Title: The Next Big Story for the FnorDom?
Description: What Will it be? When will it start?
Megatron - January 5, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
So, with "Newcomers to Rroo'tah" coming to an end soon, what's next in store for the FnorDom? How soon are we going to start the next story? I hope it's close after NtR't, because this has been too much fun to stop.
An even more pressing question is this: what will be the plot? what pressing matters will arise that will demand the attention of all the FnorDom to combat? We need something good, and I think it's time to up the ante from the ultimately comical and incompetent Anarchists. We need something truly threatening, like a robot vampire hoard but actually scary. Well, if done right, vampires can be quite scary, so maybe that's not such a bad idea after all.
I actually do have an idea for a plot. I've even written an entire back story to set the plot into motion, and have created an awesome villain for the story that Transmutate_The_God is helping me design. Unfortunately, it might be too soon for this particular plot, as it would involve/require all of us going back to Megatron's timeline, and I don't think any of the FnorDees like Megatron and his crew enough to join him. If you'd all like to hear my plot, I'd be glad to share the back story, with the name of the villain omitted to preserve the suspense of his premier, which would happen probably a short time after returning to Megatron's timeline.
Finally, there is one other question: who all is signing up for the next story? I for one am joining it no matter what the plot is, my ship and crew in tow. Yes, all 10 of me will be back, 11 if you count Marvin, and possibly more if the plot allows it. So, who else is going to be a part of the next story? I hope a good crop of us keeps going, and that maybe some new people join in.
What thoughts does everyone else have?
Grand Moff Daniel - January 5, 2008 12:16 AM (GMT)
I'd say what we need is a bunch of aliens.
Well MORE aliens. Maybe ALIEN aliens (Xenomorphs).
Megatron - January 5, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
I was thinking of making use of the Marro in my plot. (The aliens from the Heroscape board game series.) Aliens would definately be good. Creepy ones.
I take it you'll be taking part in the next story Daniel? Excelent.

I think that enough plot threads are going to be left hanging that we'll have enough to deal with.
Most truely dangerous missions for FnorDoM take place away from Rroo'tah. We like to keep the nasty stuff out of our backyard. The Anarchists... well they have a reason to be there and not to be swept out yet.
We've done Xenomorphs on more than one occasion. We could revisit them if nessisary.
Had an idea as to some sort of "vampire robots". Actually, they were more like demons. Sort of a Dante's Inferno storyline, where our heroes travel through the layers of hell to finally confront the ultimate evil. Never had a motivation though.
Also haven't sent you that PM yet about Starscreams Ghosts notes. I'll have to get around to that.
Keep in mind that traditionally we usually have more than one story rolling at any one time. There's usually the narrative one, like this New Commers story has become, and just the random "We're in the Pub kicking back" which never developes a plotline, but just involves everyone chatting, relaxing, kareoke, celibrating holidays, and occasionally having a bar fight(could also be "in the RLD" but with less fighting and more... other stuff). Plus any single or special eddition stories(small number of writers not wanting anyone else to join).
Besides we've got to get the Hugg Beatles out of the RLD.

That's true, but we will need a major plot to tie all the minor ones together. Otherwise, we'll have 5 or more stories going on at once. It works better to have one major plot and then have a bunch of subplots going on within it.

Which is why my plot would work, but as I said before, I don't think any of the FnorDees like Megatron's crew enough to help him in his own timeline. Other than that, it would work really well because I myself haven't thought out Megatron's universe other than his own personal backstory. That means, that all of us would be able to create an entire universe together. Also, the story has the potential to be massive, grand, and epic. Just need to get around the problem of everyone not liking Megs.

That sounds like a fun story. Really grand and epic. That would be a good plot to work with I think.

Yeah, I wan't to know what idea's you've got, and see if I want to go for it.

