Title: Meg's Singing Videos

Meg - February 20, 2008 09:07 PM (GMT)
So, today I sang solo for the first time today in my musical theater voice class, singing "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie. I'm mildly happy with it, considering it was 10 am and I'd been up since 7:30.

I also had to sing an "audition cut". An audition cut is 16-32 measures of the song, used for auditions. My teacher gave me some pointers after my song, which I (tried) to add in. There's definitely a lot to be done, but here's that.

There's a lot to be added on once I start performing more!

Those clips were GREAT! Your voice is awesome!

I definitely want to see more!

Sophie-Holly - February 21, 2008 05:15 AM (GMT)
Yayyy for you! That was awesome! I loved the audition cut, I thought it was great!

My mum listened to it too and thought you were awesome... which you so are :D Can't wait for more!

MichelleW - February 22, 2008 06:09 AM (GMT)
I posted comments on youtube on both clips but just had to say you're a great singer. Keep it up and you'll go far. Congrats! And yes, post more videos please. Now if only I were brave enough to do that...and had an actual dvd recorder instead of just a digital camera. hehehe.

I was watching and dancing! :) Alex was like, "Whoever's singing in there is great!" I lied and said, "It's ME!" and then I pouted and said "No, it's Meg...but I wish it was me!" You are so fantastic! I wish I could sing...even a little bit!

Thank you, guys! I uploaded a practice of "Home", both the full song and an audition cut (done twice).

I thought you did a great job on "Home!" That's a hard song to sing!

TrudiRose - March 8, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
I found it hard to hear your voice - the piano was drowning you out. Is there a way to record it with the piano lower and your voice louder?

Meg - March 8, 2008 05:04 AM (GMT)
Not really. I know it was really hard to hear; it was just a rehearsal. Once I have the videos, it'll be easy to hear, I hope. :)

MichelleW - March 8, 2008 06:20 AM (GMT)
Please put the videos up ASAP, for whatever reason I wasn't able to hear either of them.

But I'm sure you did a great job.

Sophie-Holly - March 8, 2008 11:59 AM (GMT)
From what I could hear, you sounded great! But.. you always do, I would never doubt it!

Meg - April 4, 2008 07:28 PM (GMT)
Finally performed "Home"... it's really shaky because we didn't warm up before hand, I was off to a bad start with the song and pianist, and the pianist didn't know the song at ALL, although I practiced it with her twice. Oh, and I'm working on two hours of sleep. :P

Anyway... yes, here we are.

No excuses, of course. Please excuse the foul notes, though. :)

Wow, great job, Meg :) I loved it! You definitely have an amazing voice! And you look just beautiful!

I went to a karaoke bar last night to sing for the first time in a few years, and the people I went with got my video. I wish they would have picked one of my upbeat songs (you had to choose a few in case someone else wanted that song), but here we go!

Hurt: Christina Aguleria

That looks quite different from the Japanese karaoke bars I've been to ~ fun :) Is there a live drummer behind you? Is the rest of the music live too?

I don't know the song (maaaaybe I've heard it on the radio sometime) but your singing is nice (^-^) You look professional on the stage :)

Nikki - May 23, 2008 07:30 PM (GMT)
WOW. That is SUCH hard song to sing, but you did it wonderfully! :D I'm proud! (And I love how you have a groupie and all :P)

P.S.: I LOVE your top.

Meg - May 23, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
LOL Thanks! It was a REALLY cool, professional place. I'd never been anywhere like that before; they had a completely live band, two female backup singers and one male backup singer. It was really intimidating to be up there but I had a blast. :)

And LOL Nikki, my shirt is just a plain old button down with my favorite vest over it. It was sweaty. :P

Nikki - May 23, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
Whatever, it looked cool :P

Oh, so it was actually a LIVE band? Psht, I didn't even notice :P (you kind of took the screen away)

Sophie-Holly - May 24, 2008 01:06 AM (GMT)
Wow, how pro is that?? A live band and back up singers... how cool! You did amazing :) I loved it!

TrudiRose - May 24, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
Wow, Meg - I just got a chance to listen to this, and you sound TOTALLY professional! Beautiful job!

PrincessKayte - August 29, 2009 04:15 AM (GMT)
You have such an awesome voice, Meg! :D
