Hey Kellyn, I think it is going to be quite a nerve-wreaking situation! smile27 Wah, imagine all the pressure, the contestant will be under to recall the song lyrics from a variety of genres! And the contestant wouldn’t know what song he/she will have to sing so they can’t prepare in advance to memorise all the lyrics for those songs!

It's true some have disappear completely from the forum and events; others have move on to support other artiste. Yup,we have not seen many around for a long time. But am sure Jon's true supporters will continue to give their support when his album is launched!

No worries, April and group are still very supportive. Of course, we always look forward to seeing all old and new supporters!

Wah, looks like it's gonna be really tough for the contestant after seeing what Carol has described. Ever watched a small part of one of the episodes (the US version) aired on ch 5 weeks ago. If it is the same format, then it will be a big challenge for Jon. One really needs to listen/know a lot of songs from different genres in order to do well. Jia you, Jon! And I hope that you will get easy songs which you are most familiar with on that day and win big money for this charity cause!

Nandar, now that you mentioned abt the fans who went MIA... I do remember some of them. I personally find it really sad that some of the fans eventually move on to other things once the Idol experience comes to an end. I mean, look what happened to the other fanclubs for the other S'pore Idol finalists (Jasmine, Paul, Joakim, etc). But that's just life, I guess... :sad:

The only Jonatics in the MIA list I am still in close contact with are Karen and Louisa. Karen is now chairperson of the NATural fanclub (set up for rising MediaCorp artiste and, coincidentally, S'pore Idol season 1 alumnus, Nathaniel Ho). As for Louisa, she's kinda busy with her own thing I think... I only know she attends Jon's events at a rather sporadical rate... much like myself.

I am not afraid to admit that I myself sometimes find my 'faith' in supporting Jon wavering a little, mostly due to a serious lack of events and news updates. Not to forget attending various events to root for other artistes (which some of you may be aware of). But no matter what happens, I always make it a point to keep my faith going and try to attend some of Jon's events whenver I can, even if I may be the only active male fan here.

Ok, back to main topic... I seriously cant wait for the results for the ticket balloting to be out...! I've even taken half-day leave next Monday to play safe ;)

I watched nearly all the episodes for "Don't Forget The Lyrics"... yes, the gameplay is very tough indeed. Regardless of which song genre you choose first, the first 2 songs will have abt 3 or 4 missing words. Then from the 4th song onwards, it gets tougher from here... the number of missing words will gradually increase, with the max number usually being 12 missing words. To spice things up, most of the songs are from the 60s to 80s era, songs which you may have heard before on Gold 90 FM or Class 95. Of course you have to use your gut instincts to ensure that the lyrics are correct before you lock them in... cos even one wrong word out of 12 missing words can cost you a certain amount of money. The 3 helplines are there to help of course in the case that you are totally stumped. OR you can choose to quit the game halfway and walk away with the money, provided you have cleared the first safe zone (and used up all 3 backups). But most importantly, you have to remember a lot of songs... to be a regular at English KTV lounges will most certainly help.

Sigh, I dont even know if my ticket had been confirmed or not. The email was sent at 4 pm on Sat, and I was out for nearly the whole day. And I next used the com on Sunday evening, way after the deadline! But I still sent the SMS anyway... :( :(

I got a feeling that Jon may not be the only Singapore Idol involved in the charity episode... matter of fact, I heard from a friend that Taufik may also be involved (cos my friend happens to be part of the Fiknatic committee). Speculation only. I also wanna sit at the main auditorium, so I can wave to Gurmit and Jon.

Oh erm, I actually had a very strange dream last night that I met Jon at some concert, and he gave me and another person a ride to our respective mrt stations!! :blink:

I had a very enjoyable moments with all of you tonight...well I think this is the best bday ever....all of you who were with me, should know the answers hahaha....

Hey guys. Tell me all about it. Was he the only Singapore Idol celebrity on the show? How much did he raise?

And of course, when will the recording be broadcast on Channel 5? :o

Oh ya, I forgot to wish you Happy Birthday last night, Eveline... but I already acknowledged it in my blog, heh.

