Why use a knockoff when you can use the real thing? :P

(Only could find a Neo Shadow on short notice)
And yes, accents are hard to type. With each comic, you're getting better. Keep it up :thumb:

thanks compy and fyi blade, i was just remarking on how much the shadow spirit looks like a shadow

Who doesn't know about Kingdom Hearts? Take perfectly good Final Fantasy characters and fuck everything up by including Disney.

Yep. Love the series. Of cousre, my love comes partly from the fact that Aladdin and Squall are in the same game. There's just something wacky, yet cool about it. Now if only Darkwing Duck would show up (I can dream!).

sorus, shut it. maybe mixing in disney was a bad idea, but hey, at least pirates of the caribbean makes up for the cheesy stuff in it.

Getting rather testy in response to someone expressing their opinion.
Do keep in mind my issue was with the Disney characters. If Square made a similar story without the Disney characters they could have pulled off something really dark and twisted.
Like, American McGee's Alice twisted.
The potential was there.
Megatron - January 11, 2008 08:19 AM (GMT)
You thought Donald was more useful than Goofy? Goofy is the one that kept me alive! He kicks so much ass! In fact, Knock Smash is actualy the most powerful attack in the game!
And Sorus, it was the inclusion of dinsey that made me look into the series and buy the games. It's because of Kingdom Hearts that I got into Final Fantasy VII. It was Sephiroth in the first KH that got me to look into it, and now I love FF7. I still can't decide if my favorite character is Sephiroth or Vincent Valentine, although I also love Cloud and Yuffie.
As for it being darker, KH is actualy one of the only games where I'm actualy scared going into a boss fight. I supose I don't play any scary videogames, but I'm far less afraid to go into a boss fight in Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Spawn Armagedon.
Blade Raider, I could not agree more about including Darkwing Duck! Saint Cenard would make an awesome level! They'd have to use the Fearsome Five. In fact, Mega-Negaduck would make one frickin' awesome boss fight! And plus, it would just be awesome to have Darkwing as a party member, even if he is totaly incompitant. Darkwing is by far the best TV series Disney ever did (DEFINATELY the best them song, I think I actualy know it by heart), and deserves far more recognition than it gets. It was really popular when it was on, they even had Darkwing. Gozlin, and Launchpad walking around at Disneyland back in the day. (I think I actualy have Darkwing's autograph in my old autograph book.)
Good job Dark Mousette. Thanks for using me in it!

The little creature that lives within BlackZarak is Devil Z. A little research into Transformers would probably have picked that out, but I remember him giving you that image and telling you who his little demon was.
You know, Kingdom Hearts as a storyline just doesn't appeal to me. I dunno, seemed a little to fanboyish. And I mean that not because of the heavy crossover content, but more because of the plot and the ORIGINAL characters/creatures/locations/organizations/ect that were created for it.
As a GAME Kingdom Hearts is exceptional. So far every single game in the series that I have played has had tight player control, fun graphics, reasonable learning curve, and overall satisfied me both for intellectual stimulation(of the tactical kind, not of the literary kind) and by action oriented reflex stimulation.
And yes, if Duckberg gets it's place in Kingdom Hearts, St. Candard should as well. Personally, I prefer the Nightmare Before Christmas level.
Oh, and DarkWing Duck is not totally incompetent. He might be MOSTLY incompetant, but he has his moments. Certainly as many as Bonkers did(which was meant to be Who Framed Roger Rabbit the series, but for legal issues).
While on the subject, and since I just replied to my sprites thread, who here would like to see Blade Raider team up with the Justice Ducks(well, Darkwing and Gizmoduck, don't have sprites of the rest) to battle F.O.W.L.s new Fearsome Five? I've ripped almost the entire DarkWing Duck NES game of sprites(some one please tell me where "Wolfman-Duck" came from, I don't remember him in the show), and I have most of the backgrounds both in map and tile form. Plus sprites/backgrounds from the Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, and other Disney games(Capcom went surprisingly all out on those games, they are a pleasure to play and to me at least, work with the sprites). That was actually one of the plots I was tossing around for a TOAWAR videogame...
Of course, since I can't get BladeRaider to even DRAW HIS SWORD PROPERLY, that project is on indefinet hold.

