Title: "Wolverine and the X-Men" New cartoon trailer
LightSlayer - February 4, 2008 10:52 PM (GMT)
| QUOTE |
When an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, the beaten heroes walk away from it all.
But then they're given a rare glimpse into the future, and see a world in utter ruin, ruled by giant destructive robots. A world that spiraled out of control because the X-Men had given up.
So now the most legendary of all X-Men takes the lead - Wolverine! Reuniting these broken heroes, Wolverine embarks on the ultimate mission - to prevent de world's destruction.
To rescue us from ourselves. To save the future.

I think this series looks GREAT! Altho I hate the title...
To bad it hasnt been picked up by a US broadcaster.
O.Supreme - February 4, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
Well I cant get the link to work at the moment, but wasn't that the underlying title of the last 2 X-men animated series and all 3 feature films?? B)
Duh Duh Duh DAAAAAAA!!!!!- "Wolverine- and his Amazing Friends!!! Staring Iceman & Firestar!!! (sorry couln't resist....) ;)
JW% - February 4, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
Actually, this looks like basically X-men: Evolution Part 2...
Agent X - February 4, 2008 11:20 PM (GMT)
That looks real intresting. The trailer makes it look like a direct to DVD movie. The animation makes it look alike a follow-up to "X-Men: Evolution".
Roadbuster - February 4, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Evolution after a few years goes by.... which isn't a bad thing. Evolution was pretty good.
This looks pretty dark. Wonder when it'll be aired?
Poop-Flinger Prime - February 5, 2008 01:51 AM (GMT)
It will be aired at precisely the time Roadbuster must be away from his TV and all recording devices are broken....
Dinobot 2 - February 5, 2008 02:52 AM (GMT)
So is it actually connected to X-Men Evolution or not?
LightSlayer - February 5, 2008 03:24 AM (GMT)
I dont know, but the animation style is similar.
Dreadnought - February 5, 2008 06:01 AM (GMT)
I'll admit, originally the title turned me off 'cause I REALLY think Wol;verine gets WAY too much hype. But I genuinly liked X-men evolution and this looks like a following of that. More importantly it was done RIGHT so I could actually get into this. I can't wait to catch it.
Poop-Flinger Prime - February 5, 2008 06:12 AM (GMT)
Whilst Logan clearly has the drive an ability to be a great leader, he only does it because its what has to be done not because he wants to. he's a loner by nature and will always be that way.
Also I did like his voice here, but I would still prefer Mark Hamill doing the voice. he was great in the X2 Wolverine's Revenge game.

even though they did make him look like a really angry Bruce Campbell, it was a fun game.

Very true. Way too much attention. I don't see Wolverine traveling all over reuniting the X-Men. I would think that be more of a Cyclops thing. I wonder if Jean Grey is really dead in this show I'm kind of intrigued of seeing a darker Cyclops. Not the pussy version from the X-Men movies. The chow looks pretty cool. Hopefully it's more adult like the 90's version and less like Evolution.

I thought Scott McNeil did a great Wolvie in X-Men: Evolution ;)

French distribution... it'll end up on ABC's Family Channel block of programing, Jetix with Power Rangers, Pucca, etc....

He played the part quite well. Incidentally, the Wolverine Voice in this preview sounds like Steven Blum who voiced Wolverine in the Video games :Xmen Legends 1 & 2, and Ultimate Alliance.
Just for fun, here is a list of all the VA's who have voiced
Wolverine***just noticed this list isn't quite complete. In the various " Marvel vs." Fighting Games Cathal Dodd (from the 1992-1997 series) voice was used.

Which is... pretty much always.
Thank God for YouTube.
Icefang - February 9, 2008 03:58 PM (GMT)
Trailer? So, is this the same trailer or someone's mock-up?
If it is the trailer, I'm lovin it.
LightSlayer - February 10, 2008 02:56 AM (GMT)
Thats the trailer. Its freakin COOL!
Blade Raider - February 10, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
I hate X-Men right now. They keep killing Professor X and skipping over Cyclop, Storm, and even Beast to make Wolverine the leader. He isn't a leader, why do they keep making him one.
Aside from that, it looks awesome and it does look like it's continuing Evolution.
Grand Moff Daniel - February 10, 2008 03:57 AM (GMT)
*Yawn*
Wake me when they do an eXiles TV series....
Agent X - February 10, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
Maybe they're going to tie this series in with the string of Marvel-to-DVD movies (Iron Man, Ultimate Avengers, Dr. Strange).