Well, I'm mostly concerned about the narrative one. One that has a plot, and the potential to expand to tremendeous size. "Newcomers to Rroo'tah" has been too much fun for the story to die out. I want to get started an a new one ASAP afvter the current one ends!
Roadbuster - January 5, 2008 03:38 AM (GMT)
If things tie together as I believe they will, there wil be a massive new storyline that will follow on the the heels of the Newcomers
:cheese: anyone?
But don't let that stop anyone from starting other new stories at any time.
Megatron - January 5, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
Well, the story I want to play out will have to wait as it's far too big to play out with another big one going on, put I will present my idea to you all anyway. I've cut out the name of the head villain so that he can hav a great world premier when the story is finaly greenlighted.
Someone from Megatron's timeline crash lands on Rroo'tah, finally bringing his desperate search for The Legend to and end. Megatron and the FnorDees find him, and Megatron, and especially Ironhide and Blackout, recognize him immediately: Barricade. Bashed and mangled from his travels and who knows what ells, he manages to say 5 words, “Cybertron has been taken over.” Before he can say more, he goes into stasis lock.
Several hours later, Barricade revives and tells his story. As Megatron and the others know, there was a small faction of Cybertronians that believed that as the most powerful empire in the galaxy, all other systems should be under the flag of Cybertron. Made up of Decepticons, Autobots, Predacons, and Maximals alike, they called themselves the Imperialtrons. The Cybertronian Council was totally apposed to the idea of controlling governments other than their own, particularly Emperor Optimus Prime, and shut down all military proposals from the Imperialtrons. Rejected by the Council and the Emperor himself, the Imperialtrons took a back-burner for quite some time.
Eventually, the crew of The Legend was assembled and launched off. The Legend proved itself to be worthy of it's name and crew, and became the flagship of the Cybertronian fleet. Unfortunately, Cybertron lost all contact with The Legend, and all attempts to find them failed.
Suspecting foul play, Barricade joined the Imperialtrons, hopping that his Decepticon background would be sufficient to make him a not so obvious spy. The Imperialtrons, despite having such grand plans, had been a poorly organized political party with little to no structure or leadership. Or so everyone thought. Upon joining the Imperialtrons, Barricade learned that an individual had risen from their numbers and taken command of their organization.
Things became harder and harder for Cybertron, their economy declining, the populous growing frustrated with the government, and their enemies somehow uniting against them. With so much grief and strife, the Imperialtrons gained a lot of popularity and support from the Cybertronian people. The people believed that the Imperialtrons would be able to restore order to the growing chaos. That's when the Imperialtrons made their move. They struck at the heart of the Cybertronian Government, imprisoning the Cybertronian Council and even Emperor Optimus Prime. With their defeat, the leader if the Imerialtrons became the new Emperor, and began moving his forces across the galaxy.
Appearing to be a loyal soldier, Barricade was gradually able to learn more and more about the Imperialtrons. Although they claimed to be an organization devoted to a peaceful way of life with all known nations living under the Cybertronian flag, they were truly even more evil than the Decepticons had been during the Great War. It had been the Imperialtrons who had organized Cybertron's enemies together, promising them power and conquest. It had been the Imperialtrons who had arranged for the destruction of The Legend with the Krikkit War Fleet, but they were unsure of their fate themselves as the Krikkit War Fleet had also vanished without a trace. The leader of the Imperialtrons was excellent at keeping his actions secret form everyone other than those deemed worthy of knowledge. Most everyone was oblivious to his evil, and those who had begun to suspect him were either too terrified of his wrath to resist him, or shared in his dark vision. Although every fiber of his being wanted to assemble a resistance, Barricade maintained his charade as a loyal Imperialtron, waiting for the opportune moment to strike.
Time went on and the Imperialtron's began to conquer more and more worlds, always pretending that it was all in the name of peace. The technorganic paradise that was once Cybertron had grown weak and fragile during the time before Imperialtron's rise to power, and so the Imperialtrons rebuilt Cybertron the way it was during Megatron's reign as Emperor: totally devoid of all organic life and purely technological. The people were happy, not knowing what the Imperialtrons really had planned.
Finally, not all that long ago, the Imperialtrons created a task force who's job was to determine the true fate of The Legend. It had been centuries since they had gone missing, but still the Imperialtrons wanted to be sure that they had been destroyed. Luckily, Barricade was placed on the Task force. He had been planning on searching for The Legend himself, but now he would have access to the equipment needed to find them. Several years passed, and so far the task force had made no progress in their search. Finally, something came up. They found the debris of the Krikkit War Fleet, but still nothing from The Legend. However, they did find a faint trace of what appeared to be the after effects of a pan-dimensional gateway. This was enough for Barricade to have his hope restored that The Legend was in tact somewhere. He and a few others ran analysis after analysis on the after effects, until they were able to determine where it was the gateway had opened to. At long last, the opportune moment that Barricade had been waiting for had come. Seizing the information for himself, Barricade opened fire on the Imperialtrons. He destroyed their labs, crippled their engines, and obliterated half of the ships command bridge, so that they could not contact the Emperor and tell him what they had found. Feeling satisfied with his destruction, Barricade made his move to escape, but was attacked by the surviving Imperialtrons. It was a long battle, but Barricade was finally able to get off the ship, and open the gateway for himself to use, and arrived in orbit around Rroo'tah. Positively identifying The Legend's signal, he went into planet fall, landing within a few miles of his allies.
That is the back story of what has happened in Megatron's timeline after he and his crew arrived on Rroo'tah. Granted, nowhere near that amount of time has passed on Rroo'tah, but that is what has happened assuming that they never came back.

