god, it does sound hot

Star The Wanderer - September 18, 2007 02:08 AM (GMT)
I've always liked Bob Rivers paraody of the Ironman song, I am Santa Claus, hearing him say "I am Santa Claus" and the start instead of Ironman is defaintly a somewhat evil sounding Christmas song.

Roadbuster - September 18, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
I have that in mp3 at home

'Bring them cookies and beer...'

Prisma Nova - September 18, 2007 03:44 PM (GMT)
Roady, you just don't boast and keep the goods for yourself. Share with your buddies here!

Dr Archeville - May 2, 2008 12:14 PM (GMT)
I saw this last night.

EXCELLENT flick!

Do be sure to stay for the post-end credits scene!

Poop-Flinger Prime - May 2, 2008 12:22 PM (GMT)
I will see it as soon as I have the cash, waiting on a couple deposits :)

Swoop - May 2, 2008 01:09 PM (GMT)
Hopefully I'll get to it this afternoon. I wanted to go last night, but stuff came up.

Prisma Nova - May 2, 2008 02:47 PM (GMT)
I'm going tomorrow afternoon with a couple of friends. I know it is going to rock! :sexy:

Jackass Maximus - May 2, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
I saw it last night too. What a great movie! It's especially satisfying knowing the Marvel independently financed the picture, included everything you'd expect from a comic-book movie and it WORKS! WONDERFULLY! Take that, studios!

Swoop - May 3, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Saw it. I fully endorse it.

I was almost surprised by how many people left right when the credits started to roll. You'd think people would be trained by now to stay until it's absolutely certain there isn't anything else there... (Then again I always tried to stay during the credits anyway - the people I went with didn't really appreciate this habit.)

LightSlayer - May 3, 2008 10:28 PM (GMT)
GREAT MOVIE!!! Loved the after credits part.

Prisma Nova - May 4, 2008 10:35 AM (GMT)
It was great! Delicious in every possible way. Not just great mecha pr0n, but great storyline. Robert Downey Jr. is back!

Icefang - May 4, 2008 09:38 PM (GMT)
RDjr. is Tony Stark through and through! It was a great movie and the after credits part was pure geek-gold!

Poop-Flinger Prime - May 4, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
continuity? whats that?

other than that complaint, I <3 it a lot.

Icefang - May 5, 2008 12:10 AM (GMT)
As with everything else Marvel, the movies have their own continuity, closer the the Ultimate universe.

Poop-Flinger Prime - May 5, 2008 02:10 AM (GMT)
seems so, I guess they wont do they whole split/betrayal deal

O.Supreme - May 12, 2008 03:36 PM (GMT)
Finally got to see this yesterday. Pretty good overall. I think there were more "subtle" hints in this movie that would only be appreciated by comic-geeks than in previous Marvel films- I.E. -Rhodes mention of "next time" as he looked at one of the prototypes longingly, and the fact that the militant leader was wearing a shiny ring, and the soldiers being referred to "The Ten rings" or some such thing.

Since I heard the news about "other" Marvel film projects that are going to be released in the next 2-3 years, in connection with the after-credits scene especially this was cool. Also I think this could actually be pulled of since this is being thought out through ahead of time, assuming not too many egos get in the way (studios, actors whatever....).

ALSO---Look for a cameo by Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in the Incredible Hulk next month!!!
