Title: AUG 'Old Member" Fieldguide
Starshooter - September 12, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
Since we have such a large influx of newcomers (yay! welcome!), Roady and I thought it might be a good idea to let the new folk know who we all are. So let's use this tread to tell everyone a little bit about our online personas and post some pictures if you've got 'em.
I'll begin:
I'm Starshooter. I'm female, age 32, have been a member of the AUG since August of 1998, and am married to Icefang IRL, whom I met at BotCon '99.
Custom of character by ZabgothI'm the resident Priestess of Cthulhu.
Drawing by whirlwind, colors by me!I dig just about anything involving Bluestreak, Starscream or Straxus.
My perferred faction is Decepticon (with a little Predacon on the side)
I've been known to squick people out by dropping hints about TF slash.

Roadbuster - September 12, 2007 02:37 PM (GMT)
Roadbuster: "War is a dirty business, and I'm as dirty as they come."
After the Great Wars, the ancient Autobot Roadbuster got bored. He took up residence on the Axalon where he started in on his new hobby... cooking. With a penchanse for RumCake, Roadbuster is known for nigh invulnerability, pink bunny slippers of stealth, a cook's hat and apron, and high powered artillery... lots of high powered artillery. Roady is also the only member of the now FnorDoM alliance who has never really had aspirations of universal domination or megalomania.
Member since...early '99 somewhere in there.
I'm 32.. I think. I'm the resident cook of the FnorDoM. Also the News Wrecker for the AUG.
Definitely Autobot.
Also a colorist, I run various games (Tranformer Email game, Voltron: Defender of the Universe game currently), old homepage:
http://roadbuster.error-403.net/ and I have a tendency to use ellipses all the damn time (ellipses= '...') ...
Hell... everyone else got pics...
Dr Archeville - September 12, 2007 02:48 PM (GMT)
I, Dr Archeville, genius of science, say: Hello!
Dr Archeville here, and I've been part of the AUG since... well, about a decade, same as Starshooter. Male, 30, engaged (wedding's tentatively scheduled for Spring '08). Love comics, RPGs (
D&D,
Mutants & Masterminds,
HERO System/Champions, and others), most anything related to fantasy, horror or sci-fi (though sadly have not been able ro read/see nearly as much as I'd like), cooking, and writing. I've got an Associates Degree in Science, and am (still) working on a BA in English; I work in a library at an undisclosed university somewhere on the Atlantic seaboard ;) and do
some freelance RPG writing on the side.
Custom pic by RoadbusterThe above pic is for both my Dr Archeville self here and for the Dr Archeville I play in Roadbuster's TF play-by-e-mail game. Short version, it is the Doctor Archeville (or Arkeville, if you must) from the 'toon, but he broke out of his chair when he realized one of the components used to rebuild him was an old mostly-burnt out power chip rectifier from SkyWarp, which allowed him to teleport. He went around assimilating knowledge & tech from around the Universe, the end result being that his kit-bashed body looks like Cthulhu. (Yes, I'm a Lovecraft fan, too.) AUG-Archeville and Roadbuster TF RPG-Archeville quickly diverge from that point, though. The Dr Archeville seen here at the AUG was a proud member of the Dominion of Monkeys and Emperor of the Fnord Empire, and when those two combined into the FnorDoM, continued as Emperor. Well, in his mind, at least -- the centuries have started to impose a Professor Farnsworth-esque dementia, so sometimes even he doesn't know what he's building or how his inventions work. (Check out
the Hub!)
His tentacles sometimes have minds of their own. Horrible, terrible minds.... His wives (alleycat and Prisma Nova) usually don't mind. Usually.