So, Mousette, you want to know about the smooOch, hé?
Well, I have been smOoOooching people around AUG since the day I appeared in AUG. As for my reasons... totally mysterious. More or less like spreading scent and my territory, much more efficient and less smelly than peeing all around. :D
Also, I'm a Montreal woman, and we greet family and friends by kissing on both cheeks, starting from the right cheek. Men will only greet women in this matter (no men/men), but women will kiss both men and women.
As far as I know, this custom is only in Québec, and in all other provinces, you just shake hands. I think it is a French/Latin thing. I remember when I started greeting my newly established Calgary friends a few years ago, they didn't know what to make of it, but soon, they did understand.
I also remember, when I first met a few AUGers in real life (Botcon), some thought I was coming on to them. LOL! Always funny to see people stunned. :D

I actually did a "Darkwing Man" in City of Villains.
Still can't get that bloody sword to work right. The main problem is that it's on his far shoulder, and I want his far hand to be the one to grasp it. Meaning than the slash has him leaning and twisting into the motion, and I'm having a devil of a time spriting the BACK of his head and showing that he's still looking at what he's hitting.

DARKWING SPRITES! WOOOOO!!!!!
JW% - January 13, 2008 05:54 AM (GMT)
I've had them for sometime now(almost a year or more I think, Starshooters bat alt mode is actually from the game). DarkWing Duck had a NES video game after all, I didn't even have to edit those(well, I recolored Darkwing into Nega, since NegaDuck isn't in the game for some odd reason). The only thing new there is Yoda, whom I'm still working on(definetly not happy with him).
For size referances though, Yoda is the same size as PrettySparrow. They both use the same sprite base, and in-story(which doesn't obey my sprite sizes) they probably stand about the same height as well.
Star The Wanderer - January 13, 2008 05:57 AM (GMT)
Hate to be picky, but you are missing Archangel for the TAOWAR collection, being Blades RL brother, hes a major role player for the story we've got hashed out for the future comics. Not to mention, hes an actual (if rather quiet) poster here on the AUG. Any plans to make him?
JW% - January 13, 2008 06:07 AM (GMT)
Archangel B4U, Mach Sabre, Autobotbubbs, and AutobotWonko are on my list(They're all actual posters here, just somewhat infrequent), but as yet have not been worked on. Others have demanded my attention.

That is freaking awesome!
Two things may help the sword problem your having. If the coat is in the way, feel free to remove it (My original reason for that coat was beacuse the figure's shoulders where to loose. It's been fixed and the coat is just there for coolness now). The other thing may help more. On the back of the figure's head, it looks like this:

Maybe the bandana knot or the bandana tails could help show direction.
On the Yoda, it looks very good. Only things wrong is he ain't wearing a shirt (hair chested Yoda! :sharky: ) and his rode colors are wrong (though they are invented in the Clone Wars cartoon). Should look more like this (hope you don't mind me editing it):

On another note, hunted down the DarkWing Duck game. Forgot all about that thing. Capcom did great Disney games, which is really funny. My personal favorite was Aladdin (which was good enough to make it on to the GBA). Anyways, the Wolfman Duck was made for the game. Don't know why.

I THINK I've got it worked out. The problem wasn't so much that I didn't know what the back of the head looked like, it was that when I showed the back of the head it made it look as if he was looking away from his target(which presumably is in front of him, thus would have him looking forward). I think the solution is actually the coat. All I have to do is give it a collar that hides most of his head and then have the head face forwards. Normally that would make it look like his head is twisted on backwards, but with the collar obscuring it(to the point where only the hair and the headband are visible to show the direction being looked), things might work. I'll post it when I think I've got it working.
Yoda with a bare chest was intentional(He's a macho manly tridactyl whatsit!). He actually has a hooded robe that I can put on him on TOP of that open chested vest. As I said still working on it... are you sure it should be yellow instead of brown? I kinda like the brown myself...
And I liked Wolfduck, or Wolfman Duck, or whatever he was called... he had a pretty cool design(more Jekle and Hyde than werewolf though)

Could work. Also may help to know that the current coat I've been using has a hood (didn't cut it off this time). Though it's always down because it gets in the way of the sword, I could see it looking like a collar while moving.

Yeah, I got that wrong to, but in the ballpark of lighter rode. Here, have a stock images.

He does have a alternate costume at the first of the Clone Wars series. This is my favorite look for Yoda because of the hood and Lightsaber straped to his back. Just got this figure recently to and love it (hint hint)
http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=/...dakybuckYfr.jpgSorry for the toy pic, but I just can't find a picture of it otherwise. Half the problem is that they name to many things Clone Wars! I type "Clone Wars screenshots" and get a Xbox game. I type "Clone Wars cartoon" and I get the upcoming CGI one (btw, complete waste of time as it's been done and that's what I'm looking for!). Serously, someone at the Skywalker Ranch needs to be shot <_<
His rode colors are the inverts of most Jedi (dark rode on top of light clothes).

