Title: A Hunt in the Wild

The Sovereign - September 2, 2007 11:55 AM (GMT)
Erus sits atop his proud and ancient steed and surveys the horizons of the vale from the top of a grassy hill. The prey of these lands has been scarce this day, and more than a league has been traveled in search of a beast to snare with an arrow. Suddenly, in the far off distance the vegetation rustled from the movement of a large beast, and from the thicket bounded a lively deer.

The mornings hunt continued on its day as Erus proceeded to stalk his quarry, directing his mighty mount to stick to the concealment offered by the trees and shrubbery littering the vale. The silent pursuit continued for some time; until the hapless deer stopped by a brook to take a drink of crystal aqua. Erus dismounted his steed and snuck forward, taking an arrow from his quiver and readying his bow.

The deer continued to drink from the stream as Erus pulled the arrow back on the bow string, pulling the string tight. He released the string and send the arrow hurtling through the air towards the deer, impacting the ignorant beast in the back of its head, tearing its skull in twain and shredding its brain; slaying it with haste. The freshly killed body collapsed onto the ground as Erus arose and strode forth calming to observe his prize. The deer was indeed a good one, young, strong and healthy; happy with his catch Erus sat beside his kill and elected to relax by smoking the last of the leaf on his person.

Long curling ribbons of sunlit hair cascade over the pale shoulders of a mounted woman as she rides along, peacefully admiring the world around her. She was Era, the Mistress, guardian and manipulator of this world. But for now she takes a break from her duties to enjoy the company of her loyal and gentle steed, Morgen.

Era and her mount continue on their directionless amble until the sun sits high in the heavens, having only just stopped to watch as a young buck sips from a sparkling stream. Era is startled when the tranquility of the moment is shattered by the thwacking of a thick arrow into the skull of the gentle beast. Era frowns, hit with a pang of pity as the delicate creature drops heavily to the earth. Era recognises the man who walks out to inspect the kill, and she can't help but smile her cheeky smile when she spots him. She had so missed her lover in their lengthy seperation - though that didn't mean she approved of his hunting out of boredom. Though she wishes to talk with him greatly, she elects to remain hidden from veiw until he has finished his inspection and has begun to puff on his long leaf-pipe.

Hello there! She shouts from atop her creamy mount, startling her slightly. Gentle pressure from her slender, pale legs and a soft tug on the horses silvery veil has her settled and calm beneath her again so that Era's focus can return to the man. Erus. The Master.

Morgen dances uneasily under the seat of her rider, settling when she feels gentle pressure to her middle from Era's limbs clamping about her and the contact on her veil. Nares flare as the scent of another equine is brought to her on the breeze, and she nickers a soft and warm greeting to the unseen.

The Sovereign - September 2, 2007 01:29 PM (GMT)
Erus lay beside the slain deer, breathing deep of his fine pipe-leaf and watching the morning sky as he heard a familiar call emanated from not too far away; the sweet voice of the woman he loves and had not seen for many a' season. He arose from his slouch by his prey and sauntered towards the majestic beauty who sat upon her gentle steed.

"Hello indeed, truly it has been far too long since I have locked eyes with you my dear" Erus spoke, almost enchanted by the occasion, and took another puff of his pipe before whistling to the distance before turning his full attention to the woman atop the noble steed; awaiting her reply and actions.

From the thick vegetation Baldr came bolting, ecstatic at the sound and scent of a fellow equine, ancient as he and friends for just as long, and pleased to hear the summons of his master. Tearing forth to where the whistle came Baldr stops, his frame quivering from the excitement and quite glad to hear the greeting of his kind was from whom he thought it was. New to the meeting Baldr stood nearest to Morgen and awaited what events would happen next.

Saregona - September 3, 2007 11:39 AM (GMT)
Morgen greets her old friend with a gentle nudge upon his sleek boa and a quiet, affectionate whicker of welcome.

"Good morning Baldr." She states simply in the language of equines, ever the quiet and reserved creature.

Era smiles her trademark sideways grin as she reaches over to fondle the ebony harks of Baldr, who had rushed to stand by Morgen, keeping her azure eyes locked on the dark ones of Erus. With an excited energy she then slips from the broad back of her horse, her locks and her scant, deer-hide garments catching on the oxi as she heads with arms outstretched to her lover and friend.

"I have missed you so much Erus!" She says delightedly as she nears him, knowing that she would momentarily be taken up into his strong embrace.

