My thoughts ...... if entries are submitted directly to the e-mail address provided in this thread, then we are not likely to see any such write-ups unless they do eventually get posted on this forum.

Writing in this forum should be voluntary (unless you have a job that requires you to write profusely) and you do write better if it comes from the heart and soul. It is perfectly alright if you cannot come up with much to write because sometimes we do suffer from the writer's block syndrome when attempting to express ourselves.

What can be said about survival and inspirational writing?
Some write to survive while others survive to write.
Some need to be inspired to write, there are others who write to inspire.

Just imagine - how intellectually rewarding it will be if one's written articles can actually make a positive difference in the lives of others! Have you ever wondered how some written articles and texts can elicit us into faithful readers - and we never get tired of reading them over and over again!

While 'focused freewriting' may be easier to attempt as it gives focus on a single topic i.e. zero in on one particular subject; 'private freewriting' may be a little trickier especially if you are not comfortable about conveying your emotions in words and on paper.

I try to incorporate both 'focused and private freewriting' as this gives the best combination mix. For example, 'focused freewriting' in this fan forum will cover topics like "Countdown 2007", "NUS Gig", "MSU 2007" just to name a few. It is easier to write when you have a subject in mind, while 'private freewriting' will allow me to voice my thoughts and viewpoints (and this is the evocative aspect that I enjoy).

What makes writing both challenging yet appealing - it is the "allure of being joyously prolific".

If you folks are eagerly awaiting for the write-up on Jon's birthday bash, I have
just submitted a post-party review comprising 16 paragraphs (approx 980 words). If it does not get published, then I will post it on this forum for all to read.

When we write, we put ourselves in a vulnerable position. While there are those who enjoy reading my write-ups, there are others who beg to differ (haha!). I am used to having bouquets lavished on and brickbats thrown at me.

If you are looking forward to reading interesting and juicy bits, then I am afraid it may not be so (depending on your perception) coz it is basically narrative and reflective in nature.

eveline - June 14, 2007 10:31 AM (GMT)
Thanks Agatha..:)
will wait for several post and we will choose...

who else...who else..

I am sure out there...still a lot of you having post party blues (like me)
but too bad, I might not be a good writer....

u may want to tell stories from the very beginning Jon entered the red Carpet..:)
or if you are in the commitee...you can share how fun we were to do some preparations....

makes me remember that we keep on mentioning JON names loudly...
sometimes even " Jonathan Leong!" till the Whole TCC @ boat Quay patrons Listened...it was like our own hope to discuss endlessly about the planning.:)

such a memorable moment....hmmmm...:)

If all goes well you folks may be able to read the "uncensored version" of my write-up soon, written in true originality and honesty. Yeah, no edits are allowed or else the write-up will lose its true essence. Eve, no regrets about posting it on the website? And you will have no regrets reading (lol .......)???

eveline - June 15, 2007 09:33 AM (GMT)
Dear Agatha...

Dear all,

some highlights for your write up :
- must be positive writings/no slamming,no sensitive matters
- good english is encouraged.
- creative,expresive,descriptive.

next is the write up about the event @ SDC ( dairy farm's family day)
you can write anything about the event, can be about the hilarious MCs, about the lucky draws, about the carnival, and of course, about Jon's performance.
can be about anything..:)

however, if you have write up about the birthday bash, we are still accepting..:)

love,
Eveline