Swoop - September 12, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
This feels like the first day of class or something... "Hi, I'm Jonathan, 24 until November, I have two Associate Degrees in Computer Science and collect toy robots." I don't know when I originally joined, the fall of '99 would be my first guess.
He's not used seriously and I've mostly retired Swoop's character anyway, but here is what I remember about him:
He was once part of a whole team of universe hopping triple-changing Dino/Dynobots, but I think the others are long gone by now... During a Star Wars crossover Swoop converted his third-mode into an X-Wing and I'm pretty sure it was never changed back.
I don't have pictures of any of my characters, but here's a not too good photo of me with Optimus:
Prisma Nova - September 12, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
Humph! My avatar is also "married" to Dr. Archeville's avatar. And so is Koshka (hoping that she will presented herself soon).Yes, Fnord has not one, but TWO emperesses. And I have suspect that Roadbuster is Doc's male concubine... :D
Ok, enough of the AUG Tabloid News.
I'm Prisma Nova, my allegiance is Maximal (and by extension, Autobot too). I'm a 36 years old female, from Montréal, Canada. Am I too old for Transformers? Hell no!
I have been part of the AUG family since October 1999, and never could loose them, even in our many board and server crashes and other internet calamities.
I'm a sci fi fan and fantasy, but mostly sci fi (Frank Herbert's Dune universe, Dan Simmons Hyperion Cantos and Illium, Robert Anson Heinlein's universe, Isaac Asimov, to name a few). Also I have some craving about anime, from time to time, especially classical ones (too many at home). But I'm still a big TF fan (incl. toys, DVDs and mostly comics).
More about my avatar: well, nothing much, she is a scout/spy persona that transforms into a black house cat. Loves to smOoooch everyone, even perfect strangers, just to greet them. Been in Roadbuster email game for a while, and then I went MIA (sorry Roady).
I'm also starting to be part of a francophone Transformers community, and also just started doing translations of IDW and DW comics, from English to French:
http://transformers.aceboard.fr/128099-826...s-Dreamwave.htmI might upgrade sometime soon, to full Autobot (been a while since I thought about it), and have also an upgrade look to my current avatar:

Icefang - September 12, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
IceFang
Name: Icefang
Allegiances: TFE and CoTF
Quote: "A tame bear is an an amusing pet for guests until the day it turns on its captor"
Str:10
Int:5
Spd:7
End:10
Rank:3
Courage:7.5
Firepower:6.5
Skill:7
Icefang's primary, and preferred, weaponry involves his receded claws from his lynx mode which act as cestus on his forearms. He hefts around a rifle which puts forth a gout of super freezing air. He prefers not having offensive guns or rifles since it takes away from any real principle of the hunt.
About 400 yrs ago a young cobalt blue and slver lynx roamed the tundras of Quintessa. He lived his life by the laws of the forests. He hunted and fed...life to him was complete. One evening the sky exploded with a brilliant fire and being the hunter he was....he needed to know what was happening. He watched as this tribe, with their totem worn somewhere upon their bodies, explored and captured many of the wildlife. In fear of the forest being hunted clean he feigned weakness in order to be caught. To his bewilderment...once caught he couldn't escape. He had then been forced into servitude under what was to be known as the Predacon banner.
Years later, after the rogue troop had stolen the Golden Disk, the Predacon ranks were in uproar..he knew it was his time to escape. He struck a deal with a rogue Destron and jumped off Cybertron in a small rickety shuttle. Afetr a long and grueling trip the Destron tunred on him..attempting to kill him and steal his resources, Icefang fought back and put the Destron into stasis lock. Without a proper pilot the shuttle fell to a green planet. A traveling Autobot found him in the wreckage of the shuttle and pulled him free. He was presented to, what at the time was a small force, the Dominion of Monkeys. In their ranks he once again became strong and learned of the ways of others.
After a disturbing trip to an alternate plane of reality he knew it was time for him to leave the Dominion. The mad scientist of the Dominion presented him with an offer. He had discovered a planet that was ripe for population and the building of an empire, The Empire of Fnord. Upon his arrival he wandered where his instncts took him, to the upper northeast corner of the continent of Fnordia. There he bonded himself to his land and made his keep upon the cliffs of ice, where the water was caught in a frozen mockery of cascading ice. He looked over the snow banks and deep forests of his land and was, for the first time, happy.

