I'm no athlete but an armchair sports junkie.
Last night was busy switching channels watching Dubai Desert Classic & Asean Football Championship. Well, Singapore won, congrats to the Lions! But Els lost to Stenson <_< (at least Els is 1 stroke ahead of Tiger! wink1 )
I'm also a fan of Federer (tennis) & Kimi (F1). Not much into football but do catch EPL occasionally. Mich, my son is also a Man U fan.
Used to watch NBA in the past (when Jordan & the Chicago Bulls were hot). Was once rooting for Reggie Miller & the Indiana Pacers...then Shaq & Lakers.
Hmm...have not been following volleyball but I think Puerto Rico is quite good in the world championship??

Haha... I remember when the Bulls were so hot!!! I used to have their t-shirt with the lovely red bull! Hmm... dunno where that t-shirt is now...
Lynn - February 6, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
Hey kl......remember Scottie Pipen? I think he is another great player & the colourful Rodman ha ha!
Earlier there were Magic Johnson (Lakers) & Larry Bird (Celtics) but guess not your time, probably you were a little baby then :D
k-rex - February 6, 2007 05:17 AM (GMT)
Yes, I liked Pippen... err...not Rodman though, I thought his hair was too distracting on the court... I also liked Karl Malone (Utah Jazz).
Yes, I remember Magic Johnson and Larry Bird... my dad bought my sis and I a basketball which had Larry Bird's signature on it... hee hee... :D
nickky - February 6, 2007 06:13 AM (GMT)
I only liked Shaq (although he can be too egoistical). And a little bit of affinity for Larry Bird and Eddie Jones. I especially cannot stand Rodman, Kobe (although I have to admit he is talented) and Barkley.
Anyway, yay to the Lions! Oleee, ole ole ole, we are the champ, we are the champion. Oleee, ole ole, ole....
Colleen - February 6, 2007 11:24 AM (GMT)
i watched NBA when i was alot alot alot younger!!
haha i remember Scottie Pipen, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant etc! i have those basketball cards of them, whatever you call them. i even went to buy the collectors edition ones! but right now they're in my home somewhere ha. i think Jordan ended up playing golf or something right? can't remember! haha.
now i watch F1 and sometimes EPL.
KIMI IS THE MAN!
i hope they come to Singapore for the night circuit thingo :]
Lynn - February 6, 2007 11:51 AM (GMT)
Ha ha so Colleen you are the one who is the baby when Larry Bird was playing basketball. If I'm not wrong he later coach Indiana Pacers for a short while. Memory failing...
Yes kl I remember Karl Malone, the Mailman? I think during his off peak days he joined Lakers...
Anyway these days not following NBA after Shaq joined Miami Heats & won the championship. He left Lakers 'cos of Kobe. Hey nickky, same here, never like Kobe.
Yes Colleen these days is F1 wink1 Don't think I have missed any race last season. Looking forward to March...Australian Grand Prix...go Kimi go!
eveline - February 6, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
btw, if I am not mistaken, the F1 will be on 2008 rite? is it already decided that Singapore will be the host?
michsix - February 6, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
heh talking abt NBA, i used to watch it alot alot when i was much younger
the finals were normally during our school holidays
i supported BULLS and after, LAKERS :D
and i saw kobe when i was in hk!
ha, i didnt know he was that err, famous? at that time
only knew he was this super tall guy with loads of cameras following him haha!
anyway since many players left LAKERS, didnt wach NBA much already.
i rmb rodman and he's colourful hair!
hmm jordan was the man of nba then, not till he left bulls and everything went the wrong way haha.

Michelle, yes your Schumi has just retired from racing.....but his younger bro Ralf is still racing for Toyota. Do let us know who is your new fav driver.
Eve, S'pore hosting F1 is still not confirmed. We are hoping to host it in September 2008 & possibly a night street circuit. Will have to wait & see.

Haha, Mich... Actually MS is the reason why I gradually stopped watching F1... because I got a little tired of seeing him on the podium race after race <_< ... and also because I don't have cable anymore!!! smile27 But I do hope Kimi does well this season... ah, maybe I need to get cable in 38 days time...
Lynn - February 8, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
Ha ha kl you are right at one time F1 was getting so predictable...Shumi always up in the podium...big yawn...until his crown was taken over by Alonso. Not a fan of Alonso though but at least he provided some challenge again last year & retain the driver's championship.
This year should be more interesting with Alonso, Kimi, Massa, Button & even newbie like Hamilton fighting for the crown......will see.
I'm rooting for Kimi! wink1

Hi Colleen,
I love watching F1 in the comfort of the living room.
Enjoy commentaries by Steve Slater & Chris Goodwin.
Like you say watching the F1 at the race track, they cars will just zoom past...
Also it cost quite abit, a seat at the stand will set one back by S$300 but if someone is paying I will grab it! drool
Lynn - July 2, 2007 01:49 AM (GMT)
Kimi won the French Grand Prix! yahoo

Yah, I also enjoy watching from the comfort of home, with the commentaries by Steve and Chris. Sometimes their comments can be quite funny!
I STILL don't have cable here and have missed out on all the races since coming to Singapore! But anyway, I am so happy to read that Kimi has won again! yahoo Iceman, you better buck up, already half-way through the season! knuppel
Hmm... would be interesting to go for the night race... or get a room with a view from one of the hotels and switch on the telly for the live commentary... :D

Hi k-rex,
Alex (ex-F1 driver) appeared as guest with the host in the studio, I think twice, in recent broadcast of the races. Quite interesting to hear his views/commentaries during the live broadcasts. (haha he's good looking too) If I'm not wrong he is one of your fellow country men right?
You are right Kimi better buck up! He started so well & won the Australian Grand Prix then gone all quiet after that. <_< Now he is showing some form winning the last 2 races, hopefully it continues  Anyway its getting more exciting! :D

Ooh, Alex Yoong? Yes, he is my compatriot! And yes, he is quite the handsome one... hee hee  I was on the same flight as him once, and his then-gf (now wife) was waiting for him at the arrival hall. Her name is Arianna Teoh, she represented our country at either Ms World or Ms Universe I think... she is gorgeous too! They look very good together... :D
As for Kimi, he has a good car... he still has potential to win it... just hope his luck holds out till the end of the season! Sigh, I still prefer him at McLaren though... somehow I feel he doesn't fit in with Ferrari as much...maybe he looks better in black/silver than in red?!