I could have sworn that the Krikkit fleet was after Marvin. Those deadly white robots are seeking to unlock their homeworld from a Slo-time envelope by reassembling the Wikkit Gate and thereby restarting the great conflict that very nearly destroyed the galaxy. The Gate is composed of the Steel Pillar of Strength and Power(Marvin's leg), the Golden Bail of Prosperity, the Perspex(plastic) Pillar of Science and Reason, The Silver Bail of Peace, and the Wooden pillar of Nature and Spirituality(The Ashes).
Legend has it that sort of thing will only take them a brief ten billions years to gather and put together, but hey, they've got nothing better to do.
Megatron - January 5, 2008 06:55 AM (GMT)
This is either at a different point in Marvin's life, a different timeline, or another Marvin all together. He's nice and clean and functional on board The Legend. Megatron's timeline is, shall we say, wacky? Or strange/freaky/bizarre. Half of it doesn't make sense. for example, in Megatron's timeline, he's friends with a bunch of celebrities, such as Britney Spears, who is highly skilled at puting people in Liederhosen. Megatron is also a firm believer in the Way of the Wacky, thanks to Dave Holmes, former MTV VJ, and Shaman of the Wacky. So, the timeline they all come from isn't exactly what you'd call coherent.
Other than that, what do you think of the story?

No trespassing, sorry.
As for the "newcomers" arc, easy enough to assume Sorus sat back in his castle and relaxed.
JW% - January 5, 2008 09:21 AM (GMT)
Sorry, won't tresspass. The Dante's Inferno would be more of a cybertronic bent to it, so our heroes travel to the lowest level of "The Pit" rather than "hell", better Sorus?
That's why the Vampires/Demons are robotic. They're basically vehicon jet drones in red, with a tendancy to "feast" on new arrivals in this robot hell(clustering around them, stabbing with the nose of the jets or draining through robot mode fangs and claws). The demonic Vehicons were my main idea for the "great beasts" in the upper levels of Dante's Inferno.
Castle Forlorn you said was locked away under heavy magical barriars. It's still like that until you reopen it Sorus. And yeah, it's generally assumed that most of FnorDoM sat back and watched.

Mewnicron is still out there.

More I say! There should more lesser ranks enemies. how about a Captain for a meanies. Or a neutral group that might play in both fields. Or the occasional traitor, thats always good for a laugh...They should be played by someone to make them more of a chalenge.

But count her in on the next mission o' dewm!

I'll help anyway I can ^_^.

Well I find fics tend to go better when there's just a loose plot idea and people just jump in as desired. Gets a nice natural flow to it. I think, generally, our throw together fics have been more fun and run better then our all out planned ones. Generally.
Personally I wouldn't mind going back to the RLD for a silly/fun story.
As for nemesi, I think most of the Fnordom has a nemesis and half of the fnordom act as bad guys randomly (is looking at JW%, Zabgoth and the mailman). Though our villans, the real ones, are generally too smart to show up in our fics and often too powerful to be dealt with. Alot of our villans are masterminds or "gods".
Though a powerful Lt. or two to drive the otherside could certainly be fun.
Megatron - January 6, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
Sheesh, I write a bigass bakcstory for an epic plot and noone comments on it except to quote Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy. "No respect, I get no respect at all."

Yes, I have one. I omited the name of the villain though because Transmutate_The_God hasn't finished designing him yet, and I want him to have a big premier. However, the leader of the Imperialtrons would be quite prominant in the story, revealing himself to all of us and encountering them shortly after we arrive in Megatron's timeline.

Again, given the nature of the plot that I want to play out, there would be the potential for hundreds of lower ranking, yet highly powerful enemies. Plus, the leader of the Imperialtrons and his cohorts are all compitant and threatening.
Also, with traitors, I had plans for that very thing to happen. I don't want to say any more, but there may very well be a traitor among us.
I for one love playing villains, and I would even be willing to create an alternate acount here so that I can play out the villains. I quite like your use of Greek Mythology Computron, and I would like a chance to play Ares, as he appears in the old Hercules and Xina TV shows.