Transmutate the God - September 12, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Hello, Transmutate here, 25. I joined...way back in... uhh...2000? 1999? Well, when I was in high school. I've been an on again off again AUGer for about five years or so... well ever since I left due to over whelming hatred towards me. (For good reason.)
My Character, Transmutate the God the Ubercookie, is stupid, crazy and powerful. (Though not as much as he use to be.( at the time he was the ultimate god mode.))
His history's changed a lot in the past few years, but I don't want to divulge his origins here. So I'll give his old origin (It's more transformer related anyways.)
In an alternate universe science officer Depth Charge builds a machine that can create sparks. (To counter the Predacon's Spark machine.) He taps into a sub reality call the Matrix to pull out sparks, but on his first attempt he opened a portal into Unicron's unending power core. He extracts a spark and places it into a blank body, it becomes Transmutate the God, nearly mindless and totally insane, he is captured by the Predacons as a weapon, but proves to be too powerful for even Megatron to control. Much later Transmutate blows up the planet and the factions move to the moon where he is captured and reprogrammed into a vehicon. After a long struggle and splitting into two bodies, Mutate pulls himself together and destroys the universe. The End.
(That's him fighting with all those random things)
(It makes sence in context.)
Jackass Maximus - September 12, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
O.Supreme - September 12, 2007 11:48 PM (GMT)
Greetings All (my normal tag)
Like Roady my personna is pretty much the same as the actual character of
Omega Supreme, except I use articles, adjectives, and other words in my sentences B).
I first entered the on-line community back in 1998 when I stumbled upon Ben Yee's page, about a year later I ended up here and have ben here ever since. Early on I loved to inform people about Japanese Transformers in general, but now I mostly just wait for someone to ask as I feel too much talking is a disadvantage sometimes. But if you have any questions at all about Japanese TF's feel free in public or in private. If I dont know the answer I love to research and will try to find it. I generally prefer TF Animated series to comics, as this is how I grew up. I am not a fan of Simon Furman's (I dont dislike the man, just his writing style), and am aware that this is quite a different opinion from many other fans. As Transformers continue to become more and more mired by different continuities, I get discouraged at times, but eventually, there will always be something awesome enough to bring me back.
IRL I am 31 and live in a suburb of Sacramento CA. I have been married for 5 years, and have 2 kids. my 2 1/2 year old girl, and my 18 month old son.
BlackZarak - September 12, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
Hi, I'm BZ and I'm an alcoholic.
All: Hi BZ!
heh not really. heh
I mean, I'm really BZ...or am I? dun dun DUN
I'm all dark and mysterious and sinister. I also have a secret cult of Zaraks who essentially look like BZ, but they're different colors. The CoZ is bent on world domination, but usually just ends up breaking alot of stuff and being unnecessarily enigmatic and spooky.
I'm ancient, too, since I've been in the fandom since it was just a newsgroup and a single website with some boxart and bad fanfic.
Oh, there's a dead spinach man in my head, too. He smells.
Drago - September 13, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
I'm Drago, the young one (22) of the AUG.
I joined when The Axalon went underground.
I am currently trying to finish up my degree and all around lunatic.
I had a set of names known as the "Guber Trillogy" Guber: the evil scientist bent on destroying the Dominion of Monkeys. Robo Guy: Guber's robot assistant, took over when Guber "died." He met the same fate later. Robo Guber: A robot version of Guber, much stronger and equally as immature.
Drago, an early, failed experiment in organic transformation was sealed away after obtaining an organic mode but failing to transform into robot mode. He was released by Robo Guber for shits and giggles mainly. After Robo Guber was defeated by the DoM, Drago broke free and got an apartment somewhere where he would eat popcorn and get hit on the head by heavy objects.
One day, Drago found a white crystal plot device that turned him into a Transmetal 2 dragon with transforming abilities. This red dragon now has the ability to become pure white light and move as a beam of light. Weapons include a light dagger and a daemon Slayer Sword that can also be set to a certain element.
Other names I have been known as:
Grim2000: a clone of Grimlock6666, but has the same abilities as the T-1000 from Terminator 2.
Evil Fruitcake: only shows up from the day after Thanksgiving to New Year's Day. Likes to eat everything in revenge due to people eating (and throwing away) fruitcakes.
JW% - September 13, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
Ah... a number of these I could debate...
Back in the day of Bigbot.com, back when the Cult of Zaraks were first forming, there was a fellow by the name of JW%... who possibly was one of the Zaraks... this is classified information however and will not be revealed. JW% was also highly active on BeastWars Anynomous, a fanfiction site(which led him to various Adult Transformer webrings until they started to bore him by being to vanilla).
At one point, before it's decline into the clutches of Bob Skir, Bigbot.com was invaded by the forces of the Axalon Underground. Rallying his forces, the leader of the Zaraks replied in kind. I was along for the counter assault, providing the then formed Dominion of Monkeys with such great posts(or continuations of posts) as Proof Predacons Are Homosexual, and The DoM Red Light District.
As the Axalon Underground at that time did not support the use of a %, this Percentiled One was forced to condense himself into a single entity, one appropriate to the realm he was working within. Thus JaggedWing came about, the first Blenditron to be created, and the last to come online(sometime after Unicron's defeat by BigConvoy). From there JaggedWing adventured through time and space, becoming one of the founding members of the Fnord Empire(a replacement for the then temporarily hiatus-ed Dominion of Monkeys).
Unfortunately, while Roadbuster said he's the only one who does not have meglomaniacal ambitions, that's not quite true. JaggedWing also does not have any such ambitions, prefering to keep things orderly and neat(with just enough controlled chaos to keep himself amused without being discomforted), rather than ruling anything. He is a study in precision amounts of force, with gravitational manipulation martial arts, as well as a tendancy to talk rapidly and excessively rather than outright fight. "Make love, not war." If he is ever to display surprise he is probably mocking you, as a Percentiled One is witness to all possible, and numerous impossible futures.
As mentioned by Icefang, the FnorDoM(merger of Empire of Fnord and Dominion of Monkeys) is currently located on a planet Doctor Archeville located(Roadbuster has a massive parkinglot/deathvalley area, where The Pub is located). Many if not all of the Fnord Empire have sections of it as their own personal kingdom. The Tungly Wood, an island chain dominated by massive trees, was JaggedWing's home. It was, however, wiped off the face of the planet, leaving him currently to reside within his pocket dimension, the RLD.
I will not give my age, suffice to say "Old enough to know better, to young to care", or my current occupation suffice to say it is NOT utilizing my BS degree in animation.