The Sovereign - September 3, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
"And I you my dear, too long has it been since I have heard the sweet melody of you voice and the enchanting beauty of your figure" Erus exclaims, his voice ecstatic. He took a number of steps forwards with his arms outstretched and beckoned his oldest friend and lover into his embrace, pulling her close, arms wrapped around her beautiful body as he sighs in delight. It had been long since the sweet yet subtle scent of her had drifted to his nose. From the corner of his eye he noted that his noble steed Baldr had arrived, and as he had expected he was just as delighted at the unforeseen meeting that was taking place, and was now standing by his old equine friend.

Baldr feels the soft touch of Morgen's delicate frame upon his and gently shivers in delight, long had it been since these ageless equines had met. He shifted his neck to turn to look at his old friend and nickers an anxious welcome at her. "Good morning to you too, you are looking fine this 'morn"

Saregona - September 3, 2007 12:37 PM (GMT)
Morgen feels a pleasant heat come to her crown at the anxious complement from the ebon stag, and feeling slightly shy she looks at her svelte flints, noticing that scuffing the ground had become facsinating all of a sudden. She hoped that he was not simply teasing her with his words - surely after all this time he knew how she, the gentlest and most reserved mare of all of the lands, felt about him. Chancing a look up at his regal crown from beneath her waxen forelock she replys in soft tones.

"As are you my old friend... you always do look... fine." She nickers, realising as she does just how ridiculous she probably sounded. She shakes the feeling of embarassment off with a brave smile and tentatively touches his muzzle with hers for no more than a reassuring second before returning her gaze to her shuffling daggers.

Sighing happily, wrapped in strong arms, Era plants tiny kisses upon the bare chest of Erus with her soft, pale pink lips before planting a last, lingering kiss upon his. She runs her small, slender hands through his ebonite hair, teasing it with her fingers, and enjoys the moment with her body pressed closely to his.

The Sovereign - September 4, 2007 10:37 AM (GMT)
Erus feels the warmth of his delightful beauty pulse across his skin, and can feel his own heart beat rapidly from the excitement. He feels the soft lips of Era caress his body and sighs a happy sigh, before receiving a long missed kiss on his lips. As he regained his thoughts he opened his mouth to speak to Era.

"I have missed you so much, and it is a delight to see you, but I must know, what has brought you this way and back into my arms? I would very much like to know what kind swift of concealed fate has again returned you to me." he said, the amazing awe and joy he felt being passed through his words, and then pressed his lips up to Era and kissed her with lingering passion.

Baldr, still unsure of the events that were transpiring, let the curiosity of the situation flow out of his mind and focused on the equine before him. He let the familiar but long unseen frame flow into his orbs and heard her speak their arcane tongue, and noticed that she was like he, quite anxious and self conscious; after all it had been considerable time since they had last met.

"As you have always said, my old friend, and indeed there is no need for you to be so nervous, I can tell what that smile conceals every time. So, how have the fates treated you since we departed last" he nickered in response amongst a chortle, realising that he probably ended up sounding to himself as ridiculous as she had though of her last words, and resigned to gently nuzzling his cran against hers.

Saregona - September 4, 2007 11:32 AM (GMT)
Twisting an ebon tendril of his hair 'tween her fingers, Era revels in the second blessing of affection given to her this morn', considering the enquiry. Reluctantly their lips part again, and she responds.

I know not of the thread that has been woven into the colourful taspestry of fate that has brought me back to you, all that I know, my dear, is that I am grateful! She jokes, sweet laughter dancing from her lips into the warm, wood scented air.

I came out here today only to admire the glory of nature basking in the morning light, to spend some time with Morgen. Who would of guessed that in a world so vast as ours, we would find eachother here? She continues jovially, her gaze then slinking momentarily to the carcass of the young deer Erus had felled.

Indeed, I never would have foreseen coming across you here as I partake in my explorations, catching you killing the nature I so enjoy observing. She finishes with a tone of mock scorn, looking playfully into his deep chocolate eyes with her sparkling sapphire ones.
She knew in her heart that she could never be properly angry with this man, even for slaughtering an innocent creature for game, for she knew better than anyone that there could be no life without death. So she easily forgave him this act because Erus was, after all, what made her whole. For as many traits as she had, good or bad, his traits equalled and opposed them - one might say that she was Ying, and he was Yang. Together they achieved harmonious balance.

