General Rules
- These rules are all fairly flexible, but do your best to keep to them.
- Any questions about the rules or about this RPG can be asked and answered in the Help board.
- Regarding language, you may swear mildly in OOC, and you can swear and converse as you wish in BIC. If you have a problem with bad language, then you may be in the wrong place.
- Posts must be AT LEAST two sentences long.
- Try and use correct grammar.
- Try and use RPG language - eg cran instead of head, pool instead of eye - but be fun and expressive with your posting rather than focusing on how pretty they sound.
- For the love of all that is fair and good in our world, please don't use awful multicoloured fonts. As pretty as you think they are, they're really not, and they make the site look as if a hyperactive child has scribbled on it with every colour of crayon they have. So just don't do it.
EQUINE RULES
Terra Rules
- A stallion can only claim one terra to reside in, create a thread to have your stallion character claim a land.
- There can only be one King and one Lord of each alignment.
- There can only be one Queen and one Lady of each alignment.
- There cannot be a Queen/Lady without there first being a King/Lord.
- The King/Lord chooses their Queen/Lady.
- A member of admin must post in your claiming thread to confirm it.
Combat (War) Rules
- All fit and able stallions must fight.
- Mares may fight if they wish.
- Foals may NOT fight.
- The King leads their alignment into battle.
- Wars can only be between different sides, so no Dark vs. Dark.
- Lead Mare takes over if the Lead Stag is gone.
Combat (Mare/Terra) Rules
- To challenge for a land already owned by a stallion, make a thread there saying you challenge for it.
- If the person does not reply within three full days, the terra is rightfully yours.
- This does not count if the person has posted saying they will be gone for a period of time on the Leaving board.
- If the owner replies within the specified three days, you must go and fight it out at Haunted Hollow.
- In the event of a battle, absolutely NO powerplaying is allowed. If you persistently powerplay/godmode, you CAN and WILL be banned.
- Ignorance is not an excuse, if you don't know what powerplaying is it is all explained on the Help board.
Breeding Rules
- Breeding will begin at the beginning of summer, so that foals will be born in the spring. This is when success rates are highest.
- Breeding is allowed out side of summer months, but mortality rates are higher outside of ideal time for birthing ie: winter too cold for a newborn.
- Nothing excesively graphic/offensive, and keep breeding realistic.
- When you have finished breeding post the sires and dams stats on the New Life Stats board and foal's stats will be created by an admin member. See the board for the layout example.
- Some can be still borns, this be your warning.
Foaling Rules
- You will be given foal stats shortly after you are done breeding and have posted the parents stats in a thread on the New Life Stats board.
- All flickas and colts born after the heir and their parents are the leads are Royal foals.
Mare Rules
- Must go with the stag if he claims you unless he is of a different side or has no terra.
- Can breed once 3 years old.
- Stops nursing foal once the foal is 1.
- Can fight other mares for love, honour or position.
- Cannot claim terras.
- Cannot post in ANY terras unless the terra of the stag that had claimed you.
- Though you may ask a stallion to escort you to another terra for whatever reason.
- May post in free lands whenever she wishes.
- ALL common mares may be forcebred by common equines, but only the Kings may forcebreed their Queens and only the Lords may forcebreed their Ladys.
Stag Rules
- MAY claim terras.
- Can fight for Alpha and for Lord spot, though King position can only be challeneged once the King is of 8 years of age and Lord the same.
- Kings/Lords/Alphas can breed with any mares in his terra including those belonging to other stallions of the herd. It's an RP choice
- If another herd stallion leaves the King/Lord/Alpha gets to keep his mares.
HUMAN RULES
Territories
- Loose structure: humans in this RPG are simple creatures. Their will be an Alpha male and female to be the tribe leaders, and a Shaman to guide the tribe on the more spiritual aspects of the world.
- Character will be put in a tribe by admin depending on the personality of a character.
- Characters who are still VERY out of place will be forced out of the tribe and welcomed into another, hopefully, more suitable one.
Shelter
- Characters construct their own houses with materials they gather themselves. Admin will have to see appropriate posts for material gathering from a player before their character can successfully create a shelter.
- Keep in mind the context of the game - the resources you have to make a shelter are limited to mud, dried grass, wood, stone, animal pelts and so on and so forth.
- Lack of technology dictates that dwellings are small and basic.
Capturing Horses
- Important: Horse characters that get captured can remain a character of the original player OR can be given to the player who plays the capturing human - which is the ideal circumstance for the sake of simplicity. However, it is still the players choice, and if I catch anyone forcing someone to give up their equine character, vengence shall be swift...
- Player can only have their characters capture the equine characters of other players. IE, they cannot fabricate a conveniantly placed horse to rope and tame. Just, no.
- Capturing will go more or less like combat. Each player gets 3 posts in which to play out their part in the capture. NB, the player of the equine character can choose to fight back, try to run away, or to be an easy catch, it is their choice and either way the 3 posts need to be done.
- If you really don't want to lose your wild horse character then you have a few options. 1: Fight back really hard in your capture posts 2: Make an escape attempt after your characters' catpure, if it's possible due to poor containment by your captor or what not. Only attempt escape if there is a realistic chance of success!
Humans and Horses
- If players wish to get their human character a horse, then they'd best get traveling with a rope to catch one.
- Horses can be given as gifts to whomever.
- Horses can be released back into the wild.
- Training is difficult, and takes a long time: success will depend on method and on willingness of horse.
- If your character catches a horse that is too wild, chances are that it will escape, make your capture choice wisely.
- Horse owners can breed their horses, but domestic animals often lose their vigor and don't comply, so this can be difficult. Foaling times and stats are the same as with wild horses.
Breeding and Children
- Same basic rules as with equines, and I really must stress... DON'T be graphic!
- Breeding and birthing both done inside the shelter of either party involved. Please, for the mercy of any who read, don't be graphic...
Men
- May not lord over female characters just because they're male (although it's fine if both player agree on it OOC).
- Must fight in wars and are responsible for hunting for their family.
- Can 'rape' any woman unless she is the Lead, only Lead Man may force the Lead Woman.
Women
- Allowed their free will, can go anywhere they please.
- They DON'T belong to their partner.
- They DON'T have to agree to having children.
- Are responsible for gathering supplies and food for their family
- Can be 'raped' by men, but only the Lead Man can force his Lead Woman.
War and Combat
- Much the same as with equines, but women may NOT fight, and children, definately not...
This game is very open ended, and not everything can be put into rules - so if ever in doubt, ask an admin member. Failing that, use your common sense and use REALISM and REASON as your guides.
