Dear Jon,

Thank you for sharing with us on your 2007 resolutions. It seems you have started early on one of them? I heard on the radio this morning that you were way early at the radio station for “muttons in the morning?” So you did make it early and not just punctual. Well done!

Good job on the 8 days calendar! “The 8 days Big Celeb Calendar” and you have been considered as one. Doesn’t that tell you something? You must try to part your hair a little on the side sometimes, you looked fabs and personally I like it.

I was surprised to read about some of your resolutions, but I must commend you for being so open and honest about them. You didn’t try to paint a picture perfect about yourself, and be as real and true to yourself. To me that is admirable. And I do hope that you would keep your resolutions, especially on one particular habit which is not healthy for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, that does not mean, I think less of you now. Actually it is quite the opposite.

I believe 2006 has been quite an eventful year for you and your family, well one thing for sure it is for me. Not only have I found some good friends, but really caring ones too. Though you didn’t win the SI title, but I know you are happy just the same. The amount of experience that you have received is enough. “LIFE IS IN THE JOURNEY, NOT THE DESTINATION. Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself, and that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams…”

I like to share with you a quote by Oscar Wilde; he is one of my fave poets. “While one should always study the method of a great artist, one should never imitate his manner. The manner of an artist is essentially individual; the method of an artist is absolutely universal. The first is personality, which no one should copy; the second is perfection, which all should aim at.”

It reminds me of what you said during one of your interviews, “…there’s no such thing as individual style because nothing is original anymore. People should understand that everything comes from something else. That’s evolution.”

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to be a master of quotes here. Well, I just love words especially those that make me ponder deep. I do agree with what you said as there is some truth in it. I have seen all your SI performances, and there are some distinctive personalities in you and they just spell…..Jonathan Leong. It is a joy to watch you perform. It’s good to know that you are working hard on your music (one of your 2007 resolutions) always looking for room to improve yourself. So keep up the good work there!

Well, here is my last 2006 message for you. I know I have written many since your SI's blog. Oh those were fun. Heh! I hope you did enjoy reading them and in some ways were helpful.

Once again Jon, thank you for bringing so much joys into our lives through your music.

May beautiful moments and happy memories surround you this Christmas!

God Bless!

Yours sincerely,

Jules

Dear Jon,

Thank you for making me feel young again (not that I am very old....btw, I belong to post-independence generation) afro...watching your performances, enjoying every bits and then get addicted to watch your performances over again and again bring back the youth in me which I have not done for a long long time.

Besides your talent that has captivated me, your compassion for our furry friends is most admired...I am touched by your adoption and caring of Toto and Smokey afro I saw their photos in the SI blog and they are indeed very adorable!

You truly deserves all the attention and support you are getting...you are a rare gem in the local music scene and I can see you being very successful one day. All you need is just the right artiste/recording company.

I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a blessed Christmas and may all your wishes come true in the new year.

Take care....

Hi Jon .... For this Christmas, U will not only need a big Santa bag to put all your presents but also an extremely huge sack to put all your "showers of accolades" from this Fan Forum inside them - trust me, they will inspire and serve U well in future.

Jokes aside, I appreciate your Christmas letter to us and it is good to know that U are keeping well. Even if we may not have many chances of seeing U perform within the next few months (coz of your studies), written communication can be such a powerful tool for relationship-building and bonding - it helps us to "stay in touch with one another", don't U agree?

If ever U do need some "mind therapy" from your studies, do drop by at this Forum (some of the comments posted here are really hilarious, sorry I mean no offence to any Jonatics). I guess in life we do need to have this right balance of seriousness and humour so that we remain as sane beings (lol ...... ).

Don't know if U have every tried listening to "Gregorian Christmas Chants & Motets"; serious stuff right, but it can be therapeutic. I listen to them to prepare myself to be in a "contemplative mood" for Christmas.

The front cover & calendar shoots U did for 8 Days smack of sensationalism. In your own 'debonair persona" fashion, you once again exude irresistible oomph, so much so that we can't help but engage in this passionate dialogue about U. I guess we have once again elevated your male ego and cause U to feel very flattered. Don't worry I know U will still manage to stay grounded despite all the buzz going on.

One of your 2007 resolutions that was mentioned in the 8 Days caught many Jonatics by surprise (including yours truly), so is this your Christmas confession (hahaha!) to us? I do understand.

So on an ending and reluctant note, I leave U here with some well wishes -
"Have a Blessed Christmas and a good year ahead
and also to your family and loved ones
May all your dreams come true
and whatever your heart so desires
be fulfilled in 2007!

Take care and GB

Love
Agatha