I'm still looking for something else, but until then it pays the student loans.
I am the resident retro gamer on the boards, specializing in Megaman for the NES. I work in sprites and animation and have produced two demo quality video games(in the style of the NES) which BZ has promised to upload onto AUG sometime in the future. I do sprites, and sprite comics when I feel like it. And when people cooperate.
Prowl - September 13, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)
Hello all,
I'm Prowl, Autobot Stratagist and member of the Autobot High Command.... till I was laid off. Sure, my story is the same as the specs in the G1 Universe books.
The quality of my work was never in question. I am the most trustworthy, loyal, friendly, courteous .... you get the picture. Then came the damn Movie. The 1986 movie.
"Come to Hollywood", they said. "Expand your horizons," they said.
"Oh, no, that's not a final draft. Prowl dying hasn't been decided".
Then came the fateful notice, "I'm sorry, but the story would really advance if someone of Prowl's stature and importance were killed."
I struggled with that, and felt honor-bound to help the cause, so I agreed to have my character killed off. What followed was insult to injury. They cottled me by listening to my input about how the death scene should play out.
"Oh, yeah, this is great material, Prowl, keep it coming. By the way, is there anyone you wouldn't want to be your killer?"
"Absolutely!" I exclaimed, "Any low ranking Decepticon would not do. Preferably Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave or Meg-..."
"That's great, hey listen, it was wonderful working with you. Aw, hey, listen, Shockwave isn't available for this rehearsal, we'll just have Scavenger sit in his place. Oh, no, he's not shooting at you only; all the Constructicons will be filmed returning fire. We'll edit it so it looks like Starscream with Megatron shot you. Did I say Screamer and Megs? I meant Shockster. Don't worry... it'll work out."
Thanks to the gruesome death scene I suffered at the hands of a lowly grunt, the rest of my career was affected. Autobot High Command suddenly felt distrustful of my abilities. Troops didn't want to participate in any plans I drafted. Somehow they felt following my plans would lead to being picked off by some D-list Decepticon.
"What with the war ending at the end of the movie, whadda we need a strategerist for anyways?
So, I wandered, namely as a patrol car in New Jersey. I really had fun watching people slow down as I drove alongside of them on the highways. I became acquainted with tactics of organized crime, given its abundance in New Jersey. When I learned how they can give a hard time to movie companies, I became a fan. Whenever the Mob needed to have a workplace strike, or a head-busting, I would be nearby, in car mode. The mob could flex their muscles in front of "the police" so all could see that the police already are there, and no one is gonna help them. I would also play interference, tuning in to other cops and redirecting them via radio away from the action.
As I would wait for various strikes, or busts, to occur, I would surf the net to see how the Transformers are doing these days. I happened onto the site of the Axalon Underground. I found an interesting array of netizens. I felt like I was part of a team, again. I joined the Dominion of Monkeys, eager to be someone's second-in-command again, and participated in chain-story telling. I even began the trend by documenting the Smurf attack on the AUG. Needless to say, we have a feud with the Smurfs. You are either with us, or against us.
At one point, the AUG was threatened to confront the boys of Bottalk, namely the Zaraks and the Cult of the Fist members. As it turns out, the confrontation ended with all participants becoming friends. This lead to the introduction of new visitors to the site, who ultimately rose to prominence in the AUG community.
My abilities are the same as the G1 specs still, but I've acquired a new skill: writing people to death. Lengthy essays have been my forte, not that anyone could tell, right?
Very long story short. I'm back. Hello again, y'all.
BlackZarak - September 13, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
Mako Crab - September 13, 2007 05:59 AM (GMT)
Hello, I'm Mako Crab.
*dramatic pose!*
I started out over on Bottalk where I was originally known as MetalGhost. At the time I had a crazed obsession with all things Metal Gear Solid related, but apparently so did everyone else as the name "MetalGear" was alreadyt taken. So I stuck with that for a while, even after ditching Bottalk and coming here to the AUG.
It wasn't until RiD began airing and I got into a conversation about Gigatron and all his many, many alt modes that I said, "And here I thought Rampage was cool with just his 3 modes. You evil crab! Just run away with my heart!"
From there the crab thing just stuck. It works out really well actually, considering how many crab mechs I really love. The GD-42 Genki Battlemover (a.k.a. Live Crab Mech) from Bubblegum Crisis 7: Double Vision being my main inspiration. The Tachikoma, Rampage, Pewku, Washu, and even Hsien Ko from Darkstalkers all just continued to reinforce my love of all things crabby and clawed. And so I ditched the name MetalGhost, which I had come to feel was way too serious for me, and changed my name to Mako Crab! The Mako comes from Final Fantasy 7, the source of all materia, and thus the most potent energy on the planet. Yeah, I'm not too full of myself.
Over the years I would drift back and forth from the AUG, and wound up spending a good chunk of my time over on TFD where I was a content provider for the site and a journalist for the Matrix Annex. I would write articles about TFs in general and about the voice actors. Cool thing about that- I actually got to talk with some of them over the net. People like David Sobolov (Depth Charge), Tabitha St. Germain (Alexis) and some others. David Sobolov even donated one of the scripts he used on Beast Wars to me after I made several audio clips of Depth Charge for use on his website.
The script never made it to me. Someone else, who shall remain nameless, instructed him to send the script to them instead with assurances that the script would be mine after they could make copies...
Anyway- in real life I'm 28 and working on finishing up my degree in writing at Western Oregon University. I just quit my job and got hired on at the local newspaper, where I intend to work my way up into the news room by January. It's all part of my plan to eventually become a screenwriter or novelist or comic book writer. Anything that involves fiction and fun. I'm really no good at writing drama pieces. I can't even watch most dramas.