The golden fae sighs calmly as she receives Baldrs nuzzle, closing her darkly gilded lids over her almond pools and instinctively stepping closer to him. She had forgotten how comfortable and at ease he made her feel, and her frame fills with a delighted warmth as she positions herself so that Baldrs lean nape drapes over hers, his throat just touching her silvery veil. Delicate harks flick to the sound of his breathing, and with a tiny movement of her crown her harks hear the pounding of his heart in his chest.

Content beyond belief, with her lids still closed, she exhales slowly through her nares, blowing softly on to Baldrs broad, dark chestnut front.

I missed you Baldr. The fates treated me to bouts of insightful thought, about how blessed I am to have a friend such as you. Is it not queer how I know not how lucky I am until I cannot be with he who makes my world bright? She says, in a heartfelt manner that was completely unlike her. She had never allowed herself this close to her oldest and dearest friend, for fear of what delicate and frightening emotions it may evoke in her. But now, after having gone so long without his presence, she could honestly not resist such a temptation.

The Sovereign - September 4, 2007 12:07 PM (GMT)
Erus sarcastically scoffed at the statement Era just made, knowing full well she held no malice towards his person and that she would not hold contempt for his actions, he composed himself to speak, but took one last puff of his pipe before extinguishing the glowing embers of leaf in it, breathing the smoke high into the air; he oft abandoned this luxury of his when Era was around, for she did not approve.

"Oh my dear, you are as delightful and curious as you ever were, and I am glad of it! Firstly, as I am sure you know, I never kill a beast of the wilds simply for the thrill of it, though the world is calm for now, the wars and storms are at bay for the time being, but I am in need of new garments for when the harsh elements crash across this land, and a stomach can not be kept empty for ever." he spoke, holding Era in close embrace and kissing her gently on her brow. He surveyed the horizons around and thought once more.

"So, if no celestial calamity is about to render the lands aflame, nor shall evil rise from the dark places and tear the lands apart in battle against their eternal nemesis, does this truly mean that for once I can enjoy the blessings of your company without interruption. That maybe our meeting this day is naught but good luck, and that we and our equine counterparts can have some long needed time together?" Erus asked, with a grin stretching across his ecstatic face.

The words his master just spoke awoke new excitement in Baldr, and the unfamiliar closeness and the warmth if fostered, as well as being again in the company of his oldest friend sparked the greatest of joys within the ageless horses heart. He began to take some steps away from their affection locked masters and beckoned Morgen forward.

"We should have space for ourselves like our caretaker should too, we all need to rejoice" Baldr says, eying Morgen with intent, his curiosity and feelings for her sparking to new highs.

As he slowly steps forward and awaits the following steps of his old friend, Baldr speaks to her again "You are as graceful with your speech, even in your anxiousness and embarrassment, as you ever were. The bards of men are no match for you. And truly; I know how you feel, but I discovered that many departures and reunions ago; there is no doubt that you are the flame that keeps my heart warm."

Saregona - September 9, 2007 12:58 PM (GMT)
All through Erus's first length of speech, Era does little but roll her eyes playfully and nod at his words. His reasons were, as always, completely sensible and valid, and she wouldn't have held it against him if they hadn't been. Still, she was grateful that the poor beast did not die for no reason. As she listens to her lover's next passage, the warmth of happiness fills her immortal flesh as she realises the chance they had to spend some easy time together - without the wellbeing of the world they guarded being the focus of their company.

"Well, yes! I suppose it does!" She shouts, probably a little louder than necessary. Still wrapped in her lovers' arms, she bounces upon the balls of her bare feet in excitement.

"Maybe we can talk about the... idea we touched upon before we were sepearated last..." She starts, with her tones slow as if she was planning every word. When her statement is met with an adorably confused gaze and one raised eyebrow, she sighs agitatedly and goes on.

"You know..." She continues nervously, her eyes flicking to look at her toes as she starts whistling an ancient childrens lullaby, hoping that he would understand what she was implying. Awaiting a response, Era is distracted momentarily by the noisy departure of Morgen, bounding after Baldr. She smiles, knowing that they would care for eachother, and returns her gentle gaze to Erus.

Morgen practically melts at Baldrs sweet words, and she bounds after him happily, subtly clicking her hind flints together in a playful little buck. She accompanies him at his side, close enough for their pelts to brush occasionally. As they amble silently into the forest that they know so well, like they knew every inch of the world that they had inhabited since time began to tick by, Morgen takes absent minded glances of admiration at Baldr - glances of admiration accompanying her thoughts of unconditional love. The canopy was becoming thicker with each stride, and Morgen knew that they were nearing the center of the woods. It is at this point that she must enquire.