I wasnt too surprised that Jon knew abt ytd being your birthday... I got a feeling Kaileng's gonna hide her face when she reports to work on 28th Nov, cos most of the people would haf watched that episode on Nov 27th! And then you'll be saying, "Lucky I never kena" when u watch the show :P

Oh, and the band performance was fabulous! mucisband I kinda like the female backup singer, she looks cute :)

Although the recording was a rather long one (taking abt 3 hrs), it sure was a blast. Indeed it was a Singapore Idol reunion among Gurmit, Jonathan and the other 2 popstars. ;)

It's a Popstar special. The money is a combined effort for 5 charity organizations from Jon and 2 other Singapore Idols (hint: their initials are TB and HM). All I can say is that the 3 of them managed to clear the $10,000 safe zone... and the recording is coming in 3 weeks from now (obvious hint) ;)

Oh my goodness, it was such a exhilarating Popstar special of fun and excitment, really enjoyed myself and wishing for an encore this moment! Honestly, nothing beats this show and definitely the "BEST" with Jon to date!

We got to see Jon for the longest time ever, that was like watching his show special! He was really cheerful, very comfortable and playful throughout the recording. Taufik was quite witty, he came up with some "wise" jokes and funny actions on the side, together with Hady, all three of them had so much fun poking at each other and infecting their fun & happy moods to the audience. Their bantering added interests to the show and we wished for more NG takes ... cos that means we get to stay longer each time, haha! Nice to see that they had great rapport. Also, Gurmit was his usual comical self who did a good job to gel the whole show together!

As there was another recording going on, we actually got in the studio only after more than one hour delay. But then what can I say, it has been absolutely worthwhile rushing to Mediacorp on a Monday evening, the long wait and staying till almost midnight! We got the front row seats at the smaller studio which was really great, can you imagine we were just two steps away from the small stage and Jon was like right infront of our face all the time! Yes, we melted countless times during the show! Those who did not make it have really missed out so so much, just can't describe enough of the regrets! (errh Nandar, are you hopping mad up & down there ...??) :lol:

Having such a great time somehow felt like SI days again, and how we miss all the singing week after week! Going through the anxiety of the game with the singer was kinda exciting and holding out our breath each time when the right lyrics were flashed! The participation from the lively cosmopolitan audience really lifted the show. Actually was hoping that the three dudes could keep on trying for a higher amount each time so that we can stay all night till the last level was reached (really would not mind!). ;)

Sporting a slightly layered new hair style, Jon looked really gorgeous! He was friendly and thoughtful as always and not forgetting to personally thanked us for staying up so late to support him, isn't he so sweet. He told us he really did not know some of the lyrics and it was quite tough to remember it this way but he had good fun, and that it was great to do it for charity.

Jon is really very deserving of our support, and all the more in this non-happening times, let's bond together to show our continuous support! Its through constant participation that we can keep our passion alive! We really look forward to everyone joining us.

Thanks to you all for being such a great fun bunch and being there for Jon!

Totally agree with Kellyn! 3 hours of Jon singing, humming, rolling his eyes, squeezing his eyebrows, battling his eyelids, stamping his feet and biting his thumb (Kellyn, your new found fav action by Jon, right?? :lol: ) when trying to recall the lyrics only barely 2 steps away from us, oh mine oh mine! my heart skipped so many beats, almost fainted :P
Indeed, the show has been most enjoyable! I am quite sure the edited 1 hour version on tv will not be half as fun as watching the entire recording live in the tiny studio, cos it is all the NG takes that are nice, its during such NG takes that Jon and the other 2 sg idols are their most natural selves, playful, boyish, poking good fun at each other, such a pleasure to watch!
Of course, I should not forget to mention that they are fantastic singers too!
Because of the tuning and re-takes, we could get to listen to many songs done repeatedly, what a bonus!
And Gurmit is really a good and witty host, built great rapport with the audience.
Minus the long wait before the show finally got started, every moment spent at Media Corp was enjoyable and memorable.
For all who have attended, we have fantastic memories to keep!
For those who didnt, feeling of remorse will probably start creeping in when you watch the program on tv...sorry!

Really wish that there will be more of such events where Jon can take part in, then we can see more of him!
