| To all members of CoS Forums, As some of you know and as some are about to know, Emerson of MuggleNet and Melissa of TLC will be interviewing JK Rowling at her house on the day of the release of Half-Blood Prince. This is seen as a reward for many long years of dedication given by the two sites and also as a way of thanking her millions of fans. Now this is where CoS Forums comes in. MuggleNet and CoS are holding a competition for all members to submit a question they would like Emerson to ask JK Rowling when he interviews her. However, not all your questions can be asked. There can only be a few lucky people, I'm afraid, but everyone (except the judges) is welcome to take part. The format for this is as follows: Competition Duration: The competition starts June 6th and ends on June 19th at 12:01am, GMT. Judges deliberate until June 30th, when the top 10 are selected to go to MuggleNet. The poll on MuggleNet closes on July 10th when the three winners are annouced. Judging: The Judges will be a selection of Admins and Professors. They will be impartial and fair. Once the competition is over, all questions submitted will be taken and listed in the Judges Thread in the Atrium. Those staff members who have volunteered to judge the competition will not be participating in it. If other staff members submit questions, they will be on equal footing with the other members. Rules and Structure: As Emerson and Melissa will be interviewing Jo Rowling on the day of the book release (and will in all likelihood be done with, or close to being done with, the volume), do NOT submit questions that are likely to be answered in book six. We're looking for good, insightful, well-thought questions about the series and Jo in general. Questions that are unique and to which the answers are likely to be thorough are most likely to grab our attention. -- The question MUST have been posted in the thread on CoS Forums. No alternative submission format will be accepted, e.g. e-mail/private messages etc. -- Questions posted before 12:01 a.m. June 19, GMT, will be considered for this contest. From June 18 to June 30, we will (with the help of our respective staffs) deliberate on the top 10. On July 1, the poll will be posted on MuggleNet (and a seperate one for TLC) and the questions chosen (giving Jo Rowling plenty of opportunity to see them and devise a cunning non-answer). Just kidding... we hope. -- Look at previous Jo Rowling interviews to remind yourself what has and hasn't been asked, and which questions got the best answers. Here is a good source. -- The winners may choose to have their real or usernames revealed to Jo (and hence the rest of the world) when the questions are asked. If you are under 18 and wish to do this, please get permission from your parent or guardian. -- Each person may submit a maximum of TWO questions. Choose yours carefully! -- Attempts to influence forum staff into choosing your question will result in your disqualification. Finally, go here to post your question. Remember, only questions in this thread will be considered. Good luck! |