"Where, dear friend, are you leading me?" She asks, her lyrics laced with pretend suspision.

The Sovereign - September 9, 2007 01:25 PM (GMT)
Baldr wandered on through the woods, past the tall trees, young they were when compared to them, and over small hills and shallow streams, paying little attention to the magnificent symphony of nature around him; his gaze and mind were fixed upon his eldest friend. As they followed a path that he remembered from years past he heard the sweet tones of her voice, a query and he answered.

"Not too far ahead, if it still stands - it has been years since I or you have seen it, is a grassy knoll, upon which stands a pointed grey stone; do you remember it? We came here many years ago and spent much time under the sun and moon here. It holds a special place with me, and I would like to revel in your company in that place once more" Baldr answered, his voice carried tones of happiness he had not had in some time.

Erus held his love close to him as she nervously reawoke a proposal they had considered some time ago, and hummed a sweet lullaby in case his mind was slow today before turning her glinting eyes back to his; which warmed his heart and soul.

"I know what you talk of, I could not forget that, so your rendition of children's lullabies is not needed to rouse my thought, but it does sound lovely" he said softly, holding Erus close to him; her head resting across his breast.

"And I would love nothing more, save your company eternal, but how is it to be done? Shall we roam together as three, or shall we abandon our task and retire together? Few days go by when this thought does no enter my mind, and I wish it so, but I can not see how!" came the words of Erus, before he turned his eyes and ears to await the response of his love, and hope for insight above his own.

Saregona - September 30, 2007 12:29 PM (GMT)
ERA:

She only needed to think for a wisp of a moment before a defensive response tumbles from her lips.

"Why would we need to give up our task? We are the first of our kind, guardians and protectors! If we were to retire then we would be the last of our kind - lest our child considers themself right to reappoint us!" She says scathingly, adding heavy sarcasm at the end of her statement. She huffs angrily, blowing back her fine hair that had been threatening to fall across her face. Era looks into her partners abashed face, and suspects that he hadn't thought his words would provoke such a response.

"Ohh, I'm sorry Erus..." She mutters apoligetically, giving him a soft squeeze within her loving embrace and letting a soft kiss linger on his chest while she thought rapidly for a solution to their predicament - as if she hadn't already given it massive amounts of careful consideration. It always, frustratingly, came back to the fact that they had this task to fulfill. Guard the world, keep the peace, ensure balance and all that other... she forces herself not to curse. Hope slipping through her fingers with every passing second in which a suitable solution was not found, she looks up at Erus pleadingly, with sad azure eyes that tell him plainly 'I've got nothing...'

MORGEN:

Morgens' mind fills with snippits of fond memories as Baldr speaks of that place; she remembers it well, and oft looks back on the memories born there when she is lonely and apart from Baldr.

"I remember it, of course, though I did not know you held those memories so close to your heart my friend." She whickers softly, her voice sweetened by the melting sensation she was feeling throughout her body. She admires him momentarily through pools half lidded, easily keeping her footing on the familiar terrain, before she forces herself to break gaze, telling herself not to observe him as if she... as if she was... she couldn't even let herself think it yet, despite the feeling of lightheaded bliss that was growing within her as she strode along beside him. The forest was beginning to thin out again, and light pierced the shadows of the canopy increasingly with every hoof fall. Slivers of golden light sliced through the boughs of their botanical surrounds, but the glowing colour of the setting sun, though so very beautiful, could do little but envy the hue of Morgens gilded pelt and cling to her jealously, highlighting her already stunning coat enchantingly as she takes the last strides out into the clearing. Dark, liquid chocolate eyes drift from the sight of a pointed grey stone before her, back to the shape of Baldr, eyeing him with a knowing gaze, knowing of the times they had shared here.

"Such ancient memories come to mind at the sight..." She says, her tone slightly breathless as if lost to some sweet daydream. She flicks her tiara airily to rid her visage of a wayward tendril of silvery mane, making her moon-kissed veil shimmer underneath the same thick golden light that created in her hue an celestial radiance, her surrounds seeming to act of their own will to reveal her beauty.

The Sovereign - September 30, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
Not long after his lips and tongue went idle Era burst into a defensive outcry, Erus quickly lamenting his poor choice of words and thinking it better to not interrupt Era he remained still and let her speak. After she had finished her rebutting words Erus wore a sheepish face and felt quite foolish for what he had said, which seemed to prompt a quick apology and a loving kiss while she pondered some more, before the features of her face revealed she was both answerless and melancholic.

