Mumbai, March 6: Kareena Kapoor is not doing Zoya Akhtar ’s directorial debut Kismat Talkies because of Hrithik Roshan .

Reports are that Hrithik had been having second thoughts about doing the project and now has officially opted out of the film.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, co-star Kareena too has given the project a miss.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani (who runs Excel Entertainment along with partner and Zoya’s brother Farhan Akhtar ) had earlier said that they would start filming in May 2007 as Kareena had given dates from then on, but then Hrithik started demanding changes in the script making Zoya go hunting for a new hero.

It is learnt that she spoke to Akshay Kumar , but he too gave her the cold shoulder.

Apparently Kareena had allotted the same dates to Imtiaz Ali’s next film. A source says, “Once Hrithik opted out, Kareena decided not to do the film either.

When contacted, Imtiaz excused himself from telling when he is starting his film with Kareena. “I am sitting with some people. Let’s talk later,” he said.

The source adds, “Things haven’t been easy for Zoya from the time she planned the film. She was supposed to make her debut with a film titled ‘Luck — By Chance’ in 2004. Unfortunately, the film never took off.

But her tone clearly suggested that she was in no mood to defend the actors who have given her so much anxiety. them

Hrithik Roshan as Krrish, the superhero received a lot of adulation and praise and as if one hunk was not enough, now according to sources there is a strong likelihood that Hrithik will play a double role in the third series. Hrithik may be all set to don the role of both a superhero as well as the bad guy in the third series of Krrish. Hrithik is excited to play the negative guy after he received a lot of praise for his negative role in Dhoom 2. So it just might be Hrithik Roshan the superhero versus Hrithik Roshan the evil guy. So who will win, remains to be seen?

However Hrithik’s dad Rakesh Roshan who is also the director has not confirmed the concept of the third series yet. Roshan is also supposedly planning the SFX for the third series. Hrithik though is currently busy with the shooting of his forthcoming film Jodha Akbar with co-star Aishwarya. However it seems like Hrithik is playing a superhero in real life too. Hrithik was recently shooting for an ad film but unfortunately the actor sprained his foot and was in a lot of pain. However he decided to continue shooting despite his injury. In fact Hrithik flew down to the venue in a chopper for the shoot and stayed over in a five star hotel and paid for all this with his own money. This itself shows the actor’s commitment and dedication to completing his projects on hand.

Hrithik however says “Yes I did injure myself while shooting, but since I had made a commitment, I didn’t think it would be right to abruptly stall the shoot. I felt that I could overcome the pain rather than delay the entire project.” The marketing manager too for the ad campaign confirmed that Hrithik was more than co-operative and despite hurting himself, he just took some painkillers and continued with the shoot. In fact the marketing manager stated “I genuinely appreciate his commitment to his job and his intention to finish according to schedule.” Now all the actors who delay or cancel shoots due to minor problems should take a leaf out of Hrithik’s rule book. Way to go Hrithik!

Is Hrithik Roshan's 36 crore deal off

It was touted as the turning point for Bollywood, the deal that would change the way the industry worked, ring in the studio system a la Hollywood, corporatise Bollywood in right earnest. But now it seems that it was mere 'media speculation', as Manmohan Shetty, chairman and managing director, Adlabs puts it, with no real signing on the dotted lines. We're talking of the Rs 36 crore deal that Hrithik Roshan was supposed to sign with the said production house for bulk dates and films. The same happened to Akshay Kumar, with the sources informing us that the deal got cancelled because the pivot in this case was director Vipul Shah, who ultimately refused to sign the deal.

Rumours all...
According to an industry source, "Things would have gone fine if the Roshans had not sang about a 'contract' to everyone. Once the news got splashed in all the papers, Adlabs decided to do a rethink. Presently, no such deal exists." Shetty, though, is more guarded about the whole thing. "It's something to do with my policy. I never talk about such things beforehand. The fact is that it is only a proposal. Once it's all put down on stamped papers and signed, we will announce it."

Is he planning to replace Hrithik with Abhishek Bachchan as the rumours say? "As of now, I don't want to comment on this. Let something significant happen, and I shall let everyone know," maintains Shetty. And what about Akshay Kumar's deal? It was rumoured that Akshay was miffed that Adlabs was paying Hrithik Rs 36 crore for three films, whereas he was getting only Rs 20 crore for four. "That deal, in reality, had nothing to do with Akshay. It was supposed to be a tripartite deal signed by director Vipul Shah, and he backed out. So there ends the story," says Shetty.

Vipul, on his part, clarifies, "Akshay was to star in all four films, but this would have been an impossible task to achieve. I can't produce four films in one year and ask an actor to reschedule all his prior commitments for me."

Is it ta-ta studio system, then?
"No," argues Vipul. "The intentions are strong, there are other deals that have been signed recently. So, we have begun the process, and when these teething problems are overcome, big money games will be played in Bollywood too."

Adds Rakeysh Mehra, who has just been signed by UTV for a Rs 280 crore, four films deal, "Our movies are going the Western way too. Indian cinema now seeks expertise in all aspects of filmmaking – be it the script, production, stunts, special effects – they all need to have the sensibilities that appeal to a global audience. We have moved beyond the one man show period."

Hrithik not in his Papa's Next Film
13 April 2007 (Sawf News) - Hrithik Roshan, currently filming Jodha Akbar, has his hands full for the near future working on big banner movies.

Rather than put his own creativity on hold Rakesh Roshan has decided to do without his son for his next venture Krazzy 4 – a rip roaring comedy.

The film features Arshad Warsi in a prominent role and concerns four whacky characters played by Arshad, Irfaan Khan, Suresh Menon and Rajpal Yadav.

Juhi Chawla, Dia Mirza and Rajat Kapoor also play important roles in the film, which will be ready by the end of 2007.

Rakesh Roshan, himself a heartthrob of the 70's, understands what it is like to be in demand like Hrithik is today.

Once Hrithik finishes his current assignments, "Then I will start my film with Hrithik," Roshan says.

As to why he is making a comedy he says, "After all I have made good comedy films in the past."

Infact, comedy has been an important ingredient if his past two films both huge box office success – Koyi Mil Gaya and Krrish.
