Hrm... interesting. We'll see if Diablo's addictiveness still holds up

Curse Hawkwind - June 30, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
i still play D2 religiously

Roadbuster - June 30, 2008 05:12 PM (GMT)
Never got the second one.

Lost many... many... many hours of life to the first one

LightSlayer - June 30, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
meh I've never even played Diablo....

Blade Raider - June 30, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
Played a little of Diablo, but it couldn't hold my attention like most of Blizzard's games.

Archangel_B4U - June 30, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
looks like a big improvement ill wait till it comes out to a demo but at least blizzard is getting off Wow for a little bit :P

Dr Archeville - July 1, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
Diablo was the first computer game I played. Aside from things like Oregon Trail and those math games we played in elementary school.

Never played "Jones in The Fast Lane" by Sierra?

Grundy no think! Grundy Smash!

Roadbuster - July 1, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
Honestly, I thought Diablo had very little 'thinking' in it. It was a total Hack and slash...

Poop-Flinger Prime - July 1, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
well, you can use strategy in any game. if you want a thinking game, play the Legacy of Kain series or Okami :P

Icefang - July 1, 2008 10:09 PM (GMT)
Eh, D2 had a bit more strategy to it and was 100% better than the first one. I may have to upgrade the 'puter when this comes out...

Planes - July 2, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
Here's your strategy: roll a paladin and pump up your thorns aura to 1000% damage returned. Let things hit you. Throw in some zeal if you want to flail a bit more.

Poop-Flinger Prime - July 2, 2008 12:16 PM (GMT)
that's not strategy. Now you're just making fun of the game. Take that negativity someplace else please.

Roadbuster - July 2, 2008 03:01 PM (GMT)
Yeah, no place for negativity here... negative negasaying negator nanny negneg!

(who, btw, is essentially correct... as was said earlier, ANY game can have stategy used in it... it's just a question of whether it's needed or not. Diablo was a great and addictive game, but a deep-thinker it was not!)

Poop-Flinger Prime - July 2, 2008 03:48 PM (GMT)
thats why I gave some better recommendations :)

Look out, it's the Optimism Nazi!

Poop-Flinger Prime - July 2, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
HEIL BLACK ZARAK!

Planes - July 3, 2008 02:28 PM (GMT)
Truth be told, I'm actually running around with a paladin using that build right now, more or less. The down side is, though, unless you're fighting carvers, ratmen, or something similarly small and weak, they don't tend to kill themselves very well on your thorns. As such, I'm really stacking up on Zeal and Sacrifice (zeal gets bonus damage from ranks in sacrifice). Its fun wading into the middle of a mob of zombies and clicking once to swing at six of them, while the rest slowly kill themselves.

Poop-Flinger Prime - July 3, 2008 02:31 PM (GMT)
I did something similar but used prayer instead. I also put an ovwewhelming amount of points into my hits so I had a stupid amount of HP by the time I started nightmare mode.

the msot fun I had, by far, was with my trap spec assassin. who needs to actually hit things when you can just put down a bunch of turrets and watch everything die?

Planes - July 3, 2008 02:41 PM (GMT)
I haven't played LoD ever since my copy exploded in my friend's CD drive. I might still have the shards kicking around in a zip-lock bag.