Erus pulled his love as close to him as he could and let her head nestle snuggly upon his chest. He planted a gentle kiss upon her and ran his hands through her majestic hair, pondering for a long elusive answer. Frustration and disappointment soon overcame him and he voiced his thoughts.

"Yes, we are the first of our kind, and the only. Given a task for eternity with little respite, granted the emotions and desires of our mortal kin; but denied a chance to enact upon them! For what reason should we be denied an opportunity to live as we would, even for just a short while, for in our ancient lives we have toiled more than any creature upon this world can even comprehend! And why should we be the only of our kind?" Erus spoke, trying to keep himself from falling completely into what he feels and comforting his saddened love.

Baldr walked close to his companion, his orbs tracing her form and paying close attention to the features of her mask. They had reached the place which he led her too, but he was not interested in the dazzling greens of his surrounds, nor the golden sunshine that illuminated the ancient grove, but now his full attention turned to the magnificent being before him, and trying to control what he had felt inside himself for the longest time.

"We are here, this place brings back fond memories. But I must ask you something; Is something causing you trouble my dear Morgen? You seem bothered or worried by something, as if you are only half with me, what causes the distress in your mind? Or am I simply conjuring things in my joy of being with you once more?" Baldr sung out, unable to contain his curiosity and hoping to be able to speak wholly and completely with his old friend, now that there was no other distractions between them.

Saregona - October 20, 2007 11:39 AM (GMT)
MORGEN:

Seeming to come back to reality, her pools no longer clouded by her fond recollections, the delicate mare shook her head in answer to her friends question.

"Nay Baldr, nothing is worrying me at all! I was merely taken by the memories that this place sparked in me." She responds with a sincere smile to ensure Baldr that she spoke nothing but truth, and was not just saying so to hide grim feelings from him.

"I do fear that you may be correct in thinking you are conjuring things!" She laughs, though gently, so her friend would not mistake her high spirits for mockery towards his concern. Why was he so concerned anyway?

"Why do you ask dear friend?" She enquires lightly, her dazzling eyes focused on his familiar visage. Just as her words are spoken, she realises a potential reason - perhaps he was simply trying to weasel something completely unrelated out of her, perhaps he suspects her feelings?

'Well, he must, he is a very clever fellow after all...' She thinks in admiration with a hint of a smile on her muzzle, feeling somewhat awkward for perhaps blocking his intentions - even though she had no desire what-so-ever to discuss that which he was trying to encourage her to.

ERA:

Hearing her lover speak with such emotional ardour sparked in Era a glowing passion, and her dear man need not have offered his comfort to her, for though it was lovely, she was now without need of it. Right then and there, the moment his tongue had finished crafting his words, she knew what she wanted. She wanted a child. She wanted a family. And, more immediately, she wanted him.

"You're right. So very, amazingly right..." She says, incensed with desire that shone through her stormy blue eyes and her cheeky grin.

"All consequences be damned, we will not be the only of our kind. After all, we were put here to be the supreme beings, were we not? Doesn't that mean the the rules are ours to mould?" She suggests, her eyes now casually devouring the sweet sight of his body. To further press the hint, Era presses herself to him, her hands slinking slowly down his bare back, nails digging into his skin ever so slightly - relying on him to advance upon this delicious concept.

The Sovereign - October 20, 2007 01:21 PM (GMT)
ERUS:

Anxiously awaiting the reply of his love, Erus braces himself - be it good or bad. He held Era close to him and stroked her hair, letting her some space as she responded to his words, which were provoked by bottled up thought and feeling; aggravated by long time kept silent. He listened closely to the words he head..

As Era spoke her words, which was done in a progressively suggestive and seductive tone, he let a smile spread across his face. Not only was Era not upset of caught in conflict, but she was very happy, and Erus liked the path her thought was going down.

"It does indeed my dear, why should we hold off what we desire and deserve so much? Why should we not be able to enjoy the warm embrace of each other? I dare say we begin to bend the rules for ourselves now..." Erus spoke, letting the warm passion he felt inside him slip out into his words. As he felt the soft, gentle hands of Era run across his back he began to run his hands down Era's side whilst gently kissing her neck and ear; breathing slowly so she could hear. Running his hands over Era's body he moved them over to rest just above her bum and eyed her with a devilish gaze, prompting a response from her.

