Hallo!
This is a pure, unabashed plea for your support from
Tan Kheng Hua.
I very not shy :)
Promise me you’ll read till end of this mail, okay?
Please come watch my first lead role in a feature film called “Cages”.
(more info about screening dates/times/venue below)
Here are what some reviewers had to say about the film which has already travelled to festivals in Pusan, Prague and Bangladesh:
“Singapore may never have looked better”
- Variety Magazine
“CAGES is a beautifully shot film”
- Firecracker Magazine
Cages tells a poetic and powerful family love story set against the backdrop of Singapore songbirds. Ali’s attempts to escape repeated bad relationships ironically put her before the man she resents most – her father, Tan. This journey of a single mother, her blind son and her father, captures an eloquent and complex portrait of family – the secrets that imprison us, the bonds that refuse to go away and ultimately, the truths that set us free.
This feature length film is a USA/Singpore collaboration. Shot entirely in Singapore by first time US director Graham Streeter, it stars Oscar nominee Mako Iwamatsu (“Sand Pebbles”, “Pearl Harbor”, “Memoirs of a Geisha”, “Seven Years in Tibet”) as Tan , as well as celebrated Hollywood legend Zelda Rubenstein (“Poltergeist”, “Sixteen Candles”) as Liz. Cages also stars veteran Singapore actress Tan Kheng Hua (PCK Pte Ltd) as Ali and introduces visually impaired child actor Dickson Tan as Jonah.