And uh... yeah. I consistently favor the Decepticons, Vehicons, Predacons or whatever-Cons over the good guys. Don't ask me- they're just more interesting.
Greater_UltraMan - September 13, 2007 08:21 AM (GMT)
By jove, it's a grey speckled Prowl! What a fine specimen he is, appearing in the Fieldguide and everything!
...
I have nothing else to say, other than somebody needs to reopen The Pub.
koshka - September 13, 2007 01:07 PM (GMT)
*makes eye contact with BZ*
You see him too? Good lord. I've been outlurked.
*glares at Prisma*
...fine. I'll do it later.
[later]
okay. I don't know that I had much of a character profile. Bit of an enigma.
I found AUG march 99. Maybe a month before the flying monkey's forced the creation of the DoM. I was well into college, alone bored and infatuated with the computer animation from Mainframe Entertainment. At the time ReBoot, Beasties (Canadian name for Beast Wars), and soon to be released Shadow Raiders.
AUG was very much alive, at the time, and on a free server called gagames. There was a core group of 10-15 or so people that were constantly online. We got into volano chats, and very long bazaar chats/threads/and eventually fanfics.
beasties.gagames.net (Axalon Underground) was run by a guy from Toronto named Steve. Steve was told that gagames was refocusing its servers to gaming, and he was going to get shut down. Steve partnered with another... no back up. AUG was a originally a RPG site, when DoM showed up it amicably fractured into two camps. RPGers didn't like the unstructuredness of the DoM. Steve partnered with another person (maybe it was 2. I think the guys name was Proudwolf, I can't remember).
Everything was moved. There were several of us that had become mods at the time. The forums were going to be impossible to move, so I spent a weekend or so copy/pasting threads into the new site.
I became the archivest.
I don't know what we were on for a while. Eventually Steve or the other crew bought axalonunderground.com and ran their own server. Steve eventually decided to give it up. I think that was shortly after DoM had stumbled into the Zarak nest. We ran off somebodies personal server for a while. They got fed up and eventually BlackZarak took over. There were a few more forum crashes etc.
And BZ got us onto something stable for a while. I kept keeping things saved, running. We had our own server for quite a while. BZ started building a complete TF information website. I got onboard with that. And for a while I admin'd AUG along with BZ.
The forums were an old cgi based script, that was really unstable, we moved to ezboard for a while. That was around 2000-2001.
Mid 2002 I was working full time, and wasn't able to keep up with everything all that much. I drifted away, and there wasn't all that much going on with TF anymore, so it was just a core group at AUG. The server we were on was owned by a friend of BZ's and I think something happened that caused him to have to move the site again. At the time BZ was MIA, and I had so much going on that I wasn't able to help out. Icefang and Roadbuster and a few others worked their asses off to keep things going. My computer broke down and I lost everything I had done for this place. After that point I drifted away.
I came back and lurked once in a while. BZ came back, moved the forums from ezboard to invisionfree. And got it running again. Heh, I didn't even know about the forum move right away.
We've been here for a few years now, right? I think there was about a year plus that I didn't show up at all. I stopped in once in a while. I lurk. The past two years have been about the worst in my life, and I've been visiting quite a bit lately. This post will basically be making the old crowd jaws drop for it's existence, nevermind the length.
Be warned. I am the AUG's den mother. I don't tolerate stupidity. I will correct your grammar and spelling. I will make fun of your stupidity. I do not like emoticons. I do not like script babies babble talk. You were given a brain and the sense to communicate. Talk like an adult and prove that you are worth having a dialog with. If I like you I will defend your presence here with all I have. If not, take care. I lurk. And once again, I am bored.
*goes to sit on Doc's lap*
MachSabre - September 14, 2007 02:21 AM (GMT)
Well, I'm on the horns of a dilemma here. I've been around long enough that most of you "Old Members" know who the hell I am, but at the same time I just registered and some of the new guys have no idea who the hell I am. I've been around long enough to know how to avoid most of you, and be around long enough to be able to stalk Firefly with the best of them.
Eh... I'm just gonna steal your whiskey.
BlackZarak - September 14, 2007 09:00 AM (GMT)
Cyberpumpkin - September 15, 2007 10:52 AM (GMT)
Name: Cyberpumpkin
Allegiance: The Light (Autobots, usually)
Original join date: Late 1999 (?)
Interests: If you really care, you can check out my
art blog and
profileThe Cyberpumpkin character doesn't have much of a role-playing persona, since I haven't appeared in any, apart from a Digimon season 1-2 RPG in the summer of 2000. The Cyberpumpkin character mostly appears in
stuff I've drawn (actual domain website coming soon), although I've used the name and the character design conisistenly in my web presence.
The Cyberpumpkin character occasionally has very tame adventures with his child sidekick, Rad (I had the name before RiD did), who wears a radish-shaped helmet crafted by Cyberpumpkin. Not much is known about Cyberpumpkin's origin, except that he lives on an Earth-like, colonized planet, and that at one time, there existed an army of similar automata, and that cutting a triangle hole in the middle of his face (a nose) would cause him to revert to a mindless, evil drone. Good thing that's only possible with specific artifact which long ago made the history-->legend-->myth transition.
Cyberpumpkin (aka "Ben") did a year stint as the newsman and Polyhex moderator, met a bunch of AUG regulars at BotCon 2003 in Chicago, and at one time could be counted on to engage in lively debates and be a two-fisted apologist for Christianity. Now, I mostly represent the get-off-my-lawn demographic and try to reign in my curmudgeonry.
In real life, I live in the Northwest United States and work for a megalomaniacal financial institution, where I talk to idiots on the phone about their credit card accounts. I'm married to Chocobo Princess, and I have a cat named Foofoo.