hmm, there's an idea.
Could work...
Curse Hawkwind - February 10, 2008 01:30 PM (GMT)
the series looks awesome. i mean....my favorite x-man was always a tie between colossus and nightcrawler, but ive always had a fondness for wolverine.
i think tony stark said it best during the beginning of the new avengers: "we need him around....to be able to do the things none of us would ever dream of doing" i probably skewered that quote but you get the idea. he's pretty much a more indestructable version of the punisher((and i love the punisher so that could be why i love wolverine))
i really hope its a continuation of evolution. evolution was one of my favorite series ever and i was pissed that they ended it.
Cyberpumpkin - February 10, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
"Wolverine and the {Market Doesn't Care Who Else}"
I just hope we get at least 3 desktop-wallpaper-ready shots per episode with Wolvie crossing his claws.
Because, you know, there just aren't enough artists' renditions of that stupid-ass pose.
JW% - February 10, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
This new version looks to sport the cast of Evolution, with the exception of no Jean Grey(instead we have White Queen).
Yes, that means Nightcrawler! Fuzzy elf is back! He's one of my favorites(along with Iceman and anyone else who can't take things seriously in the middle of a fight, taunting and wisecracking. Unfortunately, that's not Wolverine...

That'd be sweet. I'd also like to see NewWarriors and ThunderBolts.

Grand Moff Daniel - February 11, 2008 12:08 AM (GMT)
ohh look, Rogue's a bad guy again...... more meh.
Poop-Flinger Prime - February 12, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
I know! that bitch! someone should claw her eyes out...

GRIMLOCK24 - February 14, 2008 04:46 AM (GMT)
Wow, all this talk of Marvel animated shows makes me wish they'd turn "Runaways" into a TV series.
LightSlayer - May 8, 2008 03:26 AM (GMT)
Blade Raider - May 8, 2008 05:44 AM (GMT)

If Wolverine was wearing Red, they could be a Ranger team...
I still can't decide if I'm going to like or hate this show. If it continues Evolution, then I'm going to like it. If not, it's going to feel as random as X-Men 3 did. Hell, just making Wolverine leader is absurd to me, however, the Evolution version seems best fitted than any other Wolverine I've seen. Even then, my position still stands: Wolverine should NEVER lead!
Poop-Flinger Prime - May 8, 2008 12:51 PM (GMT)
He clearly does it because it needs to be done. You know he doesn't want to lead. he's a loner. It is also obvious that he has the ability and the charisma to pull it off without being a dick like Cyclops (even in the comics that I remember). So I feel I must disagree with you on this point. This may also be a publicity stunt to get more viewers as Wolverine has always been one of the most popular Heroes in the Marvel universe, but eh, it works for me thus far.
Mako Crab - May 9, 2008 03:17 AM (GMT)
I gave up on X-Men a long time ago. Somewhere between all the melodrama and gigantic summer crossovers, it just stopped being fun. That, and all my favorite characters got shuffled into the background or right out of the book. X-Men Evolution was really fun and reminded me why I liked them in the first place, but I still don't know about this new show.
Cyberpumpkin - May 9, 2008 06:23 AM (GMT)
Yawn. X-Men really needs to find a new way to be culturally relevant. Their "opression by the Man" isn't really as compelling as it may have been in the 70's.
On the other hand, the animation looks pretty decent. This might be pretty good, although it looks really dramatic for a 6-12 agegroup.
Daniel the Saint - May 9, 2008 07:09 AM (GMT)
Actually, they've always been outsiders - and it's nice to see the inclusion of Dust - an Islamic woman in traditional garb.
Roadbuster - May 12, 2008 09:38 PM (GMT)
finally watched the new trailer...
I don't know, it looks pretty cool to me. Is there yet any info on when/what it will actually be?
Dr Archeville - May 13, 2008 12:52 PM (GMT)
Animated series, starts Spring 2009.
On NickToons!
Roadbuster - May 13, 2008 03:22 PM (GMT)
Anyone else watch the Ironman/Spidey/Hulk three part short they have on there?
Or take notice of the 'Next Avengers' cartoon (which did NOT thrill me...)
Dinobot 2 - May 17, 2008 06:04 PM (GMT)
Has potential but I refuse to get excited about it.
Dr Archeville - July 2, 2008 01:10 PM (GMT)
Liberation Entertainment have announced the first DVD will be released on November 3rd in the United Kingdom.
IMDB page w/ voice cast.
O.Supreme - August 28, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
Looks like the series premiered In Central & South America this past week. Youtube had some links to the first episode (in spanish of course), but were of course taken down shortly after. I'm not in high anticipation of this series, but I figure those that are will want to see it as soon as possible. I just dont understand why most countries cant get this at the same time?? Unfortunately I cannot access Veoh at work, buy I'm sure it will turn up there soon if it hasn't already.
YTV is supposed to begin airing it next week, while U.S. viewers have to wait until 2009 on NickToons......