BALDR:

Baldr viewed the magnificent equine before him with much puzzlement as she stood before him, he let his orbs flow across her mask, looking for something that would betray her words and give him greater insight into her mind and heart alas there was nothing; though he felt as though Morgen knew exactly what he meant, and was being careful about her words. He knew she was careful and reserved, but kind and loving, and was determined to get her to express herself.

He cocked his cran to the head slightly and eyed Morgen and spoke quickly and anxiously"I've known for the longest time that you have been hiding something, thoughts, feelings, secrets - something from me dearest Morgen. I know you well, and you know me equally well, and you must know how I feel about you, for the centuries the things I have wanted to say, and do. So what of you dear one, do you have ancient feelings that I think I feel in you, or am I mistaken"

With those words Baldr stood with a nervous chill and shiver shaking his frame, hoping his words caused no conflict or embarrassment between him and his oldest friend, and stood as still as a mountain, awaiting a response.

Saregona - October 23, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
ERA:

Returning his gaze with equal wickedness, knowing exactly what was going to happen, Era laughs her silvery laugh as she teasingly tugs at the knot of her partners pelt garment. She looks around for Morgen, ready to leave this place for one more private - though not knowing exactly where they'd go to do such naughty things, as they had always been beings of the wild and did not have a permenent home... Oh, damned be this problem! They didn't have anywhere to even raise a child! Feeling the passion in her body drain like rain from the clouds in a storm, Era sighs a frustrated sigh and stops her tugging and teasing.

"Erus, where are we going to go after here?" She asks, trying to keep the bothered tone from her voice, hoping that Erus would quickly reaslise what she had.

"Where are we going to raise a child? We don't even know how long it will be before it comes - how long it will grow inside my body... there's nothing to compare us to... no others like us..." She continues, fighting back frustration and disappointment. She knew that mortal humans had their young inside them for three seasons, three fourths of a year if you will, but she wasn't a mortal human - her extraordinary body may be able to complete such a task in one or two seasons... she just didn't know. Wrought with confusion, she shakes her head. Maybe they could leave now and begin building a shelter? No, not a shelter... a home.

'Hehe, it will be nice to have the company of my Erus for a long time, unbroken and constant...' She thinks, constructing a house in her minds eye and filling it with comfortable furnishings, crafted from wood, stone, pelts, bone and metals, placing herself and Erus within, and finally a bundle of animal skins wrapping their precious child in she holds it in her arms. Assuming that they would be moving soon regardless, the thoughful woman raises her fingers into her mouth and lets out a piercing whistle, in a short tune, calling her mount to her as she wonders now in which of the tribal lands their home would lie, or if they would have one out in the wilderness somewhere - perhaps the Olde Woods, it had a mystical enchantment to it that she adored, and the secluded environment, with its secrets and paths that only Erus and herself knew, made it more than safe enough to raise a child. Still, she kept her ideas to herself until Erus responded, though she dreaded having another upsetting conversation with her love.

MORGEN:

The femme is shocked by his revelation, and she is only able to stand as still as he, her harks twitching nervously. Though she was nervous however, she was also relieved, but the confronting way Baldr had stated what he just had had the gentle mare taken aback. Fighting her woldlessness, wanting to tell him that he was right, that she felt a love deeper than friendship for him, that his ancient feelings for her are reciprocated entirely. As she knows exactly what she wants to say, ready for a long and awkward section of speech, an urgent whistle shoots into her harks, and the sheer awful timing of her beloved mistress makes her cringe. So quickly she changed the words resting in her mouth to ones more morose.

"I'm sorry Baldr, my mistress calls..." She sighs dutifully, turning reluctantly and jogging swifly back towards the forest line, and soon, with a whip of her silver-white banner, she is out of sight. Baldr would understand - when master calls, you come, no matter what. She follows the path she had just come by, slowly, making significant ground, but hoping to give Baldr more than enough time to catch up with her when his master sends his inevitable call. It was lonely and dark underneath these magnificent boughs, and though her mistress was first prority, she longed for her best friend to be beside her again, though she had but left him only minutes ago.

The Sovereign - October 23, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
ERUS:

Erus was becoming very excited indeed at the prospect of finally being able to have she who he loved to himself for a greater time than ever before, and finally be able to do what they have wanted for the longest time. He felt twinges of impatience and bliss pulse through his body until he noticed an aura of disappointment fall onto Era, and heard her speak her words - and she was right, they had no home, nowhere to raise a child and were even completely unaware of that aspect about them.

