BlackZarak - June 11, 2008 06:29 AM (GMT)

Poop-Flinger Prime - June 11, 2008 11:38 AM (GMT)

Yeah saw Iron Man and loved the shit out of it. If you didn't like it...then you have problems. It was an amazing movie.

yeah well, I loved it too, save for a few details.
1: he was not supposed to reveal his identity so soon
2: too soon for fury to come knocking asking about the avengers
but other than that it was pure gold. Downey was Tony Stark to the core.

dude...it's a movie.
It's NEVER GOING TO BE EXACTLY LIKE THE COMICS.
Also...in the Ultimate Universe it's public knowledge that Tony Stark was Iron Man from the begining...so not every comic says his identity gets outed around the same timeframe. Plus not to mention the fact that Tony's identity as Iron Man has been outed more times than I can think of in the regular Marvel U.
As for the Fury thing...I hear that The Avengers movie is going to follow the Ultimates comic more closely than the actual Avengers comic. If that's the case...Fury popped up exactly when he was supposed to. They were doing that to set up The Avengers movie...and to tell fans that "hey...just like our comics...now our movies will share the same universe as well."
Seriously...it sounds like you're just grasping for straws trying to find something wrong with the damn movie.
Plus...you said the movie had some glaring inconsistencies...and those aren't inconsistencies, those are comparisons to the comics. The Movies and the comics are 2 different things.
Next thing you know you are going to complain about the fact that Tony Stark makes an appearance in the Incredible Hulk movie.

You know, I was having this same discussion with someone the other day... Movies vs. Comics/cartoons, except this was about X-Men 3...
Prisma Nova - June 12, 2008 10:30 AM (GMT)
We had the same arguments as for the Transformers movie... It is a movie ADAPTATION, it becomes it's own universe.
Poop-Flinger Prime - June 12, 2008 11:45 AM (GMT)
well it just didn't seem right to me is all. that was my only complaint :P
Roadbuster - June 12, 2008 03:44 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it makes sense that they are moving towards Ultimate Avengers. We already have Hulk, and Ironman. We need what... Thor, and they could easily throw Spiderman and Wolverine in there in place of Pym... who else are we missing?

No one important, just the leader, Captain America. Btw, Cap and Thor are to be the next round of Marvel movies (Cap's movie is currently named "The First Avenger: Captain America"). Also, there's surpose to be one more Ironman movie, then the Avengers movie is surpose to count as the 3rd Ironman movie (as the Director thinks the Marvel movies crap out after 2 movies and I agree).
Now, I'm thinking there's a good chance they won't use Spidey or Wolverine to avoid egos letting in the way, though I'd think it'd be cool to use them...as long as Wolverine ain't the leader (yeah, I'm not letting that go :P)

ya know I heard somewhere that Matthew Mcconaughey may be cast as Thor..
Roadbuster - June 12, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Thor with a southern accent...
Dr Archeville - June 12, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
I'd heard Thor'll have a cameo in
Iron Man 2 (due out April 2010).
And there were plans to have Cap make a cameo in
The Incredible Hulk,
but it got cut, but will be in the DVD.
I've heard they keep going back and forth on the Ant-Man movie, between having it be as serious as the other Marvel movies, or having it be more aimed at kids (under the belief that "Ant-Man" is a silly name suitable only for a kid's movie). Silly name or not, the character can easily be done as seriously as any of the other Marvel movies.
They're shooting for a summer 2012 release for the Avengers movie.

Not much, life still sucks for me. Sadly, I've mellowed out, so unless I get in a random mood, no more attemping to frag and commit mass-genocide.
Everyone else: Good!
Hey, I'd like to think I'm one of the reasons why, finally, BZ decided to put in an un-rated forum. *evil grin*