Greater_UltraMan I believe had an averted attempt to adventure with Cyberpumpkin in a sorta Digimon meets Kingdom Hearts thing... never heard how that ended.
Virus - September 16, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
Bah, lurkers...
I was generally known as Cyrex (Wingblade) with the FnorDoM group, but when the board made it's last move, I shifted permanently to my other persona, Virus.
Simply put... well... just accept that he can do whatever he wants, and it usually involves making you something you don't want to be.
His idea of a 'prank' is turning you into a stuffed rabbit.
Then turning you back, but leaving your hair in the shape of the ears.
For a long time.
Or randomly switching people's gender.
Whatever...
Firefly - September 16, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
There's more than 1 person stalking me? Cool.
Well anyway, I'm Firefly, a loveable Leo. (Or Phyrefly as I'm known in my other life, aka FFXI). I'm not cool enough to have come up with a detailed background for my character. Kinda started out as one of the Decepticon seekers, and then Beast Wars came along, so I went with a griffin mode. I can be found on the AUG myspace.
oh, RL background...Starshooter is my best friend, I've known her since 1st grade which makes for about 26 years. Not many people can say that. I came to the AUG after her, then went to a few Botcons and met most of the people here.
My character picture below was done very nicely by MachSabre. :)

| Greater_UltraMan I believe had an averted attempt to adventure with Cyberpumpkin in a sorta Digimon meets Kingdom Hearts thing... never heard how that ended. |

