I was just about to post this. Once again we sadly lose a voice of reason in this country. He will be missed.

I never thought he was funny. Anything I ever seen was just pointless vulgarity.

You know something, the next time you have a thought on the deceased, show some respect and keep it to yourself.

I understand that, not everyone gets his comedy. I think Dane Cook is a piece of crap, but many people still love him. Okay, to be fair, they aren't even in the same ballpark. How about Sam Kinison, I was never crazy about his comedy, but his legacy will live on.

this thread is about the death of a much-loved Celebrity. If you have nothing constructive to say, please do not post. perhaps something like this would have been more acceptable:
"I never really liked his brand of humor, but I am sorry he died"
Even I am not that tactless.

Oh please...
I wouldn't have wished ill on the man, but I never liked his humor. He was more interested in shock-value and being disgusting than actually making anyone laugh.
And he'd agree with that. He liked freaking people out. The man wouldn't care that people declared their dislike of his humor after he's dead.
Truthfully, I believe he did great harm, but that's over and done with now. May G'd rest his soul.

I was really sad when I heard this news. I liked him whenever I saw him, and he was funny. As silly as it may sound, I still remember so many years ago when he was Mr. Conductor on Shining Time Station. Silly I know, but when I was 3 years old or so I loved that show and I loved him on it. So long George, you were awesome.

I'm sorry to see him go. Was he the funniest guy onm the planet, hell no, but alot of his "comedy" wasn't to make you laugh it was to make you think and I enjoyed that alot. I'll miss him and what he was trying to do.
Hey George? F#ck you!

Sounds like the two of you have the same opinion, just voiced differently.
Personally, I never considered him all that shocking, and a number of his "thoughtful" moments sometimes were misdirected, but I at least see where he's going for. On the whole as a comedian he's a success. I laugh even now at his works.
Ahh... to mark this occasion, my primary audio reader decided to crash while I listened to "Napalm and Silly Putty"(book on MP3) and now I need to switch to a different player since that one seems broke beyond repair and is giving me the finger. Seems fitting.
Poop-Flinger Prime - June 24, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
He did not want to shock people, just point out all the stupidity in life and in our culture. He did no harm to anyone, now be positive or be silent, Virus.
