Hey Jon,

Good to *finally* hear from you. I just wanted to say that the precious poster and photo you autographed for me is still at my work desk. My students joke that it is the Jon shrine :rolleyes:

I have been listening to Christmas carols on repeat mode because my colleague who sits in front of me has been putting it on loop <_< Not that I mind it but I just wished she'd like, mix around a bit more. Btw, speaking of Christmas carols, I actually like "Do they know it's Christmas?". Not exactly a Christmas carol but that song never fail to make me feel all inspired.

Thanks for that little song/lyrics at the end of your letter. I have always believed that Christmas is a time for giving and the feeling is 1000x better than receiving. I am not rich but I do try to do my teeny little bitsy part especially during this festive period.

You know the Boys Brigade and the Fulfil A Wish thingy? A friend and I just fulfilled a little 4 year old girl's wish of a cooking set. She didn't want anything fancy. She just wanted a cooking set. How heartbreaking is that?! I hope our little gesture will make her smile this Xmas.

Jon, as always … your warmth and sincerity comes thru’ in the letter and I am so glad that you shared so much with us.

You really inspire me to be a better person. I learn a lot from reading your interviews and letter, your words are always so meaningful to me. also appreciate the poem u attached at the end - yes, sometimes things do not seem as they appear to be. will do an act of random kindness whenever i can.

Dear Jon,

Firstly, thanks so much for your super sweet letter, it really warmed everyone's hearts and made us feel extremely elated!

Next, try not to take things so seriously all the time, okay? Relax, cos' not everything's about meeting expectations and living up to what other people think of you. No matter what you do, remember that you have thousands of adoring fans behind you, in addition to your family and friends.

Thirdly, just wanted to tell you that you look really good in Style magazine, it's a cool new look and your photos gave me the shock of my life when I first saw it.

Last but not least, just wanted to tell you that my AMath teacher looks like the female version of you. We always tease her about it, and she keeps insisting that she looks like Jay Chou instead. Haha! Seriously, the both of you could be related or something but I highly doubt so. Oh well! (To date, my class has not succeeded in persuading her to sing something for us. :D)

Just want to tell you I love everything about you! I really appreciates all your performances..both singing & hosting, because you do it with so much passion & sincerity deep from your heart..I can see it, I can feel it! Jon..you have inspire me so much that even I am in my middle age, I just put away my shyness to join all the other fans to queue at 7/11 as well as screaming at studio recording. I can tell you that never in my life , I will queue at a shopping centre even if there are freebies..but I just can't believe myself! Well, the reason is simple.. I did it because I really think you are very 'special' & you deserves all your fan's support. Anyway, it was nice meeting you so close-up although in all my excitement, I even forgot to give you a hand-shake..haha

When I heard the news that a 2nd letter was posted .. I felt like a little girl .. excited and elated..
I am glad that this 2 weeks has been meaningful for you. Life is about winning and learning .. (not as some say winning or losing). In every situation we can grow, and make to choices to be bitter or better.

Dear Jon,

Thanks for yr 2nd letter. Totally agree with yr views on taking some time off, especially when we’re been too busy with our routine. One place to go is to the church when there’s no services - really peaceful & great for reflections & what’s more, spiritual guidance close at hand. And likewise, I’ve always thought the other best place to go was the park or the beach but it’s just too risky for girls to be alone at the park or beach, right? esp if it’s during the less-crowded time. Hmm….maybe you can recommend the park or the beach that you’re been going to, huh??!!…just kidding…..better not tell us otherwise, you’ll never be able to frequent those places again. We would like you to have yr privacy for yr relaxation & reflections.

Jon, truly thank you for working so hard & always keeping yrself grounded. Take great care of yrself, yr family & keep HIM always & foremost in your thoughts.

going for a run, walking in the park, going to the beach - hmmm, as angelwee said, better not let us know where these places are, though our initial reaction was where, which park, which beach? we want to know everything abt u, but u do need yr own places to relax and reflect. better for a lucky few to get a jonathan sighting, and to experience a heart-stopping, jaw-dropping, ... breathless moment!
(i do envy yr coursemates/lecturers/nus students who will get to see u every day when term starts next yr!!!)

and as u say, there's a plus and a minus side to things - "Que sera, sera" / "C'est la vie".