Um, yeah. I think that story began on Cyberpumpkin's farm, and that was pretty much the extent of it. I peeked into the role-playing forum one day, and there was something happening in a setting that had my name in it.
That was pretty much the extent of my involvement. I didn't raise a fuss about it, 'cause *shrug*.

And now that you've read the field guide, if any of these following folks slip their way into my comics you'll know who they are...

Or not, given that JackMax there is just a repaint of Ramulus(never wanted Jackie in my works in the first place), and I usually use the smaller version of BlackZarak... and MachSaber isn't included on there...
Meh, details.
Jackass Maximus - September 21, 2007 11:22 AM (GMT)
Who's the silver dude with green eyes? Cyrex? Anywho, mine's close enough to the character that I recognized it, although Jackal doesn't have any crippling spinal deformities.
JW% - September 23, 2007 06:45 AM (GMT)
Silver with glowing green eyes? Yeah, that's Cyrex. His eyes changed color frequently, but then again so did his body. I put them up in order of posting too, if that helps.
As for your complaint about not having crippling spinal deformities...
Okay folks, volunteers to give him some. And if you don't volunteer... well you probably don't know Jack. If you do know him... you probably want to borrow this sledge hammer.
BlackZarak - September 23, 2007 08:27 AM (GMT)
Jackass should be a repaint of MachKick.
heh Zab wants to do a burro kitbash of MachKick and call it "Donkey Punch" heh
Starshooter - September 23, 2007 03:35 PM (GMT)
So then he can have a Donkey Show? :slurp:
BlackZarak - September 23, 2007 03:40 PM (GMT)
Only if IANT shows up. heh

Oh yay! there's me!
Wait, why am I so tiny?!?!? Oh right, Omega's huge... okay.
I guess Mutate IS pretty little compaired to the Transformers at this point... huh...