That should show you how much I like that Wolfman-Duck design. I did a little modifying to him(took out the beak, gave him fleshtone instead of white feathers, added poses) and I thought about doing a Mister Hyde monster from Van Helsing shortly after the movie was released. Never did find a use for those sprites.
There's some Yoda costumes for you. I dunno. Animating him will be a pain. Probably won't.
Below Yoda is some attempts at Archangel. They look pretty bad, but they're all I've got of those four Transfandomers. Could some one give me some suggestions on how to represent Archangel B4U, Mach Sabre, Autobotbubbs, and AutobotWonko?
Beside them we've got an unknown flying sled from GIJoe, and unknown knife throwing enemy from DarkWing Duck. I wouldn't mind having them identified, but I suspect it doesn't matter.
Bottom row is a random Battle Droid, and a collection of Hearts from various Legend of Zelda games. I don't remember why I put them on this sheet. Anyway, uploaded that along with this animation...

Not sure how well that's working, but I need to take a break from it. After awhile it just looks like 4 dimensional pixels to me rather than an image.

The Woldman edit reminds me of Bluto. Nice Mister Hyde idea there.
Yoda looks cool and yeah, he would be a pain to animated.
As for Archangel, the middle one reminds me of Skipper with Gilligan's hat. Here's the hat he wears. Maybe it will help.
http://www.amazon.com/Bleach-Urahara-Kisuk...y/dp/B000NO54SGI've heard that enemy be called a Dagger Duck. Cool name, cool looking sprite. Like the Wolfduck, it was made for the game (as far as I know). It's a parody of the Megaman villians that do the same thing.
Put that Battle Droid in normal colors and we got a Roger :sharky:
Think that sword animation looks great :ilikepie:

I could swear that the "dagger duck" was an enemy from NES "Duck Tales" (or possibly the rarer "Duck Tales 2").
There was also a Darkwing Duck game for the Turbo Graphix 16.
JW% - January 17, 2008 07:49 AM (GMT)
The Turbograph 16 game has a different resolution setting, and mixing the sprites would look funny. Besides, it only has like four bosses(and alot of Eggmen). It might be easier just to make a Tuskinnini sprite honestly. Besides, the game itself I hear wasn't that fun, with limited ammo for the gas gun and DW's martial arts being simulated by jumping on the head of your foe(Mario is a martial artist... who knew?). Don't have a Turbo graphix 16 myself to try it out.
"Dagger Duck" I can assure you is indeed from the DarkWing Duck NES game by Capcom. I do have several sprites from DuckTales and DuckTales 2 however, if that's an interest(most of them were downloaded, not my own rips). I would have liked to hear more about this "Dagger Duck" since there really is no Megaman enemy quite like that. True, the Sniper Joe uses the same tactics, but he hides behind a riot shield and uses the same weapon as Megaman. This guy hides behind his cape(yes, it's a bullet proof cape. DW has the same trick) and throws daggers. Honestly it seemed pretty darn original, considering.

Comic? What comic? Never heard of the comic! You'll note my sprite of him has a skyblue hawaiian shirt(right from off of Dales back from Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers) with green... um dots(at that resolution who can tell their palm trees?) and during the recent "Return to the Whitehouse" story, I checked, he's wearing green pants and green boots. I'll change that to khaki colored and sandals.
Yes, that's supposed to be Grand Moff Daniel in his garish BM Silverbolt form. I'm glad he appreciates his appearance. And Archangel, and a Dalek, and Poppa Smurf, and the TARDIS. I couldn't resist(the TARDIS is half from the NES Superman game, and half from the NES Nightshade game, with some modifications... namely it was colored blue instead of the red the phone booths appear in the game). Why the Smurfs and the Daleks have joined forces however is as yet unknown...

Why'd you ask then? And to be honest, most of the 'finer' details don't show at my computer's resolution. To be honest, your comic can be a huge eye strain for me, I've got to where I download the picture and view it with a picture viewer and then I have to zoom in several times to actually tell who is who.
JW% - January 17, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
I was wondering if the TAOWAR comic was the final word on how he was to look, or some other design should be incorporated as well(Kahki pants and sandals!). For example, Agent X is NOT using his TAOWAR design, he uses his WARPED design. Asking about the shirt was in just being silly, since it(and now the hat) is really the only thing I had.
And quite frankly I was having nasty ideas about merging the two. Agent X being the black car transformer, but with Cyclopses Visor, and a big white "X" painted across his roof.
And I'm quite aware that my sprites are small. The comic has them, usually, at 200% or 300% enlargement(and the strips are still the smallest comic on these forums). The games have them at 200% enlargement unless I'm playing with the screen size(did a Viewtiful Joe like game once with Zoom and Slow features. Fully zoomed out it got hard to identify things, but easier to anticipate incomming threats). The .gifs(animations, and the occasional group shot) however have them at "actual size" and are indeed apt to give you eye strain if you look to hard at them. I'm not really sure what to do about that, since, as an animation, I don't want them much larger than this :) certainly not this big :swarm: unless I'm trying to do a web banner.