Can I get a dominion? Just a stripe of beach, with golden sands and sapphire seas and drinks served in coconuts....
Computron - January 6, 2008 02:50 AM (GMT)
No problem Megatron, have fun with that as long as it doen't conflict with my ship. Also, i want to point out that something big is going to happend to my ship. After the event, anything mythological you will use won't bother the main story. I'm writing it and hopefully, I might have a new character.

I liked the set up, but didn't really have anything to add. I pointed out in PM how un-canonical it is to Transformers mythos, and here how it is also un-canonical to HitchHikers Guide, but as you pointed out, and rightfully so, there's no reason to stick to canonical histories. Lord knows Dreadnoughts realm, a major player in FnorDoM, has no relation to the Cybertronian Empire of Transformers save holding the same name.

Sounds like Da Club, Prowls kingdom. Your characters stopped there for awhile... wonder why you didn't get any of those nifty coconut drinks(though as I recall Rachelle got into Prowls "full sized" cigars). I'm not sure we're assigning kingdoms anymore honestly. We could always do Land Rush 2...

Yes, and the flooding should go down soon now that the super-hurricane is over and life will return to normal. Drink pina colitas until you can't sit up anymore!
Dreadnought - January 6, 2008 08:53 AM (GMT)
Sorry I had nothing to add Megs. Really you sdaid it all yourself. It's interesting but it's something we'd have todo a bit down the line.
Kinda why I suggested an RLD kinda fic. It's those environments that let us, as characters, get to know and interact with one another. Honestly not every gathering has to be ome planetary event, hell if that were true the characters would have probably stopped hanging out with one another long ago.
Not saying we can't have problems, just, a story where it's more soap-opera and less End Of Days might be a nice follow up to this.
JW% - January 6, 2008 10:36 AM (GMT)
I'm sure the flooding has already gone down. Why the islands should be visible again within months easily. By then we can start repopulating it, and rebuilding things, and before you know it Prowl will have his hide away back the way he likes it again.
*Hums "if you like Piña Coladas..."*
If things go as I think they will, I'm sequeing the end of the current story into a more relaxing RLD break. There are more than enough storylines that could restart, but it might be neat to do the simultanious stories again. One plotless(the RLD story) while one a continuing narrative(somebody elses project). Might even throw in something like the big screen in the RLDs sports bar showing the current narrative adventure. For anybody who happens to be in both places at once that would probably cause their characters some interesting conversation.
I'm sure UltraMan would like some one to open the Pub again too. I've been trying to talk him into reopening his Dojo, but he doesn't see any need and probably can't post often enough to keep it going. He'd be interested in the TAOWAR Blade Raider(currently there is no Blade Raider in our fictions, and you may have noticed that TAOWAR and WaRPed are different continuities) becoming a student however. Maybe even co-teaching with Yoda.
Oh, and since I don't see this as being relevant anywhere else, but thought it was funny enough to make...

(The thread I made it for in Sheol has since sunk)
Megatron - January 6, 2008 07:42 PM (GMT)
Yeah, you are right Dread, it is too soon for that story right now. People need to actualy LIKE Megatron before that story can happen, or at least or at least like him enough to feel obligated to help him. Right now, I don't think anyone would really be too eager to help him, except maybe Dark Mousette or possibly Roadbuster.
The RLD thing might be good. Everyone (meaning the characters) will need a good break after this, including my crew. It would also be a good chance to show the wacky side of my crew. So far they've been pretty serious, and they're actualy rather bizarre during their off time. I would actualy like a chance to show that side of my crew.
Roadbuster - January 7, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
After the newcomers fic, most of the FnorDoM should be ok with Megatron. Starscream... that's another story.
I actually haven't had time yet to read your story idea post, Megs, that's why I hadn't answered. I'll look sometime in the next day or two though.
The story that I'm going to spawn off of the newcomers isn't a 'good vs bad' storyline. It'll be more of a 'crazy race' type story, with lots of crazy backstabbing and scrambling to the goal line. Maybe not as random as the Anarchists, but still quite random.
As I said though, there's no reason it has to be the only or the primary story going. We still are occasionally working on FnorDoM: The Movie which is completely unrelated to everything else (and we need to post more on)
