Title: NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS
Description: Are they difficult to keep?
Eclipse - December 17, 2006 05:13 AM (GMT)
Just 2 more weeks and we say goodbye to 2006 and hello to 2007. What would you like 2007 to be? Time to think about New Year Resolutions. I usually have a very long list. Too ambitious, I guess. I always end up not keeping most of them. This time, I am going to have only 3, or maybe 5.

haha. for the time being, mine would be to stay jonathan-crazy and FINISH MY STUPID HOLIDAY HOMEWORK. oh, and to stop thinking so much about ryannn!
for next year.. i havent really thought about it yet, probably to stop harbouring evil thoughts about my home econs and art teacher and science and maths and history and geography teachers, though.

I was just talking to my husband this morning about what we had achieved and learnt in 2006...we need to start thinking about New Year Resolution for 2007 :-)
I dont usually have a long list (not more than 3 would be just nice for me) or I may lost focus and meet none of the goals I want to achieve. My New Year Resolution for 2007 are:
1) Be more patient with my children.
2) Spend more quality time with my children (I have to try stop working after 6pm and continue working if I really must after my children go to bed).
3) Spend less on wants so I can Save more (This is the biggest evil for me...).
For me, New Year Resolution is all about reflection and self assessment on the closing year....
I wish all Jonatics a Merry Christmas and Blessed Year ahead. I hope there will be less trouble in the World...Peace and Love forever.
With Love....

My New Year Resolutions
1. Not to watch any more TV reality shows – not even the finals, or whatever, no matter. There is nothing wrong with these programs, but something wrong with me. Too tired to struggle with Rational and Irrational all the time.
2. Not to consider any new job opportunity – no matter how seductive, tempting or charming. Again, see last part of point (1) above. Always remember the simple solution given by someone simple, “Your life or The money”. Barometer of “good” life measured against how much less you are paid.
3. Be a willing, cheerful volunteer.
4. Pen down more thoughts – start on “Mummy’s Toolbox” – a gift to be bequeathed in my will.
5. Try to discover hidden talents within myself – start doing things which I always have interests in, but been finding excuses to avoid. I may turn out to be talented in cleaning toilets – a process of self re-training. (Warning: Refer 16 Dec Saturday ST article.)
I was going to limit to 3, but it turned out to be so many. Some are even strangely familiar... :(

Hi Barney, we must love ourselves too. An ex-boss once told me - you only live once.

Just wondering, are resolutions meant to be kept or meant to be broken?
If its meant to be broken and its for fun, then its kinda useless to make so many resolutions unless u really mean it.

I am sure resolutions are made not to be broken. It is a course of action determined or decided on. A firm determination to do it, so I don't think it is for fun.
I do admire people who set it, it shows that they know they are not perfect and not afraid to make mistakes in life. It is more of your personal self-worth, goals that you set for yourself and wanting to improve. It will be good to have SMART goals.
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Achievable
R - Realistic
T - Time bound
So if you have decided upon your New Year's resolutions, do your best to achieve it. Even if they were to break it, that doesn't mean we should judge anyone, agree? Because we are all answerable to God, at the end of the day. So all the best for those who have made their New Year's resolutions. Keep it up! ;)

i'll just like to happy always :D
and to all of you out there...
stay happy too!
Eclipse - December 25, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
Happiness is a state of mind. To me, happiness happens from within myself. So Kai Leng, you are right, be happy always.
My resolutions are my objectives which I aim to at least begin to do so in the New Year. Some are ridding myself of a certain "bad" habit, but usually, it is an intent stop procrastinating on doing something. Of course, resolutions are meant to be kept. Discipline and will-power is often required. That's why I list them down to remind myself.
I do take stock every now and then to see where I am. Taking small steps each time is important for every little success is great motivation to myself.
Of course, there will be always be people who do not need to be goaded or reminded to get things done. This is very admirable, and shows a very disciplined, organized person who knows what he wants in life.
Yes, everyone is different. That is why the world is such an exciting place.

Dearest everyone. Let us all pray for a better tomorrow. It's so scary about the things happening around our region. Recent events like Taiwan earthquake, floods in Malaysia & Indonesia, fire outbreak in Philippines must give us awareness to be more thankful & appreciate one another. Our children, families & friends are important to us. Let us pray for their safety & happiness for everyone :)
