It seems that he is like a superstar racer guy. Heh, his looks makes me think of the God Mercury (including colors). And he's hot looking!

Your comment alone prompted me to click the links. And you're right! He is cute!

Although some of the spotlights have been somewhat disappointing, I am glad to se this series will continue beyond the 4pt Revelations story line

My only question is: Why does he have a new Cybertronian mode?

As far as I knew he always had his Cybertronian mode, along with Kup, Hot Rod, Arcee and Springer.

I don't think he does. It's just an artistic rendition, like most of IDW's stuff.

I don't know, it's pretty noticably different than his "classic" appearance. Bulkier. And the car mode looks more like Arcee than Blurr really. Or maybe Transtech Cheetor.

He still looks good. Particularly in robot mode. Only thing I'd change would be those massive turbines on his back, and his belt/thighguard/SKIRT.

Artist rendition can cover a lot. I mean, the G1 cartoon was only an artist rendition of the toy. The two only look alike in a distant way in all reality. This is no different.

I guess they want to explore new esthetic ways to render the character. More like an updated look, since this series is, in a way, a reboot. We did have this kind of visual alteration, more or less, in the previous DW universe.