Can you give us a list of who's who on there? I mean, some are obvious, but there's a few that I don't recognize.
Sionyx - September 25, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
Hi! My name's Sionyx and I'm recently back from an extended leave of absence mixed with some lurking! Details will follow when I have more time to type (dinner's calling me...). I seem to be the only one with keys to the Pub right now, so I'll reopen when I can.
This place WOULD pick up the week I have a rather full work schedule...

Simple answer: The sprites are not to scale.
More complex answer: You deserve to be small. Plus, the body design is vaugely like Transmutate... I had another character who had a Transmutate body(though different head). Anyone remember Slipbot? Well, I changed the head to that of Ultron(as you described your character), took off the gun, recolored it, added clawed feet, and that's the sprite. It was a rush job. When you start comparing them to scale you stand about as tall as Omega Supreme's waist, or about up to Unicron's knee. Imagine for a moment just how tall you have to be to look Unicron in the kneecap.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to, but there are some rush jobs, and that might be the first ever appearance of some characters. I figured that posting them in the same order as they appeared in this thread would sort things out, but... well here goes.
From top left, going right:
Starshooter(red and black, transforms into brown bat), Roadbuster(With chili stirring spoon and fluffy pink bunnyslippers of stealth), Doctor Archeville(with lab coat), Swoop(can't think of anything funny to say here, though I almost put him in his beast mode).
Second row:
Prisma Nova(looks like her sig animations, have her turning her head in this pose), Icefang(that's the current look I'm using for the games, the heads overlarge because the base sprite had big hair/helmet), Transmutate(first time appearing), Jackass Maximus(first time appearing, wasn't sure if that works or not), Omega Supreme.
Third Row:
BlackZarak(using the newer version which I haven't done animation poses for yet, expect some transition until I use this regularly. Probably should have stuck with the other one), Drago(I've actually had him for some time now, along with various G24 sprites. TM2 Megatron has been upgraded, but I felt this smaller version worked better for Drago), JW%(hey, it's me!), Prowl(Just like the G1 version, could also have done the RiD version if he prefered...)
Fourth Row:
Mako Crab(First appearance, repainted an older smaller version of Rampage in blues), Greater_UltraMan(probably the most animated sprite character I have thanks to the comic), Koshka(might be the first appearance... I've been fiddling with various sprites for alleycat/Koshka for some time now. All I have is some pretty vauge colors that were suggested, and the theme of egyptian cat goddess), Cyberpumpkin(might be first appearance or might not... I've had the sprite for sometime, but he does his own so I've probably never used it before), Cyrex(This is the most recent version, using his own directions on how to sprite it for the FnorDoM video game).
Now... need to add Sionyx to the mix...
Transmutate the God - September 25, 2007 07:45 AM (GMT)
Oh, I'm not complaining. I like that he's little. I think he's about 8 or 9 feet tall now a days... he use to be 40 at one point... So if I were to use him now, he'd be pretty little compaired to most Transformers. Outside of Beast Wars, or course.
Yeah, looking unicron in the knee whould be quite a feat. Yes indeed.

INFERNO - September 25, 2007 08:18 PM (GMT)
Where to begin.....
I fell into the AUG back around 98/99 (too long ago to really remember. Steve and Cat were still around. Met most of the old AUGers at Botcon 2000 and saw many again at 04. Part of the original DoM, but wasn't around for the merger. I used to be a lot more involved with the site, but due to college and various other things in life I have drifted off from time to time.
I have taken several "vacations" from the site and will disappear for periods of time. Recently I have been roaming around and post every so often. Figured I had better put something up just for the hell of it.
IRL - I am 29, live in Des Moines. I have been with my wife for about 7 years and married 3. No kids yet. I work in the casino industry in table games management and have done so for around 7 years. My wife met a few people at the 04 Botcon (Star, she thought you were just wonderful!) so some of you may remember her. Other than that I was known as the "frat boy" of the group at one time. Love football and baseball and of course I have been a big trans-fan since G1.
Good to see you all!

| Hey, you forgot Firefly! |

Phyrefly(Firefly) posted after Virus(/Cyrex). She and Sionyx, and Inferno would have appeared on a fifth row, had I waited until now to make the image.
The only one I've forgotten was MachSabre, and he stole our whiskey!
