Description: Moto Red event

Agatha - March 14, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)

Hi Jonatics

If you are into live gigs whose elements of techno-dance, hard core rock, punk leave you adrenalined and re-charged, you may want to check out The Moto Red LIVE: WI(RED) concert featuring local groups like Ronin, The Great Spy Experiment, Closeapart, Guerilla Collective and UK band Bugz In The Attic on Sat 24 March from 6.00-10.30 pm. This event will be held at Level 9 Market Street car park (yeah what a place and do pray for good weather as well).

If you have not been satisfied and still lusting for more after this concert; fret not, you may head down to continue your dose at LIVE: WI(RED) party from 23.00 - 4.00 am (zzz .........) @ Home Club (details are available on the website).

Entry to the concert is via tickets, open to 18 years and above but limited to 1,500 pax. To get one for yourself, just log onto www.Livewired.com.sg and register online by 23/3. After you are logged on, click onto the Moto Red logo to access, followed by "Join" and "RSVP" respectively. Remember to print out the confirmation copy.

Wow, all I can say is Moto Red is definitely all hot and hype up in this worthy initiative (and for which our JL is also endorsing).

"3 million people die of AIDS yearly and this is the leading cause of death in Africa ... ". The message was subtly woven into last Saturday's concert by Moto Red, a partner in this worthy initiative to fight AIDS - you could say it was a stark contrast to what most concert-goers were hankering for that night.

Oblivious though it might be; many were there to soak in the vibes that local bands Ronin, Closeapart, The Great Spy Experiment and Guerilla Collective and UK band Bugz In The Attic could generate. While the local bands kept the crowds entertained during the early part of the evening, the second half of the concert clearly belonged to Bugz In The Attic.

This UK band outfit brought along a myriad of genres comprising soul, funk, jazz, R & B, electro, broken beat etc and adeptly moulded them into listenable urban dance collective music for the masses. Hot on the heels of "Don't Stop The Music" and many more, the crowds were quick to lap up and allow themselves to be seduced in this brand of music.

As the night wore on, reality crept in and the music finally had to stop after the encore had been given its due accord.

We made our way to the 7th floor lobby; minutes ticked by as we waited - a couple of lifts had passed us by without stopping. Now finally there was one lift which was willing to stop for us. When the lift door opened, lo and behold -Jonathan L was inside. I stared at him dumbfounded for a few seconds before making my way inside the lift coz earlier I was telling Carol that "if things were meant to be, it would be" and her wish "to say hello to Jon" was about to be materialised (never mind that it was to be in the lift).

Carol, weren't you glad that you heeded my suggestion to hold back and not intrude into his privacy earlier - yeah Jonathan was in the VIP area the whole evening @ Moto Red LIVE: WI(RED) Concert.

Then it was over to Home Club @ The Riverwalk to check out the club scene (we met Paul Twohill - he was really wacky on the remarks made). The club had given free entry to all Live Wired concert-goers but having to inhale wisps of cigarette smoke and feeling claustrophobic, I decided to make a move after only a short while.

Did non concert-goers miss much by not being there that night? Not really, I would say unless you are into dance collective music like I am.