Seeing (and hearing) Era call out to her mount, Erus did the same; he put his hands to his mouth and called a summoning to Baldr. He then took Era's hand and held it lovingly.

"Aye, we are haunted with problems, gifted with immortality and powers bestowed upon none other, we can not get even succeed in achieving the basic instincts of the other beings that walk this Earth! We must raise a youngling somewhere safe, by ourselves, a home we must fashion. We know of many places that are secret, safe and mystical; none would find them and cause strife. Beyond into the woods, or the mountains, or to the seas we can find many a' place where we would be able to raise a child. And for how long it will grow inside you, we cannot be sure either way, but I will help you every step of the way - of that I am sure you are aware" Erus spoke, letting a glowing optimism shine through his speech, and then gently kissed Era upon her brow.

BALDR:

Baldr stood silently and watched as his oldest friend, to whom he confessed his heart, took flight at the sound of her summoning call. He felt great sorrow overtake his heart as she moved speedily away, not even a word or hint to show what she meant in response.

And so Baldr slowly moved forward, even before he heard his masters call (of which he knew would soon come anyway), but made no haste to catch up to Morgen, for it was of great upset to him to have held her so lovingly in his heart for so long and had naught in return; and now in which he told her she fled at the quickest opportunity. Morgen made no attempt to stall her movement for Baldr's call, and said nothing, and so he moved forth in solitude and sadness.

Saregona - June 4, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
MORGEN:

But when he did not catch her, the gilded belle worried, and she came to a halt beneath the ancient canopy, where she waited. Why had he not caught up with her? Then her wise mind reached the answer - he had spilled his heart to her, and she had seemingly turned and ran. How could she be so foolish? So inconsiderate to the one that she... that she...

Loves?

And when she repeated that powerful four letter word in her mind, her heart cried out in joy, and she knew it was true. It had to be true. She loves him.

"Where are you Baldr?" She cries, pivoting on her solid hindquarters and racing back from where she had just came. Her sharp pools roved for his frame, but she found she could call no more for the presence of a smile of miraculous purity upon her soft milky kissers. When she rounds a bend, so forcefully that her pale flints slide upon the forest floor, and her azure gaze finds his familiar blood-washed hue, the doe spares no time in two beating gracefully towards him, her elegant gait bringing her to him in mere moments.

Now it came down to it, she was nervous as hell, but she knew what she wanted to do.

Without a single explanatory word, her slender limbs brake upon the earth and she halts abruptly before him, and in one smooth motion of her serpentine she reaches out for his cheek with her velveteen, where, in a moment that passed like an era between them, she gives him a single, gentle lick.

ERA:

A smile crept across her rosy lips as his words filled her with hope anew.

"Well, what are we standing around here for?" She says enthusiastically, looking over Erus's shoulder for he arrival of their steeds - but they had not yet come. Era could not even hear yet the steady rhythm of their gaits.

"What could be keeping those pair..." She wonders, though without worry for she knew that nothing of this earth could harm the immortal pair. She knew that, whatever had stalled them, they would break through into their clearing in an apologetic hurry soon enough.

BALDR:

A moment of shock, amazement and joy flooded through the body, mind and heart of the ageless equine causing his legs to buckle under him slightly causing embarrassment for himself. Breathing a deep sigh of relief and feeling a great languish lifted from his heart he slowly maneuvered his frame to match that of his beauteous mate, running the side of his mask lovingly across her body and wrapping it gently across Morgen's so that their heads were linked and close.

Into her ear he gently whispered, his voice quivering "I have waited an age of this Earth to even work up the nerve to mention the yearnings of my heart for you, and even longer still have I desired you. For this day, when we can finally be locked together in an embrace of more than mere friendship is akin the the most grandiose of dreams."

He then edged around her slowly and faced her and gave her a gentle lick upon her nose and spoke to her again. "Alas it is our lot to have such moments interrupted though! We must away to our masters, but we need not hurry so much, let us go together and we have much to discuss!" He then beckoned his head in a manner that suggested follow me and turned back towards the path they came, his eyes lingering upon her frame for as long as they could.

ERUS:

"I imagine we are waiting for those two to get back here, wherever they went" Erus spoke with a joking tone, while wrapping his muscular arms around his love; pulling her close to him. He caressed her delicate and gorgeous body and hair for a short time before pondering on where their steeds might be.

Musing on their actions and whereabouts he spoke "Perhaps they are having revelations and talks to rival our own, surely you have noticed over these years what has grown between those two? The winds of change truly have swept across here today it would seem, what other reason would they have to delay so?" He then pulled his love back close to him and listened intently for the beating of hooves amongst the trees, but still heard little, which brought a different sort of smile across his face.

Era
The Mistress

"Haha, ofcourse..." She laughs in reply to his words, how could she have forgotten that? Their feelings were so obvious to all but themselves. With a cheeky grin on her rosey lips the woman views her mates handsome facade for a moment before speaking to him again.

"Maybe with grace of timing and a bit of luck, our child could grow up with the company of a foal, and eventually have a mount of their own?" She thinks out aloud, her curious mind musing upon what the babe of their steeds might look like. Would it be filly or colt? Creamy like its mother or mahogany like its father? It was strange that she would ponder so innocently on this when she had not the nerve to think about it for their own human child. It wasn't that she wasn't curious, she just wanted to look at her baby for the first time with fresh eyes; with an open mind that hadn't conjoured its own ideas prior. Now that it was settled, her and her beloved were finally going to have a child, she wondered where they would set up house for it? Era and Erus were more than content to roam the wilderness, but the dangers of the wild was no place for a growing young life.

"Well, now that we're certain we want to do this, have a child of our own, we must choose a land to call our home?" She says lightly to Erus, her tone implying without a trace of doubt that she wanted him to make the first suggestions. He would be the one mostly responsible for constructing their home and defending it after all, and so he should have his say in its location. While she waits for him to respond to her statement, she rests her cheek on his chest, enjoying hearing the eternal beating of his immortal heart.

Morgen
Mount of the Mistress, untouched by time

She cannot help but loose an excited little whinny when her oldest love holds her in his strong embrace. She had waited so long, with her unearthly patience, to be held lovingly by him like she was in this moment. She tries not to be too abashed when he releases her though, knowing to well that, as he said, their masters had beckoned and they should come. Baldr starts to walk off and Morgen automatically follows him, two beating momentarily to catch up. For some time they walked side by side, and Morgen's pelt tingled everytime it was brushed by his. In her bubbling happiness her slender limbs begin to prance beneath her, seemingly without her permissions.

"Baldr, do you think your Master, and my Mistress, noticed, well, us?" She asks the tall equine by her side, her voice soft and inquisitive. They were not far from the clearing that held their humans, and even at a walk they would be upon them soon, so Morgen wanted to take the chance to converse with her Baldr as much as she could - while they could. In the pause that followed her question, she arches her boa to nuzzle the sleek nape of her newly confessed love,

Baldr:

As Baldr ran along side his ancient love the fierce winds and his tremendous pace only helped to raise the ecstatic heart that beat with previously unknown ferocity. He had long dreamed of the day when he and Morgen would one day come together but never believed it would arrive. They raced through the forest for a short while before Morgen slowed down, Baldr following suit to be as close to her as possible. As they walked beside each other Baldr maneuvered his head around Morgen's neck and affectionately nipped at her ears.

Whispering, almost seeming afraid that by letting any other creature of the woods hear his words they would be spoiled, into Morgen's ear he answered her query. "I have never actually pondered on it to be honest, but I can not imagine that what we both felt went unnoticed to those who know us best. And I am also quite sure that they have a good idea of why we delay so long."

Baldr walked close to his love, affectionately rubbing his coat against his, exhaling in joy against his will. The two, after a lengthy journey, arrive at the edge of the woods, Baldr's orbs catching quick glance of his master in the arms of his love's mistress and laughingly speaks "I believe we are not the only ones in a moment of revelation and change!"

Erus:

Erus, musing on the question put forth, softly kisses Era upon her cheek and looks deep into her beauteous eyes and speaks "Our child must be safe, but we can not let him, or her, be unaware and afraid of the world that they shall enter. Therefore I suggest we build our home by the foot of the mountains, of which mountains we should live by I do not know, but mountains will provide us with the greatest variety of environment in which to teach our young one, and the beauty of nature is greatly present."

He mused further on the issue when he heard a rustle in the woods, and he and Era turned to observe their steeds emerge from the tall grass and shrubery at the forest border. They soon emerged, walking leasurely side by side in a fashion that greatly suggested what they were thinking just a few monents ago. Erus turned to Era and smiled greatly, for it seemed the day could not get any better, and spoke to her "Looks like we are not the only ones to find love and luck this day, if I may be so bold to guess, would you not agree?"
